Chapter 410: The Girls
Neraxis stared at her speechlessly for a few moments, then gave her a peck on the forehead.

“Don’t worry, I won’t. I was just kidding,” he assured her.

“Good.” Evangeline pinched his cheek, then walked over to the bathroom, turning her head slightly in his direction. “I’m going to hop into the shower, and after that, we’re going to pay the other girls a visit. They’ve been waiting for you as well.”

With those words, she slammed the bathroom door, not letting him answer. Instead, Neraxis simply remained sitting on the bed, processing what Evangeline had just said.

He had no intention of meeting the other girls. Frankly, all he wanted to do now was snuggle up with Evangeline and rest forever.

But there was a family he had to come back to, and of course, tens of girls, some of whom had feelings for him, and others who simply stayed around.

Even so, while he spent his time thinking, Evangeline got washed up and left the bathroom, fully dressed in a black dress that accentuated her perfect curves.

She gave him a nod and extended her hand.

“Come on, I’ll teleport us over to the mountain home. You’ll get to meet everyone at once,” Evangeline said energetically.

However, Neraxis wasn’t so inclined to do it. In fact, he shook his head and proposed a different plan.

“Can I… meet them one by one?”

“Seriously?” Evangeline raised a brow. “I’m not saying no, but I didn’t take you for a person who’s anxious about something like this. Are you sure you’re the Neraxis I knew?”

Neraxis rolled his eyes. “I’ve been doing nothing for the last couple eons. Don’t be surprised that I’m acting slightly different. And no, it’s not social anxiety, I just feel like I’d disappoint them if I meet them right now as I am.”

After all, he was a wreck, and if he showed this side of himself to his mother or the girls, he would feel guilty.

His emotions were unstable, he was powerless, and furthermore, he couldn’t even remember the faces of most of the girls there. If he accidentally mixed them up in the heat of the moment, that would be deadly.

And since he wasn’t exactly suicidal, Neraxis decided to take the easy way out by begging Evangeline to be the matchmaker.

She declined at first, but after countless times of pestering her, she finally gave in.

“Alright, fine.” Evangeline pouted, stomping on the floor and approaching him. “But promise me one thing… you’ll let me choose the girls I want you to meet first.”

“Why would I have to promise something like that to you?” Neraxis said when all of a sudden, a punch came flying at his face, but soon stopped, making him realize what he had just said.

“I meant… you don’t have to ask me for such simple matters. You can pick whoever you want, whether it’s my family or the girls. I’ll trust your judgment,” Neraxis corrected himself, a shiver running down his spine at Evangeline’s fierce glare.

“Very well, Neraxis,” Evangeline mumbled. “Do you want me to bring them to this hotel room?”

“Where we had sex? No.” Neraxis shook his head with a chuckle. “Let’s go to a park or something. Is that still a thing after the Dreamspire Tower vanished?”

“You’re asking very old man questions now,” Evangeline remarked. “But yes, aside from the population moving out of this continent in fear of it being cursed, nothing else changed. You just have to avoid the monsters that are swarming the world, and you’re fine.”

When she mentioned monsters, Neraxis suddenly recalled something.

“Say… how powerful is Aurelia?” he asked. “The others too… the ones I had turned into Sun Vampires. All of them shared a portion of my power, and now that my power is gone, what happened to them?”

“Hmm… it’s hard to say,” Evangeline replied, tilting her head. “They are around Transcendent rank now, and each one of them has infinite mana. So that’s something.”

So some things were kept, at least that’s good, Neraxis thought, a wave of relief washing over him.

But that was when Evangeline took a step forward and grabbed him by the collar. In an instant, he was lifted up, then hugged tightly.

It was almost like she was treating him as some sort of pillow, but since Neraxis had the gracious opportunity of resting in between her breasts, he didn’t utter a word.

And just like that, he felt a subtle breeze against his back before finally, Evangeline let go of him, making him fall to the ground.

Thankfully, they weren’t in the air, but instead, on top of a roof. It took Neraxis only a single look to realize what kind of roof it was. After all, he had been here plenty of times during his days of donning the Eclipse persona.

It was Celina’s secret spot where she spent her time off from the academy. She had invited him here once during their date.

Just thinking about it made a small smile appear on his face, but at the same time, that meant Celina would be the first person he would see.

It was poetic, really.

She was the first girl he had seen after coming to this world, aside from his sister, of course.

But she was also someone who reminded him of the past, since the way they met was her stabbing him in the back, in the same way Alice had gotten him killed.

A dagger through the back… how did I even come to like her? She’s everything I hate in a woman… Neraxis thought with a sigh.

But even if the initial impression he had of her was that of a hateful woman who would betray him at any moment, he had come to trust her.

I was too naive in my past life, and I only have myself to blame.

Before he could continue with his wallowing, Evangeline bonked him over the head gently, snapping him out of his thoughts.

“I’m going to bring the first girl, get ready.”
