Chapter 411: Celina
Neraxis anxiously strode around the room, feeling as if a headache was about to form once again.

But that was when a voice resounded in his mind, and although it wasn’t the one he was expecting, it was fine nonetheless.

[So one down, one hundred more to go? I lost count already, don’t mind me,] Raguel remarked plainly.

If it makes you feel any better, I lost count as well. My memory is still a bit fuzzy about all the people I used to know, Neraxis replied with a chuckle. So how is it wherever you are? Did you settle down?

[If you’re talking about building a house or something, then no. I’m still trying to master your powers,] Raguel replied. [Frankly, I don’t know how you manage it. I can’t exert more than 1% of the Void’s powers. I’m pretty sure I’m only exerting 0.0001% at most.]

Hearing that, Neraxis wasn’t surprised in the slightest. After all, at the peak of his power, he was definitely one of the strongest beings in the universe.

As for Raguel, he was like a toddler. He had only recently gotten a body, and there was no way he could use Neraxis’s Void that easily. If anything, it could take years, if not longer, to even begin using 1%.

I guess you’re going to have something to look forward to after I’m dead, Neraxis replied with a distant smile. I don’t plan to live as an immortal… that kind of life is lonely, and even with people around me, I get the feeling it’ll be the same cycle again.

Raguel remained quiet, but even so, Neraxis felt like he was listening attentively.

And just a moment later, he got a reply.

[Well, I hope I’ll get to meet your children before you die or something. Though I’m sure you’ll change your mind when the time comes. After all, when you’ve got little Neraxises running around, you’ll definitely sing a different tune,] Raguel said with a chuckle.

Before Neraxis could reply, he heard a slight groan from Raguel’s side, and a moment later, Raguel spoke.

[Uhh… sorry about that. I’m in a bit of a situation at the moment. Not sure when I’ll be back, but I probably won’t die. If I die, you’ll know. See ya. Good luck on the reconciliation, and make sure to use protection!]

With those words, Neraxis felt the connection he had with Raguel fade away slightly.

It was still there in the back of his mind, but it wasn’t as strong as he had hoped it would be.

However, they weren’t children, so Neraxis wouldn’t linger on Raguel’s departure too much.

If he wants to come back, then he will. If not, I don’t really care, Neraxis thought and sat down on the lone bed that existed in this small makeshift room.

And of course, he waited, and waited. Yet after roughly an hour had passed, Neraxis had started to grow slightly worried.

What if Evangeline asked Celina, and she said no? Rejection was so plain, but he wasn’t exactly someone who deserved any of this in the first place.

For them to still have an interest in him after all this time had passed was a blessing in and of itself.

But right as his negative thoughts seemed to have come back, he felt someone approach rapidly from the distance.

He couldn’t sense mana that well, but the crackling sound of air itself was a dead giveaway.

The crackling stopped as that certain someone landed on the rooftop, and a moment later, he heard footsteps.

The footsteps neared the hatch where one could get inside this room, and as expected, a slender leg soon made its way down, followed by another.

And then, the woman he was waiting to see had finally jumped down, her lustrous black hair being illuminated by the distant horizon that had bounced into the room through tens of mirrors.

She pushed her hair back behind her ear and met his gaze with her beautiful crimson eyes.

Of course, it was none other than Celina herself.

She wore a blank, almost unreadable expression, and yet, the faint trembling of her lip didn’t go unnoticed by Neraxis who, after steeling his resolve, slowly approached her.

Instead of expressing himself in words, he decided to do something else entirely.

Neraxis gently wrapped his hand around her waist, and with his remaining hand, he lifted her chin.

He leaned in and delivered a soft kiss on her lips, causing Celina’s brain to practically shut down from the surprise attack.

But she didn’t push away. Instead, Celina’s previous serious exterior faltered, replaced by a trembling woman who had a single tear running down her cheek as she indulged in the kiss.

The kiss went beyond minutes as the two slowly moved backward, and eventually, they fell onto the bed, breaking the kiss with an accidental head bump that nearly shattered Neraxis’s skull.

“Sorry…” Celina muttered with a faint smile and kissed him on the bump on his forehead.

She moved her face away, and her trembling returned. “I… We thought you died. Even Evangeline wasn’t sure what was happening with you. She couldn’t contact you, nor could she find you in any of the worlds she explored.”

Neraxis shook his head. “I’m alive, and I plan to stay alive for at least the next couple of years, so don’t worry.”

He cupped her cheeks and gave her a peck on the lips. “I missed you.”

Celina smiled softly and returned the kiss. “I missed you too… I don’t even know how to act around you, is that weird?”

“Not at all,” Neraxis replied. “That’s how I’m feeling as well, and I still have more than ten more women to talk to eventually… it’s going to be a headache.”

Celina pinched his cheek, a faint pout on her face. “Don’t talk about other women while you’re with me…”

Her cheeks turned slightly red as she sat up on his chest and began braiding her hair, flustered.

She turned her head away slightly, embarrassed.

“W-When we’re alone, you’re mine, and mine alone. G-Got it?”
