580: Sacrificial Sheep ( 1 ) 580: Sacrificial Sheep ( 1 ) Before the new members could react, Du Beiye and Fu Guai had already carried them to the center of the rooftop.

This was the only safe area on the rooftop.

When she heard their heavy breathing, Du Beiye shook her head and said, “The three of you should train your body more.

With this level of stamina, even if you have the chance to break through, you won’t be able to survive.” The three of them didn’t understand her meaning and looked at her with confusion.  But Du Beiye was too lazy to explain, and Fu Guai’s throat was still injured, so the two of them left the three weaklings and rejoined the members to kill zombies without any explanation.

Sitting at the center, protected by the members, Chen Wenwu finally said after catching his breath, “What did she mean by that?” He didn’t expect anyone to reply to him and just wanted to voice his doubts.

But the next moment, Chen Qianfeng said, “After breaking through to the next level, your energy will increase.

If your body can’t withstand the energy, you will end up dying from exploding.

So, training your body is the most basic thing.” When the new members heard this, they finally realized the seriousness of having a good foundation.

Only after he heard this did Chen Wenwu understand why the members insisted on doing morning exercise every day.

“Thank you for telling us, Brother Chen.” “No problem.

The three of you can take a rest and recover your energy first.

You can continue to fight later.

With this number of zombies, it might take us one or two days to clean them up,” Chen Qianfeng replied.

After he said this, he gave them some crystal cores before he returned to his task.

Unlike the new members, the rest of the Phantom team was having a blast.

Thanks to the constant battle and draining their energies, they were on the verge of breaking through.

It was estimated that after this battle, they would be able to reach level three.

While the Phantom team was busy, Pei Xun arrived at the facility hidden in the Land of Snow.

Wearing a half-face silver mask, he climbed down from the helicopter and was followed by a group of guards.

When they were near the massive boulders, the hidden door opened with a soft buzzing.

Soon after, an old man with a hunched back walked out, followed by five guards.

Seeing him coming, Pei Xun hastened his steps and greeted him, “Brother.” Pei Gan nodded at him and asked, “Did you bring the things?” Pei Xun nodded and replied, “Everything is according to your order.” “Follow me.” The group walked into the facility, and the hidden door closed.

They walked for ten minutes and took an elevator.

As the numbers jumped, Pei Gan glanced at his brother and asked, “How is Yijun?” Thinking about his now obedient son, Pei Xun’s eyes flashed with a smile.

After a moment, he replied, “He is currently helping me with the base’s management.” “Don’t lower your guard.

That kid is not as simple as you think,” Pei Gan warned him.

Unlike before, Pei Xun didn’t take his brother’s warning seriously and replied, “Brother, you don’t have to worry.

After the setback he experienced, that kid is no longer as arrogant as before.

Now, he is obedient and follows my orders perfectly.” Although Pei Gan was frowning, he didn’t comment on his younger brother’s words.

It had been years since he last met his nephew, and people’s personalities did change as they grew up.

Perhaps his nephew had changed like his brother said.

With this thought, he no longer worried about the family’s matters.

Soon after, the elevator finally stopped, and with a ding sound, the door opened.

The group walked out and saw a vast area of laboratories equipped with advanced technological machines.

Even though the laboratory was located one hundred meters underground, the walls and floor were covered with unknown materials.

The entire laboratory was connected to central air conditioning and ventilation pipes, keeping the temperature at sixteen degrees Celsius.

This was the first time for Pei Xun to visit this level.

Even with his position, he had no access to it.

After all, this was the restricted area, only accessible to the Elders.

Fortunately, his brother was the one controlling the research department and had full authority over the laboratory.

Otherwise, he wouldn’t even have had a chance to witness such a high-technology environment.

Noticing his younger brother’s amazement, Pei Gan said with a hint of pride in his tone, “This is nothing.

When you see what I show you next, you better control your composure.

Don’t offend the prestigious guests.” Realizing that he had lost his composure, Pei Xun nodded and replied in a low voice, “Understood.” They walked for another twenty minutes before they reached an automatic door equipped with biometric locks.

Pei Gan turned to his men and said, “No one is allowed to follow.” His subordinates nodded and stood a few meters away.

Seeing this, Pei Xun glanced at his subordinates.

Following the others, they stood in the distance.

Pei Gan nodded and used his retina, face, and fingerprints to open the door.

When Pei Xun saw this, he felt ecstatic.

Something kept inside such complicated locks must be an extraordinary item.

Noticing his brother’s excitement, Pei Gan reminded him, “After you go inside, be careful with your words and behavior.

Otherwise, I can’t guarantee your safety.” Hearing his brother’s warning again, Pei Xun was annoyed.

He was not a kid.

There was no need to keep reminding him.

Despite his irritation, he still smiled and nodded.

“I will listen to you, Brother.” “Good.” Pei Gan entered the room, followed by his brother.

The moment the two of them walked past the entrance, the door closed with a soft hum and locked.

Standing outside the door, the Pei family’s guards couldn’t help but glance at the closed door.

For them to be able to follow the head of the family showed that they were not simple people.

One of them observed the surroundings and took note of everything he saw.

Behind the door, Pei Xun was stunned by the scene.
