Chapter 709: There’s An Upcoming Exhibition
So…. All things aside, the Vanguard model seems like what I might be interested in.

Except there was just one problem…

The ones that we have looked at are all part of the ninth generation of Exo-Knights so if we want to take advantage of the new generation, none of them have actually been officially released yet.

Still… The good thing is that I at least had a general idea of how the different models of Exo-Knights defer from each other.

By what Ries could find, they will be unveiling the new generation of Exo-Knights in just a little more than a month from now.

She then suggested that we might as well attend the Exo-Knight exhibition that would be happening close to the border of the Inner Colonies that would be happening to announce the new generation of Exo-Knights.

“Ehhhh~ I would have thought they would reveal it in the Inner Colonies. Why are they holding such an event in the Outer Colonies?” I asked, my head currently laid on Lea’s lap.

All of us were in our nightgowns as we were preparing for bed which was why I started asking Ries about this stuff again.

So that ended up in a full blown discussion about Exo-Knights with the other girls involved which was why I was getting a lap pillow from Lea right now.

Ries bounced on the bed while on all fours excitedly, “Oh, the actual reveal is going to be within the Inner Colonies but they also need to market to the Outer Colonies as well! Since people in the Outer Colonies can’t attend the exhibition held in the Inner Colonies, they’re holding a simultaneous reveal exhibition in the Outer Colonies too!”

Huh… So basically if you have a market in the Inner Colonies and the Outer Colonies, you’ll probably need to hold events in two different places at the same time.

Guess when your business is on a galactic scale, your events would also need to scale up quite a bit.

Also… I read between the lines of Ries’s words and I smirked at her, “Shall we head there after we got our licenses?”

She immediately crawled over to shove her face in between my boobs to look up at me, “Really?! Do you mean it, Boss?! Can we really go there?! I always wanted to go to one!!”

I shrugged, “I don’t see a reason why we shouldn’t go? I mean… We already intend to get at least one for ourselves, right? Sounds like that exhibition would be the best place to get one and learn about the new generation as well. So if everyone’s fine with it, let’s go and take a look at that exhibition.”

Ries turned to the others in the room, watching their reaction.

Amber looked up from where she was rubbing her face on the back of my hand, “I’ll go wherever Tera wants to go! And hey! Isn’t it already time to switch, Lea?!”

Lea ignored her and slowly brushed my hair with her hand, “I will also follow Mistress. If Mistress wishes to go there, I do not see a reason why I will not want to go.”

“I also don’t mind. This is Captain’s ship after all, Captain decides where to go and I will follow,” Mara added, not looking up from where she was fiddling with her personal terminal beside me while I stroked her thigh with my free hand.

Yumiko lifted her head from where she had been busy sniffing my crotch, needing a moment to shake herself out of her stupor before she managed to speak.

“I’m also interested in seeing what the new generation of Exo-Knights is like, Mistress. That is… If you don’t mind taking us there…”

“Well, there you have it,” I chuckled, prompting Yumiko to return to pressing her nose against my crotch. “We’ll head to where the exhibition is being held after we are done here. We have enough time for that, right?”

Mara tapped on her personal terminal and a projection of the galactic map popped up.

She seemed to be plotting a course to head to where the exhibition would be from our current location so we all waited for her to do so.

Eventually, she nodded, “If we head off a day after we are supposed to graduate from here, we should reach there five days before the actual event, Captain.”

Oh, that’s good. We can take our time heading there then.

“Is there a prerequisite that we need to fulfill before we can head there?” I asked.

“To attend as a normal visitor? There isn’t,” Ries reported, bringing up her own personal terminal as well to scroll through what I assume was the events page of the exhibition. “But it seems like if you register as a Exo-Knight pilot license holder, you would be granted access to more parts of the exhibition~”

I turned to Mara and she spoke up without me needing to say anything, “Don’t worry, Captain. I will make sure that we are properly registered after we have received our licenses.”

Always so reliable, Mara~ If it wasn’t because Lea’s thighs are so comfy, I would have gotten up to kiss you now~

Amber went back to rubbing her face on the back of my hand while peeking at Ries, “So what’s the exhibition like? Are we able to buy Exo-Knights there or is this just the companies showing off their latest toys?”

Ries snuck in a moment to fondle my boobs before she answered her, “I haven’t been to one before but I’ve seen the videos of the event! They’ll have various different companies there peddling their newest Exo-Knights and you can place orders with them directly there! If it wasn’t because of the fact that they will be unveiling the new generation of Exo-Knights, this would usually be a place where the other Exo-Knight companies try to one up each other by showing off their modifications~”

“Right… And I guess because there’s a new generation of Exo-Knights, whoever is revealing it is basically the undisputed start of the show?” I asked.

Ries nodded enthusiastically, bouncing her chin in between my cleavage, “That’s right, that’s right! Everyone’s eyes are on Crusaders Inc. for that event! Unlike the other times where they keep claiming the new generation would revolutionise the Exo-Knight industry, this one seems like it will really be the case! So everyone else is a side show for this event~”

“Wait… Wouldn’t the other companies going there be marketing ninth generation models anyway? They would essentially be made obsolete as soon as the new generation is unveiled, right?”

Amber chuckled, “Ehehe~ Not everyone could afford to buy the newest toys as soon as it comes out, Tera~ There’s also some stubborn ones who would cling to what is familiar instead of trying out something new, so there will always be some people who would go for the older models too.”

Lea stroked my hair and planted a kiss on my forehead, “There’s also people who would rather wait for the reviews to come in before making a decision as well.”

That’s true… I’m one of such people so that checks out.

But in this case, it doesn’t really matter since Ries would be modifying it to suit our needs anyway. Which means we can just get the Exo-Knight that best suits our needs as long as the price is reasonable.

If there were any problems with it, Ries would be able to fix it~

That’s… Also assuming that Renata doesn’t eat it and ends up being unable to replicate it or something…

Well… I believe she would be able to do it so I’m not too worried about that possibility.

Speaking of price…

“Do we at least know what the price range might be for the new generation models?”

Ries’s ears twitched a little, “Mmm… I’m not sure… Going by the price range of the ninth generation, it could be anywhere from a million Credits to over a billion Credits.”

I blinked at her, “Wait… That range is insane… Why is there such a huge gap?”

“That’s because there’s many different models that serve different markets, Boss!”

Mara huffed, “What she means is that the nobles really have way more Credits than they know what to do with. So they make the most pointless and obnoxious modifications to make the Exo-Knight look good but perform almost the same as all the others just to milk the Credits out of them. And the nobles are all vain enough to just buy it for the looks just to show off to each other.”

Something tells me that she’s talking from experience.

I’m going to guess that some of them are up to a billion Credits because the manufacturers adorn them in all sorts of decorations which inflates the price…

Well, if I were to assume that the lowest price is around a million Credits, I guess I can expect the normal ‘practical’ range to be around five million to maybe a hundred million Credits?

That amount sounds reasonable at least~
