Chapter 655: Godlike Master Part 6
“How about the beast empire?” One Sect Leader asked.

The Grand Mistress of the Azure Path stepped forward

“We sent word to the Beast Empire,” she said. “So far, no reply. But one of our spies saw movement near the border—large beast tides gathering.”

A few murmurs broke out among the sect leaders.

“They’ve never cared much for balance,” she continued. “If they see weakness in the human domains, they might not join us. They might take the chance to strike and deal a heavy blow.”

The Supreme One didn’t interrupt.

“But there is still hope,” she went on, voice steady. “There’s one among them who once studied in our lands. A spirit beast who took human form and earned the rank of Titled One. If anyone can convince the Beast Kings to listen—it’s her.”

Someone in the crowd asked, “And where is she now?”

“She’s already crossed into beast territory to negotiate,”

Just as her words ended, a man with green hair suddenly sprang up from the ground. His appearance was strange—part human, part tree.

“I bring word from the forest,”

The Supreme One nodded. “Speak.”

“After the fall of Fang Zi City, another city was lost—but not to a giant sword this time. An army of tens of thousands swept through, each one wrapped in unnatural auras.”

“Tell us more,” The others insisted.

“Some gave off a black and red glow. Others pulsed with gold, or shimmered with streaks of azure. Even the weakest among them carried the strength of a Spirit Grand Master. The strongest were on par with Spirit Saints, and most had mastered multiple elements.”

He paused, struggling to breathe. Just explaining it rattled his nerves.

“As for their leader—his power couldn’t be measured by any normal standard. He stood above them all. Far beyond a Titled one… maybe even close to the mythical True God.”

The sect leader from one of the minor sect gripped his chair tightly.

“That… a True God?” someone muttered. “They said it’s been impossible to reach that level since ancient times. The only way to break through is to leave this world.”

Another voice cut in. “If it was really a True God, the world should’ve resisted it. Are you saying it’s something that doesn’t follow the rules of this realm?”

The green-haired man nodded slowly. “Yes. I believe that’s exactly what we’re dealing with.”

One of the sect leaders stepped forward, frowning. “Then what are we supposed to do? We’ve fought beasts, demons, and corrupted cultivators—but this… this is something else entirely.”

He looked around at the others. “If it’s beyond the world’s laws, then none of our rules apply. No seal, no formation, no realm suppression. Even our strongest techniques might fail.”

Another leader stepped forward. “We should fortify the closest city to the Central Plane and make our stand there. It’ll buy us time—to prepare, to set up defenses, and to gather anyone still willing to fight.”

Everyone nodded. It seemed like the best option right now.

Given time and resources, they could weave powerful formation.

“I don’t think delaying is a good idea,” the green-haired man interrupted . “Their leader controls life and death. The more his army kills… the larger it grows.”

The Grand Mistress’s eyes narrowed. “You mean they’re raising the dead?”

“Not just the dead. Even beasts, even fallen cultivators. Anyone they strike down becomes one of them. I’m afraid that if we keep waiting, they’ll reach a number over a million.”

The Sword Grandmaster clenched his fist. “A self-feeding army…Then every battle we lose only makes them stronger.”

The Supreme One’s face hardened.

“This isn’t just a war…It’s a plague.”

“If they reach a million… there will be no sects left. No clans. No world to defend.”

His next words came cold and final.

“We need to move now. Set up a main fortress four cities from here—and layer it with every formation we have. Focus everything on that one location. No holding back. No second plan.”

“Go forth, my legions,” Reign declared lazily, resting on the back of his giant elephant-shaped summon.

The creature’s massive steps shook the ground, each one leaving cracks in the dry earth.

Below him, a sea of warriors stood waiting. Their eyes glowed with strange colors—red, gold, and azure. Some still wore the torn armor of fallen sects. Others carried weapons that pulsed with dark energy.

His army already grew to tens of thousands. And that was just from the locals of this world.

Beside him stood Kang San, watching the scene with a blank, numb expression.

His white hair fell over his red eyes, his face pale and sharp, almost like a vampire. The last trace of his old self was long gone. He had fully turned into a demon.

Dark energy pulsed around him. He had reached the level of Spirit Emperor—a feat that should’ve taken years of training.

But Reign didn’t care about rules. He reshaped the young man’s body again and again, each time pushing it further, stronger, faster.

Another city sounded its horns.

Echoing blasts rang across the valley, followed by the deep rumble of gates slamming shut.

“FIRE!”

Spirit cannons lit up the walls, firing bolts of glowing energy into the dark tide below.

booom!

booom!

booom!

Explosions shook the earth. Fire and smoke burst from the blasts, tearing through the front lines of the death army.

Limbs flew. Bodies shattered.

But the dead did not stay down.

Black mist swirled around the broken ones, pulling their bones and flesh back together.

“Don’t let those undead get near! Hold the line! We need to defend the city until back up arrives!”

Spirit masters scrambled into position and raised their bows. Rings of power appeared behind them—glowing circles of different colors.

They began pouring their spirit energy into their weapons. Arrows lit up, crackling with power.

“Ready!”

Hundreds of archers took aim from the walls.

“Loose!”

A barrage of spirit-charged arrows tore through the air, streaking across the sky like burning trails.
