Timeless Assassin - Chapter 846
Chapter 846: Space Travel
“So… I’m assuming that you have come here to learn the ancient transportation technique.”
Moltherak said, as Leo nodded calmly in response.
His entire strategy to save Veyr relied on this special space tunneling technique that would help him lead his army straight into the heart of the battlefield, bypassing the need for transportation crafts, as without doing so half his army would most likely die pointless deaths before ever getting a chance to land on the surface of ‘The Pit’.
“Before we begin, I must warn you, boy, that this method is ideally made for King level warriors, and that the strain it will put on your being will be unlike anything you have experienced before…
You will feel as if your body is being torn apart by spatial currents on all sides, and you will struggle just to maintain lucidity of thought….”
Moltherak warned, as his ancient golden eyes constricted slightly, his face turning tense as he tried to see whether Leo felt any hesitation at all.
“Imagine having your arms and legs chained to four wild rhinoceros.
Now imagine those rhinoceros running in four different directions as your body is stretched and split apart from the middle.
Now ten-thousandfold that pain, as you would not feel a pull in just four directions but rather every direction possible, with the intensity of that pull rising and falling constantly as you move through space.”
Moltherak warned, as Leo winced slightly just imagining such a brutal form of travel.
The rational part of his brain did not want him subjected to that kind of pain, while the logical part still whispered, ‘You have no other choice.’
As sighing deeply, Leo resigned himself to the fate that awaited him.
“Well, you can warn me all you want, but it’s not like I have another choice.
It’s either learn this method and try to save Veyr, or give up and let him die.
And I’m not willing to let my brother die without trying… so no matter the difficulty, I’m ready to learn.”
Leo replied, as Moltherak nodded in approval.
One needed such firm willpower to survive this method as a Monarch tier practitioner, and since Leo possessed it, Moltherak decided to begin the actual training.
“I will impart the basics of this method to you in stages.
And the first stage is learning how to create an aura shield.”
Moltherak began, as he unleashed a sliver of his true aura before wrapping it around his body like a tight blanket, the crimson glow tightening gradually until it settled against his scales like a dense second skin.
“This is an aura shield, a technique where the same killing intent you currently use to suppress others and assert dominance is forced into a defensive state by layering it around your body like a thick blanket capable of withstanding immense external pressure without collapsing.”
Moltherak explained as he stepped forward slowly, allowing Leo to observe how the shimmering layer clung to his massive form with the natural ease of true skin, as it shifted with every subtle movement while radiating a fortified depth that could endure aura pressure from warriors far above Leo’s realm.
“Extending your killing intent outward to intimidate or overwhelm is something even talented children can manage instinctively, however, wrapping that same aura around yourself for defence is something far more complex.”
Moltherak continued, his gaze sharpening as the crimson light rippled across the chamber walls, “because killing intent exists to dominate and destroy, not to protect, so forcing it to spread thin around your body and maintain shape is asking it to act against its very nature.”
Moltherak reasoned, as Leo narrowed his eyes at this explanation, the gears in his head turning at full speed as he absorbed this knowledge like a sponge.
“That is why only warriors with elite level aura control can manage this, because to create an aura shield, you need to force your aura to defy its base nature, which is a feat only a very few can perform.”
Moltherak said, his tail sweeping across the stone floor in a slow arc as he studied Leo’s expression carefully.
“All beings whether mortal or immortal possess a survival reflex where their aura surges violently when sensing danger, as it rises to clash with the threat head on.
However, that instinct is like trying to fight fire with fire, or like trying to counter a water jet coming your way by releasing another in its direction.”
Moltherak said, as Leo imagined a picture of two water jets colliding in his head.
“But what we aim to achieve is the opposite, since we are trying to stop a water jet with a water wall, something stable and reinforced rather than explosive and reactive, which requires overriding your base instinct completely.”
He explained, as he tapped his claw lightly against the hardened aura layer enveloping him, the surface shimmering like crystallized flame.
“When you learn to do this properly, you will finally have some protection against the cruel laws of the universe.
As oddly, the only elements that can interact with the laws are your aura and your soul.”
Moltherak concluded, as he lowered his claw, letting the shield settle smoothly around him before turning his golden gaze toward Leo.
“The laws?”
Leo asked, sounding confused, as Moltherak chuckled slightly at his words.
“Yes, the laws.”
“What I’m going to teach you is how to exploit a universal law to your advantage, by bending it just enough to allow you to create a space tunnel where vast distances can be covered by travelling just a few steps.
However, bending the law is not easy, and hence the price one needs to pay for it is exceptionally high.
Usually, King level beings can withstand the spatial disturbance caused by space tunneling without much trouble.
However, to do the same at the Nascent Soul Stage, you will need to learn a few additional defensive methods that would allow you to battle against the universe’s basic forces longer than any mortal should.”
Moltherak explained, as Leo finally felt a bigger picture forming in his mind on what Moltherak was trying to achieve here.
