Chapter 1387: An Unexpected Alliance
And if that were true, then he might be forced to confront them directly.

Acquiring the Omnithriallian corpse was going to be far more difficult than he had initially anticipated.

Things had become far more complicated than before.

Now, he truly understood why Iyriath Zi’ria had warned him to tread carefully in all his dealings within the Spirit Realm.

“Do you have any knowledge about the Blessed Order of Divine Apostles?” Orion asked, seizing the opportunity to glean some information from her.

“That’s information related to the Vylkr spawns’ creator, Naka. I’m sorry, but I can’t share that,” Dakari replied, shaking her head.

Orion frowned.

“What kind of racial skill do you possess that gives you the ability to communicate with these formidable spirit beasts?” he asked.

Dakari shook her head again and responded, “I’m sorry, but I can’t answer that. If they find out I’ve shared this information, they might try to kill me.”

Orion’s frown deepened. He eyed Dakari from head to toe, trying to deduce what her skill might be that made her so valuable.

Orion found his curiosity about her growing.

Seeing Orion’s intense gaze, Dakari coughed lightly. “Ahem! Although I’m also intrigued by your potent fertility that allows you to impregnate a spirit beast, I’m not about to volunteer myself and become some kind of living centre of attraction and fascination.”

She leaned back, withdrawing from her previously close position. Having witnessed the Spirit Beast women Orion had taken in exchange for information, she assumed he might be considering a similar trade with her just because she needed his help.

Although she felt pity for those women, as they weren’t aware of what fate awaited them yet, it wasn’t her place to interfere.

They had accepted the risks when they made their decision.

“Still, if you’re thinking of going after me, I must warn you; there are Kings who are interested in me. The moment I agree to your proposal, you’d have to face them,” she warned with a mischievous smile.

“Unless you’re ready for that kind of conflict, just thinking about it would bring more trouble than it’s worth.”

If it were any other god, the mere mention of a King would have been enough to strike fear. But the god before her was an anomaly, someone capable of handling multiple Princes simultaneously.

To deter him, she had to mention more than one King.

“You don’t need to worry. I have no such intentions toward you, nor do I wish to start unnecessary conflict because of it,” Orion responded calmly.

Dakari exhaled quietly, relieved.

“One last question: is there any other information you’d like to share, anything that hasn’t been mentioned yet? Sharing more would make me more inclined to accept this transaction,” Orion said.

Dakari’s eyes lit up, and she nodded quickly.

“There is one more piece of information I haven’t shared yet,” she explained, “The King, who is observing the conflict, is said to have been passing through from the Upper Layer… but I believe that was a lie. After connecting the dots, I suspect he came directly to observe the situation, or on behalf of the Kings from the Upper Layer.”

She paused, her expression growing serious.

“Regardless of the reason, a battle with him wouldn’t just shake the Middle Layer, it would draw the attention of the Upper Layer as well.”

She glanced at Orion. “Also, I’m not sure if you’ve noticed, but the reason the King’s aura was allowed to linger here is because he’s interested in taking the Seven-Headed Hydra as a partner.”

Her expression darkened. “He might even be trying to recreate the phenomenon she triggered, and his lingering aura may have been a warning… to you and the others.”

“As for whether he’s noticed her disappearance… I don’t know,” she finished quietly.

Orion nodded slowly. “Okay. I’m pleased with the information you’ve shared. I accept your proposal.” There was no reason to delay when vital information regarding Naka was at stake.

“That’s good,” Dakari said, her body visibly relaxing as if a burden had been lifted from her shoulders.

“So… when do we leave?” she asked curiously.

“We’ll leave immediately,” Orion responded.

Hearing his words, Dakari’s gaze flickered with excitement and realisation. She remembered that gods were specialised in creating clones, similar to their Spirit Beasts’ Avatars, but with fewer restrictions and more versatile uses.

And with the strange power the Supreme Leader’s mysterious wife had used to create a significant number of clones during the gathering, none of which were weaker than the other, she understood that Orion would be sending a clone to accompany her.

Nonetheless, she wasn’t the least bit dissatisfied. As long as his wives, those mysterious, powerful women beside him, came along, she was sure her chances of rescuing her sister from the clutches of the Vylkr entities would be even higher.

It also put her mind at ease that they were taking precautions, indicating they took her warnings seriously.

“Will your wives also be coming with you?” Dakari asked to confirm.

“Of course they will. If I don’t take them with me, they’ll be angry and make a fuss about it. So I’ve got no other choice but to bring them,” Orion replied with a chuckle.

“Do you need to make any preparations before we head out?” he asked curiously.

“No, I’ve already made all of my preparations before arriving here,” Dakari responded, shaking her head. “We can head out immediately.”

“Alright, you may leave. Please wait for me outside. I need to discuss this matter with my wives so we can make our own plans,” Orion replied.

Celeste, Greta, and Gina were already in the room and had observed the entire conversation unfold, though Dakari couldn’t see them.

Still, some matters required privacy without her presence.

“I’ll be taking my leave then,” Dakari said with a nod.

She stood up, bowed respectfully to Orion, then turned and exited the room.

A few minutes later, Celeste, Greta, and Gina materialised around the table.

Orion nodded, and they began their discussion.

They hadn’t expected to journey to the Lower Layer, which was more viscous than the Middle Layer, so soon after initiating their plans to engage in the conflict between the Spirit Beasts Coalition and the Divine Corps. So, they quickly began their preparations.

Although their strength far surpassed that of any being below the true god level, it had still been halved the moment they stepped into the Spirit Realm. None of them had fought a King before. Not even Ilse or any of the ancient goddesses knew about the Kings’ abilities.

All they had to gauge their chances of emerging victorious were mere speculations.

Orion couldn’t ask any of the other Spirit Beasts either, as they too were unaware; otherwise, they wouldn’t have gathered here after sensing a King-ranked Spirit Beast aura. The only one left to ask was Dakari, as she appeared to be more knowledgeable about the Kings.

Fortunately, he had only boasted to Vun-Shei and the others about being able to eliminate any King that dared attack them. Otherwise, it would’ve been improper to probe her for such information.

However, they weren’t worried about facing the King-level Vylkr entities. With the aid of the Iyria energy, they became the easiest enemies to handle.

After several minutes, the meeting concluded.

Orion, Celeste, Greta, and Gina nodded with a smile at the others seated around the table before disappearing from the room.

“Now that this is over, before you continue with your meeting, there’s someone who wants to meet you,” Celeste said, looking at Orion with a slight smile.

Greta and Gina nodded in agreement.

“Who is that?” Orion asked, raising a brow with a look of surprise.

He hadn’t expected that there would be someone they would recommend he meet before continuing with the meeting. He was immediately curious.

“It’s someone you know. It’s Iy’yra,” Greta responded with a mischievous expression.

Orion’s expression turned to confusion. He didn’t understand why Iy’yra would want to meet him at this moment.

“Sigh! Even now, you still can’t read the situation, brother,” Gina said, shaking her head in disappointment. “She can’t withstand her feelings for you any longer and finally wants to confess.”

Listening to Gina’s words, Orion’s confusion quickly turned to realisation, then surprise. He was sure he hadn’t flirted with Iy’yra. Their relationship was at best similar to J’garin and several other Spirit Beasts who had sworn their loyalty to him.

He knew there had to be a reason, but he couldn’t figure out what it was.

“I thought you were an expert after picking up so many wives, but you’re helpless,” Gina added sarcastically, sighing.

“Stop joking around, Gina,” Celeste said, lightly tapping Gina’s forehead with her knuckle.

Celeste refocused her gaze on Orion and explained the situation.

After she finished, Orion nodded with a meaning expression on his face.

He hadn’t expected that Iy’yra would willingly offer herself to him, not for affection, but to enact revenge for what had been done to her and her race.
