With Nathan around sharing a lot of information about the others and with Camille who was also adding something in it, he and the others learned a lot together with Thorn who had accumulated a lot in just 2 days of staying with Nathan.

Jane even mentioned that if Nathan took care of a baby, the baby he was taking care of would probably be able to talk very early and know more things than other babies.  Because with him around who was always talking with others, as long as he also brought the baby with him, the baby will surely be able to talk earlier than others and know more as he or she was already exposed to watching others speaking a lot and talking about different things.

He asked Treyton to make a metal box enough for Thorn to use on top of their RV.

After Treyton made the box, Luciel asked Wes to put soil in it before releasing Thorn from its flower pot to the box prepared for it.

Luciel also asked Thorn to grow bigger so that it could properly attack the zombies that were surrounding them.

Thorn happily grew to its original size and then began attacking zombies that it could see to the direction where Luciel pointed at.

Luciel had already instructed Thorn to try and control the kinds of spines that it could launch so that it wouldn’t waste its plant energy by using his strengthened spines to zombies that could actually be dealt with using his ordinary spines.

Luciel let Thorn try to have the improved spines that it has together with the regular spines on all sides.

However, Thorn really couldn’t do it yet so Luciel said, “Then try your regular spines first.

If you could deal with most of the zombies using your regular spines then use them first as you are still training.

You could save your plant energy to use it in your growth than use it to develop stronger vines.

Make sure to practice your aim and only use the sides where there isn’t anyone around as your practice area as I already told the others that you would also be training.” Thorn doesn’t know how to aim yet and was just haphazardly launching its spines so it’s better to have its own area to avoid accidentally hurting the others.

When Thorn started, it really just launched its spines to the oncoming zombies.

In the end, Thorn didn’t manage to hit the zombies properly and the zombies were still advancing to where they were.

[Why can’t I hit them!] Thorn said with frustration while using more of the spines it had to hit the oncoming zombies.

The others had been considerate and left the side where the zombies weren’t that close to them so Thorn still had time to hit them more even if he missed killing them for a longer time.

“Don’t just keep launching your spines like that.

Look, you used a lot of your spines already but you aren’t hitting them in the right place.

You can also slow them down further by aiming at their feet.

Then you’ll have more time aiming at their heads.” [Ok, I’ll try.] Thorn tried again but still didn’t get it right.

Luciel asked for some of its spines and then controlled them to aim at the feet of two zombies that were moving faster than the others, and then aim at their heads after they fell and could only crawl towards them.

After Thorn saw what he did, it finally had a clear idea how to do it properly.

Thorn began to target the zombies like how Luciel did it but its progress was still slow.

Even though Thorn couldn’t hit the target properly yet after trying, at least it was closer and it was also clear that Thorn was finally aiming somewhere unlike when it first launched its spines.

At least Thorn was still able to kill the zombies in the area he was responsible for before they had to move somewhere even though it only managed to kill the zombies when they’re already very near their RV.

Of course, the state of the zombies Thorn killed were also not in a good state as their bodies were covered with a lot of spines protruding everywhere.

They had a lot of spines from spines that Thorn launched but didn’t manage to hit the right target, so the zombies were covered with a lot of spines which also clearly indicated that Thorn failed a lot of times.

After the first batch of zombies was killed, the state of the second batch of zombies was slightly better as there were fewer spines in their bodies.
