1004: Chapter 1004 Action Speaks Louder Than Words 1004: Chapter 1004 Action Speaks Louder Than Words Once Silvia lost control, Hera knew the public would take care of the rest, speculating, connecting dots, and turning the tide of public opinion on their own.

All Hera needed to do was guide the spark.

She had merely hoped her gamble would work…

but to her surprise, everything fell perfectly into place.

Seeing Silvia dig her own grave and bury herself in it, Hera’s smile grew even brighter, her eyes curving into delicate crescents.

She looked radiant, so dazzling that everyone watching could only see grace and composure in her expression.

Despite Silvia’s attempts to belittle her, Hera’s calm and genuine smile made her appear kind-hearted and magnanimous.

Because of this, the public quickly sided with her, believing that Hera wasn’t a shameless mistress at all, but rather a woman being unfairly attacked by someone abusing her status.

To them, Silvia looked like the one trying to steal another woman’s man through power and arrogance, while Hera stood her ground with quiet dignity, further strengthening her image in the eyes of the netizens.

Instead, it was Silvia’s image that took a heavy blow.

Since she had proudly declared herself the Avery heiress, the public’s anger quickly turned toward the Avery Consortium itself, criticizing the family for raising such an arrogant and hot-headed woman.

As a result, the Avery’s reputation suffered, and their stocks took a small but noticeable dip as netizens began to boycott their products and launch a hate campaign online.

When Hera later received the report, a pang of guilt twisted in her chest, but she didn’t regret her actions.

This was the only way her grandfather could finally see the truth: that the stand-in granddaughter he had placed his hopes on, expecting her to be grateful and to follow in her parents’ footsteps as a pillar of support for the Avery family, had instead become a tyrant blinded by jealousy and envy.

By exposing Silvia’s behavior, Hera knew the Old Master Avery would finally realize that Silvia had been coveting Leo all along, and once her true colors were laid bare, he would be utterly disillusioned and give up on her for good.

After all, even though Old Master Avery had told Hera that she could handle Silvia’s matter however she wished, Hera still believed that her grandfather had a soft spot for Silvia.

Though he never truly regarded Silvia as his real granddaughter, he still pitied her, for she, too, had lost her parents.

Because of that, he couldn’t help but feel a trace of compassion toward her, perhaps even seeing a reflection of Hera herself in Silvia.

That was precisely why Hera didn’t want to take any chances.

Human emotions were fickle, and the human heart was the most complex puzzle in the world, one she refused to gamble on.

It wasn’t that Hera was being guarded against her grandfather, far from it.

She simply wanted to close every possible door that Silvia might use to manipulate her way back into his good graces, whether by seeking his sympathy or trying to gain leniency through emotional ploys.

Hera was merely ensuring that Silvia would have no path left to exploit.

Besides, it wasn’t Hera who wanted to blow things out of proportion; it was Silvia who invited the crowd, hoping to humiliate her and turn the situation into a spectacle.

Silvia wanted Hera to be branded as a mistress and destroyed in front of the entire nation.

But was Hera magnanimous enough to let Silvia succeed?

Of course not.

Hera could be petty and vindictive when she needed to be, and she wasn’t the type to let someone walk away unscathed after being given a chance to back down.

Since Silvia insisted on making her suffer, and even had the audacity to covet her man, why should Hera show mercy?

To give her another chance to grow stronger and strike again later?

Hera wasn’t a masochist.

It was better to cut the problem off at the root before it had the chance to grow.

And in this way, even if Old Master Avery still held some fondness for Silvia, Hera knew that what he saw of her was only the polished façade, the sweet, charming side Silvia showed to win his affection.

But once he saw this scene for himself, Hera believed it would serve as the clearest explanation possible, far more convincing than any words she could say.

After all, even though Hera and Old Master Avery rarely spent time together, she still believed she held the dearest place in his heart, and she was his soft spot.

But she also knew how kind he could be, and that kindness could easily be taken advantage of.

That was precisely why Old Master Avery had given Hera the authority to deal with Silvia in her own way.

He understood that he might grow soft-hearted or feel pity for Silvia if he got involved, and he didn’t want to risk showing favoritism that could hurt Hera.

It was better to crush Silvia’s hopes early on, before she could think of using the Avery name to fight back, or worse, turn against the family out of resentment.

Greedy people rarely know their limits; they push blame onto others when things don’t go their way.

Hera didn’t want her grandfather to experience such betrayal, not when he was already old and vulnerable to emotional strain.

Fortunately, he was currently handling business abroad, which gave Hera some peace of mind.

“Miss Silvia, whether someone is a commoner or not has nothing to do with your accusation of me being a mistress.

Aside from your words, do you have any proof to support your claim?” “Otherwise, this could easily be considered slander.

After all, the entire nation has already seen Leo and me as a couple, while you, on the other hand, suddenly appeared out of nowhere and began claiming to be his fiancée.

“If that’s truly the case, why not ask him to break up with me instead of refusing to let the Avery family announce your engagement?

That way, we wouldn’t have to fight like cats over a man.” “Personally, I believe in self-respect and self-love.

If a man doesn’t love or respect me enough, I’d rather walk away than force myself on him.” Hera spoke with a calm smile, tilting her head slightly as she looked at Silvia.

Her expression was so serene and innocent that it was impossible to accuse her of being provocative.

Yet, her words carried subtle barbs, laced with grace and irony.

She made Silvia look desperate and self-degrading, while she herself appeared composed and genuine, someone simply concerned that Silvia didn’t know how to value herself.

Those who heard her couldn’t find a single fault in her words, and many even found themselves agreeing with her.

Silvia’s face darkened; she looked like she might tear Hera’s smug smile off.

She snapped, “Big words from you, Miss Hera.

You talk about self-respect and stepping away, then why don’t you step back and leave my fiancé alone?” “Anyone can say noble things, but what matters is action.” She jabbed the words like a knife toward the cameras, desperate for a breakthrough that would shame Hera on live view.

Hera only chuckled softly, as if Silvia’s outburst were nothing more than a tired joke.

“Indeed, actions speak louder than words,” Hera replied with a bright, almost angelic smile.

“I only said so much so you wouldn’t accuse me later of playing dirty.

Consider this a reminder, speaking nonsense always comes with consequences.” As she spoke, she absently toyed with her phone, her calmness unnerving.

The air grew heavy with silence until a notification suddenly lit up her screen.

Hera’s smile widened, her eyes glinting with quiet amusement as she continued, “And as for being Leo’s fiancée… shouldn’t you, of all people, know whether you truly are, or if you’re simply trying to take someone else’s place?” Her words, laced with subtle mockery, drew everyone’s attention.

Silvia’s breath hitched, her heart plummeting to her stomach as her eyes widened in shock.

For a brief moment, she forgot to breathe.

‘Does this woman know something?’ Silvia thought, glaring at Hera.

Her threatening look was paper-thin; beneath it, she trembled with nerves.

Hera, however, remained completely unfazed.

She had dropped that pointed hint on purpose: a calculated reminder of Silvia’s precarious position.

Hera knew she couldn’t hide her true identity forever, so she chose to sow doubt now.

If Silvia began to suspect Hera knew her secret, how Hera had found out, what she knew, Silvia would start second-guessing every move.

Paranoia would set in: she’d watch her step, stumble over her words, and waste time trying to cover tracks.

While Silvia scrambled, Hera would quietly fortify her reputation and secure her claim as the heiress of the Avery and show the shareholders what she is capable of.

Even gossip that Silvia might be a stand-in would stir the Avery family’s enemies and fan gossip, chaos that, paradoxically, would allow Hera to hide in plain sight.
