403: Chapter 402: Fighting zombie rats 403: Chapter 402: Fighting zombie rats Luciel made sure to create a half-meter-thick barricade after what Treyton and the others had built.

He also made the height only two meters because the others had to stand on them to fight the zombie rats.

It was better to have the barricades made by Treyton and the others as additional protection for those who had to fight than to expose everyone in the open.

He spread the vines as fast as he could and then jumped to the front where Treyton was.

Treyton was already standing in front, stepping on the metal barricade that he had erected.

The other members who had been arranged by Zam to fight in front saw that the vines were finally set up, so they also followed immediately and climbed up the vines to confront the zombie rats head-on.

Just as Luciel stepped on the vines and looked outside, he heard Treyton speaking loudly to the cars behind them.

“If you guys are willing to fight, then come in.

If you want to continue running, then go!” “We’re coming in!” someone inside the cars immediately responded loudly.

Those cars were only ten meters away, so after hearing their response, Treyton controlled the metal barricade to open a section.

Luciel also moved the vines away from the area Treyton had opened.

As soon as they saw the opening, the car at the very front rushed inside, hurriedly followed by the others.

They didn’t stop immediately but drove in until they made sure there was enough space for all their cars before finally stopping.

“Don’t let them climb over the barricades!

Start killing those zombie rats!” Treyton ordered, even before all the cars managed to enter their barricade.

Those who had long-range attacks, like Zam and the others, immediately began killing the zombie rats with their abilities.

After all the cars entered, Luciel and Treyton quickly closed the space they had opened and then joined the others in fighting the zombie rats.

Luciel controlled the vine in his hand and let it grow outside the metal wall Treyton had made.

Once it had grown long enough to reach his hand for easier control, he divided the vines into appropriate thickness and lengths so they could reach the zombie rats that were just eight meters away.

He split the vines into many parts and used them to strangle, pierce, and sweep away the zombie rats that were approaching.

Using the vines, he killed many zombie rats but their numbers were overwhelming.

Visibly, there wasn’t much progress because more zombie rats would appear right after he dealt with others.

If not for the occasional piles of rat corpses appearing from time to time, it would have looked like he hadn’t managed to kill any at all.

It was the same with the others.

Treyton had been blasting numerous zombie rats with lightning and launching metal spikes shaped like thorns at others.

Zam was also firing countless ice thorns at the zombie rats.

Wes and Mia, standing on the earth walls they had erected, used them as a medium, burying large numbers of zombie rats with their abilities or impaling them by suddenly raising sharp earth spikes where the rats were.

Nathan and Liam, who had the strongest fire abilities, were also burning large numbers of zombie rats.

Those with wind abilities were slicing and tearing the rats apart with wind blades, while those with water abilities used sharp water blades to cut them down.

All those who had long-range abilities were stationed on every side of the walls they had erected, killing countless zombie rats as they attacked.

Within just a minute, the entire area had been surrounded by swarms of zombie rats.

Everyone was doing their best to keep them from reaching the barricades.

On all sides, they managed to contain the zombie rats to at least eight meters away from the walls.

Their aim and coordination were precise enough to maintain that distance, but they couldn’t push the rats any farther.

As soon as they cleared out the front line, more zombie rats would immediately fill in the empty space left by the dead ones.

There were simply too many of them.

Even when Luciel looked toward the direction the rats were coming from, he couldn’t see the end of the swarm.

According to Nate’s earlier report, when they were still on the run, at least a full kilometer of ground had been covered with zombie rats.

That meant they had no choice but to keep fighting until every last one was dead or until the horde moved somewhere else.

But with the number of people they had, the zombie rats probably wouldn’t back off and would persist in attacking them.

They had more than six hundred people with them, probably over seven hundred if they included all their members and the additional people who had just come in.

So, unless there were other groups nearby with even greater numbers than theirs, the zombie rats would most likely continue attacking them.

While everyone focused on killing as many zombie rats as they could, the people who had arrived after them quickly got out of their cars once they parked.

Yang, who wasn’t participating in the battle, was already waiting nearby to talk to the people who just entered.

As those people disembarked, Nathan, who was fighting zombie rats on the side, glanced toward them and said loudly, “Huh?

Isn’t that Cloud?” “It’s indeed him,” Treyton replied after taking a quick glance in their direction.

“By the way Mr.

Clark acted back then, I thought he was already back at the northern base.

I didn’t expect to meet him here.” When Luciel heard Treyton mention Mr.

Clark, he immediately remembered the old man he had met before, and the capable peer that Treyton had spoken of.

Nathan’s voice had been loud enough that Cloud and the others heard him.

They turned toward Treyton’s group, their expressions showing surprise as they recognized them.

But because of the situation, Treyton and Cloud only exchanged a brief nod before Cloud turned to Yang to discuss where they would be positioned.
