Chapter 464: Honor

‘These fools don’t deserve a void-tier curse array,’ Kidd thought to himself as he made through the crowd and headed toward his target.

He was unable to believe how easily he infiltrated a void-tier curse array. All he had to do was prove he was a C.I.B. agent and here to support Madam Dee3 in her time of grief.

He had huge respect for Madam Dee3 and even thought of her as his mentor. He believed she was fit for this mantle because she was his only intellectual equal in both ‌worlds. Most of his curse droid tech and advancements were based on and derived from her early curse tech studies. Her work saved him a decade’s worth of detours to reach his present achievements.

What awed him most about Dee3 was that her work was solely hers. She was basically the founder of the curse tech and gadgets. Meanwhile, his curse droids were mostly derived from his innate curse art and Dee’s work. The only solace he had was that Dee3 had decades and a lot of support to achieve what she had, while he was only introduced to the ‘World of Curses’ two years ago.

As Dee’s self-proclaimed student and intellectual equal, Kidd had always wanted to meet her. He didn’t know that fate would present him with the opportunity to fulfill his wish his way.

Kidd was beginning to think this was the best vacation he had so far, including the one when his parents took him to Disney World on his fourth birthday. He hated Disney World or any crowded place, but he was happy knowing how much his parents loved it. They were like chain smokers who got a whiff of ‌cigarette smoke after almost three years of abstaining from it.

Now, that was a fun day. Today couldn’t compare to that unless he got to meet and discuss curse tech and its future with Dee3. Kidd was eager to meet her, but knew work took priority above all else. So, he planned to subdue the target asap and then use the god given opportunity to meet his dream mentor.

Then, maybe, just maybe, Dee3 would realize he was her only intellectual equal and choose to be his mentor. And once he took the Island of Great V. Dower back from his traitorous uncle and Roanoan mutants, she would move there permanently and join his council to help guide Great V. Dower to prosperity.

“Hey, asshole, watch where you are going. You almost ran into me,” a rude and sharp voice awakened Kidd from his thoughts. He ignored it, planning to go on his way, but the rude voice sounded once again, warning him, “Don’t you dare leave without apologizing, asshole.”

Looking at the redhead teenager dressed in a backless black evening gown highlighting her underdeveloped curves, Kidd went through the information Trixie had compiled on the redhead, running her face through every known database. Learning she was a mere agent in training, Kidd’s indifferent face turned stern as he sorely warned her, “Kid, get lost unless you want to get terminated from the agent training program.”

“Who are you calling a kid, you jerkwad? You get lost before I birch your ass with the biggest switch you have ever seen,” Ava roared, seeing the disdain in the blonde jerk’s eyes for her. She wanted to extinguish it on the spot but was holding back because her mother specifically warned about what awaited her at home if she created trouble for her. Also, she didn’t want to ruin her makeup and dress as, for once in her life, she had dolled up to impress the boy of her dreams.

“I would love to see you try after I stripped your mother of her rank and transferred to the Great North as a glorified sky-tier janitor,” Kidd muttered to the redhead, seeing her loud mouth attracting unnecessary attention toward him. He didn’t have time to reason with the girl, so he decided to threaten her to stop kicking up a fuss over nothing.

“Now you’ve done it. How dare you threaten my mother, you piece of shit!” Listening to Kidd’s words, Ava was immediately triggered. She instinctively charged at him, prepared to fight to death for her mother’s honor.

Honor?

By saying that he would demote her mom to a janitor in the Frozen North, the blonde asshole was saying her mother’s achievements and sacrifices over several decades were worth nothing, especially to C.I.B. whom she had single-heartedly served. Even prioritizing it over her family.

Ava was not one to sit by and take someone trashing and insulting her mother like that. She planned to see this through, teaching the blonde asshole that her mother was not some rank and number that he could have promoted or demoted at his whim, but a hero that the C.I.B. didn’t deserve.

Not to mention, how dare he threaten her mother to her? The blonde jerk would be lucky if he left here on his two legs. She didn’t care if her makeup was ruined, for her mother’s honor, she was even willing to pay the ultimate price — the love of her life.

“Are you crazy!” Kidd yelled in panic seeing Ava was actually crazy enough to attack him in the public. Now he regretted not ending it with a simple sorry. Seeing a thick beam of light fill his eyes, Trixie immediately activated the curse force field. Covering Kidd in a dome of a translucent red barrier.

However,Trixie’s miscalculated, the light beam somehow managed to pass through the translucent barrier and hit Kidd squarely on his chest. Throwing Kidd out of the curse force field dome and onto the ground. The surrounding curse users immediately moved out of the way, fearing him crashing into them.

Ava wasn’t done. Noticing her opponent’s defenses and means, she turned into a large drill pile made of Froslight, planning to pile drive this blonde son of a bitch six hundred feet under and turn this place into his grave.

“Holy shit!” Sonia and Layla, who were checking the guests before letting them into the array, finally noticed the commotion and ran over yelling, “Ava, stop!”
