Chapter 438: The Cardinal’s Offering
‘Ahhh, what’s with him?’ Kirja thought, irritated. Sure, Circle Warriors had strong wills — but Cassian was just a First Circle. Strong, maybe, but not that strong. No man should be able to hold back this long. Any normal one would’ve already given in after minutes of this. With this much grinding — even through clothes — most would’ve come undone. Just the feel of a woman’s ass pressing and rubbing like that should’ve been enough.

But Cassian stayed hard — steady, in control, unmoving. No release, no weakness. Kirja, disgusted and exhausted, felt a strange heat of her own building up. The mix of frustration and the thought that he might not even be aroused was starting to dig into her pride.

She was just about to snap and ask if he was a damn eunuch — because if this didn’t get him in the mood, nothing would — when she heard someone clear their throat. Her eyes flicked up, and she froze. The frustration vanished, replaced by a cold rush of disbelief.

Standing there was the woman she admired… no, worshiped. The kind of woman she never thought, that someone like her could ever become — Cardinal Analisa Morgnster.

Kirja went stiff, her face burning with humiliation, a flicker of hope crossing her mind that maybe Cassian would finally get scolded for what he’d done. But to her horror, Cassian only smirked.

“My liege, what brings you here?” he asked, tone calm and casual — one hand still resting lazily on Kirja’s ass, completely unfazed by the divine presence watching them.

“Do you want to die?” Analisa’s voice cut through the room, sharp and cold.

Kirja almost smiled — finally, someone was putting Cassian in his place. Analisa sounded exactly like the godlike figure she imagined her to be. But then, what came next left her stunned.

“Send her away. I have something important to discuss with you.”

Cassian smirked, his hand still firm on Kirja’s waist. “Nah,” he said casually, leaning back. “I’m busy with her. Just say it now — unless you’re shy about doing it in front of her.”

Analisa’s eyes narrowed, her calm cracking for a moment as she exhaled sharply. “It’s about the punishment…” she said finally, her voice quieter, a faint blush creeping across her face.

Cassian tilted his head, genuinely confused. “Punishment?”

Analisa’s irritation spiked; she clenched her fists before spitting out, “The punishment from yesterday. I didn’t take it then… so I’ll take it now.”

Cassian blinked once, then twice. “You came here… to get punished?”

Analisa didn’t blink. “Yes.”

Kirja went still, certain she’d misheard. A Cardinal — a woman people prayed to — just said that? Calm, straight-faced, like it was nothing?

Cassian leaned back in his chair, lips curling into a lazy grin. “You’re forgiven,” he said flatly. “No need for punishment. Now go — I’m in the middle of something.”

Analisa’s expression didn’t change — but the air around her did. The temperature dropped, mana thickening like smoke, pressing down on the room until Kirja could barely breathe.

She expected Cassian to be dead already — body torn apart, burned, something. No one spoke to Analisa Morgenster like that. No one lived after mocking her.

But Cassian just leaned back, completely at ease, resting his arm around Kirja’s waist like the Cardinal wasn’t even there.

“…You’re testing my patience, Cassian,” Analisa said quietly. Her tone wasn’t loud — but every word carried the weight of command, of divinity.

Cassian chuckled, completely unfazed, his tone flat and dismissive. “Like I said — fuck off. I’m in the middle of something.”

Kirja’s pulse spiked. ‘He’s mad…..he’s actually mad.’ Swallowing hard, she muttered, “I—I can go…”

Cassian smirked at her. “Relax. That horny old bitch just wants my dick.”

Kirja’s heart nearly stopped. He’s going to get us both killed. Panicked, she turned quickly toward Analisa, words stumbling out. “No… no, my liege! I don’t know what he’s saying—please, I’m not part of this!”

Analisa’s expression didn’t shift an inch. Her golden eyes stayed fixed on Cassian, cold and unreadable — the kind of stare that could make even seasoned warriors piss themselves. The air grew heavier, dense enough that Kirja could barely breathe.

Cassian, though, looked completely at ease. He leaned back, resting one arm lazily around Kirja’s waist while meeting Analisa’s gaze with a lazy grin.

Cassian let out a tired sigh. “Fine. I’ll slap that ass of yours, but don’t expect anything more. Got it? A few spanks and we’re done.” He waved Kirja off his lap, adding dryly, “If you want anything else, you’ll have to beg for it. Otherwise—nothing.”

Kirja blinked, still trying to process why Cassian wasn’t already reduced to ashes. Then she noticed Analisa’s expression — not angry, but oddly… eager. That only made her more confused.

Cassian looked at her and said evenly, “You can go for now. When I summon you, you’ll feel it through the slave mark. And if you ignore it…” — his tone dropped, calm but sharp — “you already know what happens next.”

Kirja hesitated, glancing once more at Analisa — a woman of such stature acting strangely submissive toward Cassian — and muttered under her breath, ‘What the hell…’ before nodding and heading out, leaving the two alone in the room.

Cassian set aside the fruit plate Kirja had left on the bed, a hint of disappointment in his voice as he said, low and casual, “My liege, you really ruined my fun, you know that?”

His eyes lingered on her — dressed again in those modest, holy robes, the picture of purity so untouchable that most men would probably fear to even look too long.

Cassian, of course, wasn’t most men.

He reached out and grabbed her breast through the fabric, squeezing firmly until she let out a muffled moan beneath her breath and veil. A faint, mocking smile crossed his lips. “So,” he said quietly, “how exactly are you planning to make up for it?”

Analisa let out a quiet moan, shame burning under her skin. She had just been disrespected by Cassian — openly, and in front of a lowly subordinate whose name she didn’t even know. And now, to answer his question this way… it stripped what little dignity she had left.

Her voice came out soft, almost trembling. “With… my body,” she said, her face flushing a deep red.

The words tasted like humiliation. For a brief moment, she wished she could just vanish — erase her own existence with a spell rather than feel the weight of her pride cracking like this.
