Chapter 1010: Chapter 1010 Delivering The News
After talking about Cherry, Hera turned her gaze to Zhane before speaking.

“My family runs several charitable foundations dedicated to helping people with all kinds of illnesses,” she said softly. “We might be able to find a donor through one of them. Dr. Zigheart has access to our database, and once he’s done examining Cherry, he’ll naturally check if there’s a compatible match.”

“Our foundation also keeps records of patients from remote mountain areas that most hospitals don’t have access to.”

Hera wasn’t exaggerating; most hospitals had limited data, especially on people living in isolated regions. But her foundation had long worked to bridge that gap, extending aid to underprivileged communities that were often overlooked.

Many of those people, grateful for her help, later volunteered their assistance to support her cause, helping the foundation grow even stronger.

That was why her foundation had access to places that others didn’t. Because of this, Hera felt she had more options than Zhane at the moment. After all, Zhane and his hospital could only rely on patients who were registered in their own system or within the global donor database, while Hera’s foundation reached even those who weren’t officially documented.

Hearing this, Zhane’s eyes widened slightly. He hadn’t thought of that possibility before. After all, they couldn’t just go around asking ordinary people if they wanted to become donors.

Sure, they could send out representatives to encourage people to sign a donor card or register as potential donors in case of an accident or unexpected death. If their organs remained viable, nearby hospitals could harvest them to save others’ lives.

However, such consent must be given voluntarily; no one could be pressured or coerced into signing a donor card, as that would be illegal and could easily cross into the territory of illicit organ harvesting.

But to think that Hera’s family’s charitable foundation was vast enough to reach even the most remote areas, it was truly remarkable.

Zhane had thought that partnering with the Averys to obtain rare herbs for their medicine production was already a huge achievement, but now he realized that gaining access to the Avery Foundation’s donor database was an even greater blessing. With that, their hospital could save countless more lives and treat illnesses once deemed untreatable.

Now he understood why Hera had personally sent Dr. Zigheart to examine Cherry. As he suspected, Hera already had a way to help her. Perhaps it was also because Dr. Zigheart was the head of the overseas laboratory dedicated to studying the world’s most challenging diseases.

If he had access to such a sensitive database, that could only mean he held a high-ranking position among Hera’s trusted subordinates.

Thinking back, Zhane recalled Bry’s uncle, the man he once operated on, and the agreement his hospital had signed with the Averys, allowing Dr. Zigheart’s patients to stay in their facilities while testing newly developed drugs.

Connecting all the dots, he could now see it clearly: his family’s hospital and Hera’s network were already working hand in hand toward a brighter future. And at that realization, a wave of pride and confidence swelled within him, for both their partnership and for the woman he loved.

Zhane had never imagined he would be so fortunate to meet someone like Hera. Overwhelmed by excitement and happiness, he couldn’t help but pull her into his arms.

As a doctor, his purpose had always been to heal and save lives, but with Hera by his side, he felt as though his ability to do good had expanded beyond measure.

“You really are my lucky star,” Zhane murmured, his voice low and filled with affection as he nuzzled her cheek, pressing soft kisses one after another. Zhane wasn’t usually this expressive, but in his excitement, he completely forgot to maintain his usual composure.

“Ahem! I think you’re just using that as an excuse to steal more kisses than necessary,” Rafael interjected, a trace of jealousy slipping into his tone. He mostly wanted to remind Hera that he was still there. Leo, on the other hand, said nothing, but the look he gave Hera spoke volumes.

Hera giggled softly as she noticed the three men looking at her. Though Rafael and Leo wore hints of jealousy on their faces, their eyes were filled with nothing but affection and quiet adoration.

In that moment, they were reminded of just how much Hera’s family had done for the nation, how many lives the Averys had touched through their countless charitable foundations. Because the family chose to work silently behind the scenes, many had long forgotten how deeply their efforts had shaped society.

They also understood now why Zhane had been so thrilled. Once the Avery Foundation and the Everett family began working together in the medical field, their partnership would bridge a powerful gap.

Hera’s foundation focused on helping the underprivileged gain access to life-saving care, while Zhane’s hospital could provide the top-tier surgeries and treatments they needed. The foundation would offer the funds and resources; the hospital would ensure every procedure’s success.

Together, they would make medical help more accessible, and in doing so, the Providence Everett Medical Center would reach new heights, while its doctors gained invaluable experience.

And more than that, this collaboration wouldn’t just strengthen the Avery family’s reputation; it would also elevate the Everetts’. Even if they wouldn’t earn much directly from this charitable work, their goodwill and integrity would speak volumes.

Public support from netizens would surge, and investors would quickly recognize their growing value. In the end, both families would be hitting two birds with one stone, helping others while also securing a brighter future for their own legacies.

Now, they couldn’t help but feel that riding someone’s coattails didn’t seem so bad after all, especially when that someone was Hera. In fact, it almost felt like she was becoming their sugar mommy, though none of them really minded.

Zhane certainly didn’t, as he ignored Rafael’s grumpy expression and continued showering Hera with playful, peppered kisses while she giggled from the ticklish affection.

By the time the day came to an end, Zhane had to leave for the Sullivan residence to deliver the news about what he had discovered and to share Hera’s insight about the possibility of finding another donor.

Before doing so, however, he made sure to discuss it thoroughly with Dr. Zigheart to avoid giving the Sullivans false hope and to ensure that even if they take care of the female doctor, they would no longer need to worry about anything, and they could do whatever they needed without hesitation.

Only after confirming with Dr. Zigheart that there were alternative options and several potential donors from the Avery Foundation’s database did Zhane head to the Sullivan residence to meet the five brothers. There, he discussed everything in detail and handed over all the evidence they had gathered, along with the list of possible bone marrow donors.

When the Sullivans saw that there were three compatible donors available, they felt both relieved and deeply grateful. The heavy weight pressing on their hearts finally lifted; they no longer had to pin all their hopes on just one person. Even if one donor turned out to be unavailable, they still had other chances.

But after learning about the despicable acts that doctor had committed, their relief quickly turned into fury. Now that they had other options and no reason to hold back, they felt a burning urge to make that woman pay for what she had done.

“Are all these pieces of evidence verified?” the eldest of the Sullivan brothers asked, his brows furrowed as he studied the documents Zhane had handed him.

“Yes,” Zhane replied evenly. “My team has double-checked everything, and we’ve also confirmed it through a reliable, respectable source,” He leaned back against the sofa, calm and composed, quietly observing the Sullivan brothers’ reactions. So far, they were responding exactly as he had expected.

“Good. Good!” the eldest brother snapped, his voice rising with barely contained fury. “To think that someone like her would dare conspire against my family, does she think I’m dead? Or that I’d just sit by and do nothing?” His words came out through gritted teeth, every syllable laced with venom.

“I suppose she never imagined her plan would fail,” the fifth Sullivan brother remarked thoughtfully. “She probably only considered one outcome, and that was her success.” As a lawyer, his mind tended to work differently, more analytically, dissecting how criminals thought and what drove their reasoning.

“What?! So that woman, Sophia, actually thought we were fools, that we wouldn’t see through her schemes?!” the second Sullivan brother exploded, his temper flaring as he shot up from his seat.

“Calm down,” the third brother said, though his voice carried an edge. “We can’t say for sure what she thought. What matters is that someone managed to see through her plot, and for that, we owe Dr. Everett and his team our gratitude.” He leaned forward, composed on the surface, though his clenched fists and white knuckles betrayed his fury.
