The SSS Ranked Villain's Return - Chapter 416
Chapter 416: A Bit of Food
Neraxis’s eyes dramatically widened as he looked around.
“Huh? Where?”
“Y-Your shoulder!” Girard said, pointing at Sparky. His finger was trembling, but despite that, his guard was up.
It was almost as if he was expecting to fight here and now, but clearly, Sparky was too tame and cute to do anything to these poor demi-humans.
Or that was what Neraxis thought, when all of a sudden, he felt something warm on his shoulder.
He thought a fireball was about to be sent flying through the entire inn, but instead, he was met with holy dragon piss. In short, Sparky thought Neraxis was a litter box.
Noticing that, Celina’s eyes widened as she grabbed Sparky by the tail and threw him to the other side of the inn. It seemed like he was used to such treatment as he flapped his wings right as he was about to hit the wall, suspending himself in midair and slowly flying back toward Neraxis.
Just this time, he landed on the opposite shoulder, on the single one where he hadn’t marked his territory.
“Sparky…” Neraxis muttered coldly. “Piss on me again and I’m going to have you neutered.”
Sparky curled up into a cute ball, feigning fear.
Neraxis nodded in satisfaction and turned toward Girard with a faint smile.
“You wouldn’t happen to have a spare shirt lying around, would you?”
“…”
Girard didn’t say a word, and it seemed like he didn’t need to as Celina tapped Neraxis on his elbow and handed him a white shirt.
“I got this from your closet… You look a bit skinnier now, so I’m sure it will fit.”
“Skinnier…?” Neraxis mumbled in shock. Still, he wasn’t going to question it.
He went to the inn’s corner and swiftly changed his shirt. Right after, Celina arrived and deatomized the shirt with several thousand dagger slashes in less than a second.
And all of that happened while Girard stared at the trio speechlessly.
“I… Um… Can I get you something to eat?” Girard managed to ask. “We have a fish special today. It’s grilled salmon.”
“Are you the innkeeper?” Neraxis asked with a raised brow.
Girard calmed down and shook his head. “I’m not. This place doesn’t have an innkeeper. People just come and go whenever they please, and the moment you order food, it arrives within a few minutes onto your table. It’s like magic.”
Like magic, huh? Neraxis glanced toward one spot in particular.
He couldn’t directly feel mana, but from the fierce pressure alone, Neraxis was sure there was someone in this inn who was at least Primordial ranked.
It was a very high rank, and Neraxis, at least in his current state, might struggle a little bit if a fight were to break out.
After all, he wasn’t sure how he would defend Celina, who was right beside him.
Nonetheless, he put away those thoughts and nodded at Girard.
“Get us three pieces of salmon then. Maybe some drinks too. Do you have any kind of wine?”
“This place has everything,” Girard replied flatly. “Just pick and choose at the front desk. Trust me, you’ll see how amazing this place really is.”
With those words, Girard walked away to his own table. He sat around a few lizardmen and a single draconian.
Yet he still pointed at the front desk, as if Neraxis and Celina were too stupid to figure it out.
Even so, when they arrived at the front desk, a holographic menu appeared in front of them, displaying only a couple of things.
[Dionysus’s Food Bar][Daily Special: Grilled Salmon][You may order whatever you please. The restaurant will provide you with your food within a maximum of 10 minutes.]
“Dionysus?” Neraxis repeated. That name sounds a little familiar…
He could’ve sworn he had met a man named Dionysus in his Void Realm. He was a man who liked to drink and party. He later went on to become a god, but it didn’t take him long to gamble his title away.
But despite the lack of title, he was a man who could be trusted… as long as it didn’t come to gambling or drinking.
Haha… I wonder if it’s the same guy. I doubt it’s possible, but it’s still pretty fun.
Neraxis ordered the Grilled Salmon, and also did a few sides of ice cream, french fries, a salad, fifteen cheeseburgers, twenty pizzas, five lobsters, and lastly, a single slice of apple pie.
Even if it was free, Neraxis set out to be a modest man, so he didn’t dare order several hundred dishes at once.
However…
“Um…” Celina mumbled. “Is there an undo button?”
Neraxis tilted his head. “What did you order?”
“I ordered what I wanted, it’s just…” Celina’s cheeks flushed. “I thought it asked me how many pizzas I’ve eaten, so I typed 10,000… But it turns out it asked me how many of each item I wanted.”
Pfft…
“It did not ask you that…” Neraxis said with a chuckle.
Then, a weird thought came to mind. “Wait, are you dyslexic?”
“The what now?” Celina tilted her head. “What’s that?”
Oh, right. Wrong universe. This one uses different names. My universe had far simpler names. Made it much easier to not have misunderstandings.
Neraxis smiled. “It’s nothing. It just means some letters appear differently for you. Maybe they bounce around, or maybe they appear in the wrong order. I can’t say for sure how it works since I never really bothered with it.”
Celina fell into thought for a moment, then replied. “Dylaxia? You must be talking about that. And… I’m not sure if I have it. Only a year ago did my reading skills plummet. It’s not that bad though, I can always use mana to read and write. It’s much simpler that way.”
It was an interesting idea, but even so, Neraxis was going to do a little fix later, right after he had his food.
And speaking about food, the inn suddenly expanded on the western end. A large table appeared, and on it, several hundred dishes.
Or that was what it seemed, but the inn continued to grow longer and longer. The table was getting longer alongside it until eventually, several thousand dishes were scattered around the table.
Some of them were plain tea and cheesecakes, but their sheer volume was a little…
“Well…” Neraxis scratched his cheek.
“I am a little hungry.”
