Chapter 210: Murderer
Nolan chuckled, the sound soft and genuine. “And I’m glad you did.”

Evelyn’s expression softened. “I’m happy now, Master. I have a loving husband…” She hesitated, her voice catching, “and my son.”

“Son?” Nolan’s brows shot up.

“Yes. A little boy with his father’s temper and his mother’s stubbornness.”

Nolan’s expression quickly turned to joy.

“Wow, I’m so glad you have a boy…” He smiled, his eyes shining with excitement. “Poor Mr. Knight, the little one is going to drive him crazy.”

Evelyn laughed again, shaking her head. “He already does. Sometimes I think Axel’s more terrified of our child than of his business rivals.”

“As expected…” Nolan chuckled warmly.

They continued talking about the mountain where Nolan’s family lives.

Evelyn’s heart warmed as she remembered her summers spent there.

Their laughter filled the air, lightening the tension that had suffocated Evelyn minutes ago.

But behind that laughter, Evelyn’s heart tightened. She couldn’t dismiss the image of her father lying on the floor, the sound of his cries echoing in her ears.

She didn’t know what Axel was doing now, but she trusted him. She always had.

Still, part of her prayed that Axel’s anger would not consume him, fearing her husband might become a murderer.

Silently, Evelyn took a deep breath and tried to calm the remaining tension pulsing through her veins.

Then,

She turned her gaze toward Stella and Alicia, who were waiting inside their car not far from Axel’s car.

Their faces were pale, still recovering from the chaos that had unfolded inside the house.

Evelyn knew they were worried about her.

When she was about to excuse herself to Nolan and walk over to Stella and Alicia, she suddenly heard footsteps approaching from behind.

Her heart skipped.

‘Axel?’

She turned, and there he was.

Her husband walked toward her with his usual calm stride.

His expression was warm, and that familiar half-smile curved on his lips, the kind of smile that could melt away her fears without a single word.

Behind him, Lisa followed closely, still alert but visibly more relaxed than before.

However, Evelyn noticed that Liam wasn’t with them.

“Eve,” Axel said as he reached her, taking her hand gently in his. His thumb brushed over her knuckles to calm her. “I’m sorry for making you wait.”

“It’s fine. I’m just glad it’s over.”

He nodded, his eyes searching hers. “Everything’s settled inside. Liam will take your father to the hospital.”

She didn’t ask anything else. As long as William Walters was alive, that was enough. She didn’t want Axel to get into any trouble because of her father’s madness.

“I see,” she said quietly. “That’s good.”

Axel squeezed her hand, his gaze softening.

“Are you hurt anywhere?” he asked, trying to check her face, her hands, and her feet.

Evelyn smiled.

“Just a little sore, but I’ll survive. Well, Mr. Knight, your wife’s tougher than you thought.” She playfully answers.

“I never doubted that. I saw six grown men lying unconscious across a room because of you. Remind me never to argue with you when you’re holding that baton.”

She laughed softly, “Noted, Mr. Knight.”

He smiled, satisfied that she could still tease him after all that had happened.

“Alright, let’s leave this place,” he said.

When Axel tried to lead her toward the car, though, she stopped and gently tugged at his sleeve.

“Wait.”

Axel frowned slightly, confused, but didn’t resist. Evelyn turned, gesturing for him to follow her. “There’s someone I want you to meet.”

Not far, Nolan Palmer stood beneath the tree. His old eyes watched as Axel and Evelyn approached.

Evelyn’s heart warmed as she looked at her Master, the man who had taught her everything she knew about discipline, defense, and strength.

“Master,” Evelyn called softly as they stopped in front of him. “I want you to meet my husband, Axel Knight.”

Nolan’s eyebrows went up slightly, then a slow smile formed on his lips. “So, this is Evelyn’s most successful and famous husband I’ve ever heard of.”

Axel chuckled, extending his hand. “And you must be the man who made my wife terrifyingly good at breaking bones.”

Nolan laughed heartily and clasped Axel’s hand firmly.

“Guilty as charged. I assume she used those lessons well?”

“Let’s just say six of her father’s bodyguards might need a few months of therapy,” Axel replied dryly.

Evelyn rolled her eyes. “You make it sound like I went too far.”

Axel smirked. “You did, and it was beautiful.” He gently said while patting her back lovingly.

Nolan couldn’t help but chuckle, watching the way they looked at each other. “You two remind me of trouble waiting to happen.”

Axel turned his gaze back to Nolan.

“Sir, I actually overheard you speaking earlier… before the chaos. You refused to take William Walters’ side, and you respected Evelyn’s choice. For that, I’m grateful.”

The older man nodded slowly, his tone modest. “I only did what was right.”

“Still,” Axel said, “I owe you my thanks. You helped her become who she is today. I respect that deeply.”

Evelyn watched quietly as her husband, the man known for his ruthless temper, stood there speaking with genuine warmth to her teacher. It made her heart swell with happiness.

Then Axel’s lips curved again, “Actually, Master Nolan, there’s something I want to ask you.”

“Oh?” Nolan raised a brow, curious.

“Would you consider becoming Oliver’s martial arts teacher?”

The old man blinked, taken aback. “Oliver?”

Evelyn laughed softly, “Master, he means our son, his name is Oliver.”

Nolan looked between the two of them, momentarily lost for words.

Then a smile slowly appears across his aging face. “You want me to teach your son?”

Axel nods, “Exactly. Who else could survive training him?”

Nolan chuckled heartily, shaking his head in disbelief. “That boy’s going to be a menace with parents like you two.”

“We’ll consider that a compliment,” Evelyn teased.

“Alright then, I’ll think about it. Call me in a few days, Eve. I’ll let you know my answer.”

Evelyn’s smile was bright, her eyes warm with gratitude. “Thank you, Master. I’d be so happy if you said yes.”

Nolan chuckles softly, feeling his heart warm as he hears Axel and Evelyn kindly ask him to teach their son.

Although he no longer wished to have a young apprentice, he couldn’t refuse because he truly adored Evelyn as if she were his own kin.

In fact, he is so eager to meet and guide Evelyn’s son onto the path of a martial arts and close-quarter combat expert like Evelyn.
