Qin Luzi checked the map in his mind and chose a building with better security. “Captain, there is a two-story house fifty meters away.”

Since they had just cleared the zombies in the area, this area should be safe for now. When they arrived at the location, the sun had set. The members opened the door and checked the house.

Compared to other places, this house was cleaner. Besides a thick layer of dust covering the ground and furniture, there were no other stains. Even the rancid stench was less compared to outside.

Without being reminded, the members started cleaning up the house. With their abilities, it only took ten minutes to clean the entire house. When they were done, Jiao Lizhi went to check the kitchen and pantry.

At first, she thought that there would not be any supplies in this house. After all, judging from the house’s condition, this place should have been empty when the apocalypse hit.

Unexpectedly, when she entered the kitchen, she noticed that the cabinets and shelves were fully stocked. Even the pantry was also full of dried and canned food. With a wave of her hand, she stored everything into her space, including the shelves.

After dinner, the members took turns taking a bath before they went to rest. With the windows and doors locked, they did not need too many people for night watch. With Feng Yun and Du Beiye guarding the house, everyone was finally able to have a good night’s sleep.

Early the next morning, the Phantom team had already finished breakfast and checked their weapons. While Jiao Lizhi was dividing the crystal cores and preparing some emergency supplies, Qin Luzi and Jin Xuyan were discussing the map.

“Captain, most of the zombies in this area are gathering in this spot,” Qin Luzi said as he pointed at the hospital’s parking lot.

“Do you notice anything unusual in the hospital?” Jin Xuyan asked.

Qin Luzi had checked his map several times and was sure that besides several level-two zombies, there were no high-level zombies in the hospital. “There is nothing unusual,” he said as he shook his head.

Even though Jin Xuyan believed in Qin Luzi’s ability, he still felt that something was amiss. For some unknown reason, he felt uneasy.

Noticing his deep frown, Qin Luzi asked, “Captain, are you worried about something?”

“With this amount of zombies, there must be a high-level zombie controlling them. Otherwise, it would be impossible for them to gather in one place and do nothing.”

After a moment of silence, Qin Luzi suddenly said, “Captain, is there a possibility that these zombies are under that person’s control?”

Hearing this, a guess flashed in Jin Xuyan’s mind. “Do you mean that the one with the purple dot is controlling these zombies?”

“I am not sure, but for now, that is the only possibility I can think of.”

While the two of them were lost in thought, Du Beiye suddenly walked over and said, “Captain, how about I go investigate that person while you and our members take care of the zombies?”

Jin Xuyan looked at her for a moment and said, “We do not know anything about the other party. There might be a possibility that the other party is stronger than us. Are you sure you want to take this risk?”

Du Beiye nodded and said, “I believe I can handle that person. But, I want Sister Jiao to go with me.”

The moment he heard this, Jin Xuyan wanted to refuse. But before he could say anything, Jiao Lizhi replied, “Okay.”

Seeing his fiancée coming, Jin Xuyan reached out to hold her hand and said, “Ah Zhi, it is too dangerous for you to investigate that group.”

Jiao Lizhi held his hand and replied in a low voice, “Brother Yan, did you forget that I have my Space? If I am faced with danger, I can go there and hide. What is more, I believe that with me and Beiye going together, even if we cannot win against that group, we will still be able to escape unscathed.”

While Jin Xuyan was still hesitating, Du Beiye added, “Captain, do not worry. I know our limits. If the situation is too dangerous, we will retreat immediately. We only go there to investigate and not to fight them head-on.”

“Captain, I agree with Du Beiye’s suggestion,” Qin Luzi chimed in.

Jin Xuyan understood that to ensure the team’s safety, it was crucial to get more information about the enemies. But when he thought about letting his fiancée face those people from the facility, he still could not help but feel worried.

“Brother Yan, you cannot protect me forever. I have to get stronger and stand beside you. Only when I am strong enough can we stay together for a long time,” Jiao Lizhi said.

After a long silence, Jin Xuyan finally nodded. “Alright. But you have to promise me to be careful. Your safety is the priority.”

“I promise you,” Jiao Lizhi agreed.

At seven o’clock, the Phantom team finally left the house. While the members went to the First hospital, both Jiao Lizhi and Du Beiye rode on a motorbike and went in another direction.

The two of them rode for almost an hour before they arrived at the location pointed out by Qin Luzi. When they arrived, the two of them exchanged glances.
