Chapter 706: We Should Have A Party To Celebrate
So the end result of the duels…

Amber and Lea managed to pass but it seems like Ries and Mara lost to him.

Still, I gave each of them a kiss anyway regardless of the result.

Incidentally, both of the Mercs who also followed along to challenge the instructor also lost their duels as well.

Ries and Mara had asked if I really wanted everyone to win the duel and I said it didn’t matter since we would be planning to stay here for the full duration anyway. So even if they lost the duel tomorrow, it wouldn’t matter either.

Besides… They were attending this academy out of interest, not out of necessity. And we can afford such luxuries so it was not a big deal even if they fail anyway.

I would say the main people who ‘needed’ the license were Yumiko, Amber, Lea and myself and we’ve already accomplished that.

Ries doesn’t need a pilot license to maintain or modify the machine and she only wants one for the novelty of it. Which she would get anyway as long as she completes the course.

Mara was really just tagging along to attend it alongside everyone else to be honest. She technically already has one as a former noble, but she just doesn’t have one as her current Mercenary self.

Since we’re considered ‘graduates’ now, or at least most of us are, it means we’re free to use the facilities however we wish, though what that entails is still unclear until he sends us the details.

So for now… We’re just going to do what I know we’re allowed to do… Make use of the kitchen!

While we were on the way there, Ries let out a sigh, “Ahhh… If only I had a big gun instead… That small autocannon was not satisfying to use at all…”

I raised an eyebrow at her, “Was that why you lost to the instructor?”

She shrugged, “I guess? I mean… I would have preferred a much bigger gun than that small pebble shooter where I can hold my ground instead of needing to run around and hide.”

“For me, I’m still trying to get used to the normal controls instead of the psionic type of controls,” Mara explained unbidden.

Hmm… So basically both of them lost because the equipment did not suit them.

Honestly, if this was anyone else telling me this, I would simply tell them ‘skill issue’. But for these two in particular, I firmly believe that if they had what they asked for, they would not have lost to the instructor.

I reached the mess hall where only a handful of students remained since lunchtime had already ended a while ago.

The only people that remained were just the students who were taking advantage of their status as students here to eat as much as they could.

I would have wondered how that guy could afford to pay for all this but since I knew the fees for this academy of five hundred thousand Credits each… It all made sense.

Just saying, it’s not five hundred thousand Credits if you pass the trial, it’s five hundred thousand Credits just to register as an applicant… So all those people who failed the test basically paid for nothing.

Now I can see why people would actually try to steal the wrist bands and resell them because some of these people wouldn’t want to throw away the money they already spent and would spend more just to qualify.

I honestly don’t know if this is even a good practice but… Oh well, it’s none of my business.

I led the way to the kitchen behind the mess hall and there was a pair of androids that were currently working there.

As expected, the way the food was made was just them literally shoving the ingredients inside an automatic food processor and the machine does everything for them. No wonder it tastes so bland…

I also want to mention… All the androids in this station are all quite attractive… Even this pair of male and female androids were made to be attractive looking too. Maybe it’s this guy’s fetish?

The male android noticed us and immediately came over to address me.

“Greetings, can we assist you?”

“Yes. I would like to eat but rather than have food prepared for me, I would like to prepare my own food instead. Can I take some of your ingredients to use on my ship?” I asked.

The android paused for a moment, probably needing some time to process what I just asked with its internal computer. Or maybe he was contacting the instructor directly to relay my request to him.

The android eventually moved again and nodded his head to gesture at a door inside the kitchen, “Of course, Miss Tera. You will find our food storage inside there. I do have to insist that you don’t take everything and be reasonable with how much you take.”

“Don’t worry, I won’t empty out the entire storage and starve everyone else.”

“In that case, please feel free to make use of what we have.”

He stepped aside and I moved past him to head towards their food storage.

There seemed to be some security on the door as light shone on me before it slid open, making me believe that the android did indeed contact the instructor and he granted me access to the storage.

Stepping inside with my girls, it looks like there’s the dry storage area and the freezer area deeper inside.

Hmm… It looks like he’s stocked quite a lot of stuff. Damn, there’s some pretty good stuff here too. I guess when he’s making the money like he was, he can afford to splurge on these things without worry.

Works for me~ I get to use them however I like~

Let’s see, they have quite a lot of vegetables here… I’ll just take some of the ones that we don’t have. Oh and fruits too! Maybe Lea can use these to grow our own in the hydroponics room too~

Then there’s quite a lot of meat as well, some of them I don’t even recognise.

Thankfully, I have a literal living encyclopedia that I was wearing who helpfully identified what they were and whether it was safe for consumption.

Though I would take the consumption part with a grain of salt considering that Renata literally could eat anything… So I have to make sure to specify that it was safe for human consumption, not just her.

Anyway, I was just testing stuff out today so I only took what I needed plus a few extra fruits and vegetables for Lea to grow back to the ship. We can take more later on once we figured out what was good in their inventory.

Hey, we paid a lot of money for this so you damn well believe I’m getting my money’s worth! And I’m not wasting them either!

With the stuff secured, we returned back to my ship and I started to cook.

Lea had already taken the new vegetables and fruits to be planted so I’m basically left with the unfamiliar meats and the familiar vegetables.

For today… Since we have a few of us that succeeded in getting their licenses… I’m thinking that we might as well indulge a little to celebrate. Then once Ries and Mara also get their licenses, we would throw an even bigger party!

And since it’s a party… That means I have to make indulgent food… What should I make then?

Hmm… Hmmm~

Oh! I know the perfect one!!

Let’s see… I should still have the flour I made lying around somewhere… Ah! There they are!

Right, now I just need to add some salt, sugar and some oil that is similar to olive oil to start mixing them.

Once I felt the dough was ready, I placed it in the processor which would help with the dough rising.

I just need to set the desired result to be a twenty four hour fermentation and I just need to leave it there for five minutes to get that result.

Such a cheat.

While that is happening, I prepared the other ingredients, especially the sauce I would be using which I already have some on stock, though I intend to make more specifically for this food in the future.

I have the cheese as well and then I’ll have some sliced meats and vegetables laid out in preparation for the dough to be done.

Once I heard the chime from the machine, I took out the dough and deflated it a bit before separating them into two balls and let them sit in a bowl for another fifteen minutes, giving me time to finish prepping some sides I intend to make as well.

Moving back to the main course, I started pressing on one of the dough balls and stretching them until it was flat with the edges being thicker, repeating the same thing with the second ball.

I then layered the sauces and toppings on the dough, making sure that each had a different topping before sliding them into the processor again, this time to let them cook.

By the time the processor let out another chime to let me know my food was ready, the kitchen was already filled with a mouth watering smell.

Taking my new creations out, I nodded in satisfaction as I sliced them into individual slices ready to be served.

Obviously, for a party like this, you have to have pizza!
