Chapter 200: What If He Torture Stella and Alicia?
The voice that came through wasn’t Stella’s. It was deep, stern, and painfully familiar.

“Eve, come home now.”

Her heart tightened. That voice… she hadn’t heard it since she blocked his number: her father, William Walters.

Her knuckles turned white around the phone.

“William Walters!? You—”

“We need to talk, or your sister will be the one who receives my wrath!” William Walters said sharply.

For a moment, she couldn’t speak. Her heart thundered in her chest as anger and shock collided like a storm.

How dare he use Stella’s phone?

“Why did you use Stella’s phone to call me?”

There was silence on the other end, only the faint sound of his breathing.

“You’ve sunk so low, Mr. Walters!” she expresses her annoyance.

“I won’t say this twice! Come here now… your sister might get hurt otherwise!”

Before Evelyn could say another word, he hung up the call.

Evelyn’s hands were shaking slightly, too angry to hear William Walters threaten her.

Ryan glanced at her in the mirror, sensing her tension. “Everything alright, ma’am?”

She didn’t answer Ryan’s question right away. Her eyes stared blankly out the window, but her mind raced with dark possibilities she didn’t want to believe.

What if her father had done something reckless again?

What if he tortured Stella and Alicia just to lure her in?

It’s not the first time William Walters has pulled some sneaky moves to get what he wants.

The thought… made Evelyn’s stomach twist.

Her hands curled into tight fists on her lap, nails digging into her skin.

Rage simmered beneath her calm expression, threatening to spill over.

Her father, once a man she had admired and looked up to, had become someone she barely recognized.

A man poisoned by his own pride and by Lana’s manipulative whispers.

Evelyn’s jaw tightened. The more she thought about William Walters’ evilness, the clearer it became that she couldn’t ignore his call, no matter how much she wanted to.

This wasn’t about her anymore. It was about protecting the people she cared about.

She could almost hear Axel’s voice in her head, telling her to be careful, to think before acting.

But when it came to her father, reason often faded away and drowned under years of pain, his relentless guilt-tripping, and betrayal.

Evelyn took a slow, deep breath, forcing her heartbeat to steady. She couldn’t lose control now.

Ryan’s cautious voice broke the tense silence again.

“Mrs. Knight, where are we going now? Mogul Shopping Center?”

Evelyn’s gaze hardened, and she finally turned toward him.

“No.” Evelyn’s tone was sharp, but steady. “Turn the car around.”

Ryan blinked in surprise, glancing briefly at her through the rearview mirror. “Ma’am?”

“We’re going to the Walters estate.” Her words came out cold, like ice slicing through the air.

Even Lisa, sitting quietly next to Ryan, slightly turned her head, sensing the sudden shift in mood.

“Understood,” Ryan replied immediately, his professionalism returning as he switched lanes and made a smooth U-turn.

Evelyn leaned back against the seat, her reflection faintly visible in the tinted window.

Her expression was unreadable, but her eyes flashed with restrained anger.

If her father believed he could still control her with threats, he was deeply mistaken.

She wasn’t the naive daughter who once obeyed him out of fear or guilt. She was Evelyn Knight now… stronger, brighter, and no longer standing alone.

Still, her heart ached with worry for Stella and Alicia.

As the car sped toward the Walters estate, Evelyn silently vowed that if her father had truly crossed the line this time, she would make sure he regretted it.

…

The car slowed as it neared the towering gates of the Walters estate.

Evelyn’s chest tightened instantly, her pulse quickening as memories flooded back…

The last time she passed through those gates, it hadn’t been as a daughter leaving home, but as someone cast out. She had walked away with her dignity shattered and her father’s harsh words echoing behind her.

Now, years later, she was back.

The sight of the familiar stone walls and perfectly trimmed hedges stirred something dark inside her.

It wasn’t nostalgia.

It was anger.

The kind that burned hotter the longer she stared at the house that had once been her home.

She pressed a hand over her chest, trying to steady her breath.

‘He never changes,’ she whispered to herself. ‘Not even after all this time.’

Her father had gone too far this time. Imprisoning Stella and Alicia just to force her to obey him?

That was no longer just a father’s action; it was devil’s work, and it disgusted her.

Before the gate opened, Ryan glanced at her through the mirror, his tone careful.

“Ma’am, are you sure it’s safe to go inside? Do you want me to call for help first?”

Evelyn calmly replied, “Yes. And you don’t need to call anyone; I can handle him.”

Her calm voice didn’t match the turmoil inside her.

Ryan frowned. “But you shouldn’t enter the house alone, Ma’am. Let Lisa go with you.”

Lisa turned slightly in her seat, her expression serious. “Yes, Ma’am. What if there’s danger inside?”

Evelyn hesitated, her fingers tapping restlessly against her thigh.

The thought of her father having bodyguards stationed around, ready to intimidate her, wasn’t far-fetched. Knowing William Walters, it was entirely possible.

She exhaled slowly, then turned toward Lisa.

“Alright. You can come. But you must follow my lead. Don’t speak, don’t interfere, and don’t move unless I tell you to. Understand?”

“Yes, Ma’am. I’ll follow your orders.”

The heavy gates creaked open, revealing the long driveway lined with old oak trees. The air seemed to thicken as they entered, as if the house itself could sense the tension.

The car rolled to a stop in front of the grand entrance.

Evelyn’s heart thudded painfully in her chest as she stared at the familiar double doors.

They looked the same as before, yet everything about them felt different.

Ryan parked and turned to her once more. His voice was quiet but filled with concern. “Please, be careful, Mrs. Knight.”

Evelyn offered a small smile, though it didn’t reach her eyes. “Don’t worry. Wait here. We won’t be long.”
