Chapter 1271: Just Ask The People Involved Directly
“What do you expect me to do with that information?” I asked, giving her a pointed look.

“We believe that Goddess Immana would not destroy the tree herself since that would surely anger our great God Drebann… But if it was her followers that did it… Then there would be nothing that our great God Drebann would be able to say about the situation either…” She explained.

I tilted my head, “Why would she not be able to say anything about it? Even if it was done by a proxy, as long as it can be proven that she was the one that orchestrated it, then God Drebann would do something about it, right?”

“The Gods don’t interfere with us mortals. They allow us our freedom to do what we want even if it is going against their will. Such is the way of the Gods.”

I honestly do not think that is the case at all because I already know the gods don’t have such rules imposed on themselves.

They’re literally just treating this as watching some kind of reality show where they can also act as a participant if they wanted to.

But I guess this was just the common misconception that people of this World have so I won’t correct her on that.

I mean… I think she would just go ahead and confront goddess Immana about it if I went to tell her right now, to be honest. But I don’t want to act under just assumptions so…

“Anyway, how are you so sure that goddess Immana intends to destroy the tree?”

The Trasif pursed her lips for a moment before letting out a sigh, “Several days ago, we found someone trying to dig a hole near the roots of the tree. When we inspected the hole, we found several Mana Crystals that had been filled to the brim with mana and something like that could only be possibly used as a bomb.”

“Would that bomb be enough to take down the tree?”

“Not at all.”

“Then what is the problem?”

“One small hole filled with Mana Crystals isn’t going to do much to the tree itself. I fear that they might have hidden even more of these bombs somewhere else…”

“And you want us to find them?”

“That would be for the best if it was that simple… But I also suspect that this might just be part of the plan to take down the tree itself. They might have other measures in place to destroy it like what happened to the Tree of Death.”

“Hmm… But why suspect goddess Immana though?”

“Because I cannot think of anyone else who might want to do something like this. And we have confirmed that one of the culprits is a Comissar as well.”

Hmm… I guess that might be enough for one to think that it’s related to the gods… And seeing that goddess Immana was the one who cast them out to begin with, it would be logical to assume that she was also the one behind trying to get rid of them as well.

“So what is your actual plan? I don’t think you intend for us to just go around the forest digging the ground to look for more bombs are you?”

She shook her head, “Unfortunately, that is the problem. I do not have a plan to deal with this… We know that one of the Gods is intent on our downfall and might have already made plans and instigated people to carry out her will. I do not know how we can go against a Goddess bent on destroying us…”

“Have you… Tried praying to goddess Drebann?”

“Like I said, she would not interfere with mortal affairs like this.”

Minnera clucked her tongue and turned to me, “Aster… I think you might as well just go and ask her directly at this point. There’s no need to beat around the bush. We’re wasting time like this.”

Well… There’s also the alternative where I get Katsuki to mobilise our maid team stationed here to find out the information… Because I’m very sure we definitely have some kind of surveillance team here as well.

But since Drebann literally gave me a free pass to just go crash his place whenever I want, I guess I could also go the route where I just ask him about this myself.

The Trasif didn’t think so though as she frowned at Minnera, “You’re a Comissar yourself. Do you not think that we should not bother the Gods over something as trivial as this?”

Minnera scoffed, “Oh gee… If you think that the destruction of your great tree is something ‘trivial’, then I really don’t want to know what you would actually consider serious.”

She has a point there…

The Trasif scowled, “Anything related to our mortal realm is trivial to the Gods. We are nothing but tools and instruments of our Gods’ will.”

Ah… I see… This is the kind of person we’re dealing with… She’s the kind of fanatic who wouldn’t even question anything her god tells her to do. She would probably even destroy the tree herself if Drebann told her to do it.

I sighed, “I’ll ask Drebann… Maybe he has a better idea of–”

“HOW DARE YOU?!!” The Trasif screeched, her hand reaching towards me as though to grab my collar.

Her hand stopped an inch away from me, not because she stopped herself but because Katsuki had moved behind her to hold a dagger at her neck.

And if that wasn’t enough, Minnera had also materialised her gun to point at her head.

Geez girls, calm down.

She seethed, “So is this it? You are part of the group trying to destroy the tree as well?”

I ignored her and cleared my throat, “Ahem… As I was saying… I’ll talk to Drebann and see if he… Err… She has any idea about this.”

I walked past the Trasif who was glaring daggers at me and faced the statues.

“Hey… Drebann? Can I come over for a bit?”

I blinked and I was immediately in a different place. She really meant it when she said I can just call her and come over huh…

This time, I was standing in what appears to be some kind of garden and Drebann was tending to some plants, using scissors to trim some of their leaves while bent over.

She was completely naked so I got a clear view of her womanhood between her legs which I believe she had done so on purpose.

“To think that I got to see you in person twice in a single day, it feels like the entire universe is conspiring something. Either that, or I’m using up all my fortuity for the rest of the year,” Drebann mused, not turning around.

“Well… I am in the city that worships you after all… And a problem just came up.”

“You mean the supposed ploy to destroy the Tree of Life?”

I’m not even surprised that she already knew about it.

“So… I just want to ask if goddess Immana is the one behind it?”

She straightened herself and the scissors she was holding disappeared in a puff of smoke before she turned around to face me, her boobs jiggling from the motion.

“Who knows? Maybe you should go ask her directly?”

I tilted my head, “Are you suggesting that I go meet her?”

She then pointed behind me, “The choice has already been decided for you, actually.”

I spun around and a woman was standing right behind me, close enough that I almost smacked my boobs against hers when I turned around.

She had shimmering hair that seemed to shift between colours and nine fox tails were fanned out behind her, the fur of the tail also matching her hair in shifting colours.

She was dressed in an evening gown that showed off her cleavage and thighs while the material of said dress looked like it was made of the night sky. Stars and galaxies seem to move across the surface of the dress, making her look ethereal.

Naturally my gaze went to her chest which I think was at least as big as Mother’s in size and just as perky.

The woman was staring at me like she was trying to study some kind of specimen that she had just found.

“Go… Goddess Immana?” I muttered.

Her lips curled up into a smile, “Ara, ara? What a cute one you are? You can call me Big Sis Immana if you want~ Oh, I think I like Immana Onee-chan better actually~ Your World was really interesting~ Hmmm~ You’re really so cute~ How have I not noticed you until now? Have you been hiding her from me, Drebann?”

Drebann scoffed, “Hiandoca literally bragged about her to you, did you forget? You just weren’t interested.”

“Ufufufu~ I see, I see~ That will have to change~ Oh my little cute one~ You really are so cute~”

Her tails moved forward and wrapped me up and I was immediately assaulted by a sea of fluff.

This… Was not how I imagined her to be like…
