Chapter 478: The Devil’s Deal
Leina paused for a moment, staring into Nolan’s purple eyes.

They looked calm, like the ocean at noon. However, anyone sensitive enough could sense that behind that calm lay something far more terrifying.

As someone highly sensitive, Leina could clearly feel the danger.

She wanted to refuse, but the words stuck in her throat.

After a long moment of consideration, she nodded weakly and replied, “Okay, I… agree…”

Jisha, sitting beside her, was shocked. Leina should have known how detrimental those terms were to the Kingdom of Kaldarion.

Still, she understood that protesting was pointless. Her duty was only to escort Leina to negotiate with Nolan—nothing more.

Sharon and Cassiopeia exchanged meaningful glances. At last, what they wanted could become reality.

Although they had to overcome many obstacles and endure long patience, the outcome was extremely satisfying and beneficial for them.

Nolan was not surprised by the acceptance. On the contrary, he had expected it.

After all, from the very beginning, Glarvic and Leina had already been caught in his plan.

With their situation pushed to the brink, there was no choice but to accept the offer.

“I don’t need verbal promises. Let’s draw up the contract,” Nolan said indifferently.

He raised his left hand, and Cassiopeia immediately stepped forward, holding a contract that was somehow already prepared.

Nolan took it and placed it on the table. He then took out a pen and handed it to Leina.

“Let’s start signing,” he ordered.

Leina bit her lower lip, took the contract, and began to read it.

The contents were exactly as Nolan had just proposed. It was clear that he had planned everything perfectly.

‘What a terrible person,’ she muttered in horror.

Despite his annoying attitude, Leina had to admit that Nolan was clever and intelligent.

It felt as though every step he took led to a predetermined outcome, and both she and Glarvic were nothing more than pawns in his game.

It would be a lie to say she wasn’t angry, but everything had already been decided, and there was no way for her and Glarvic to undo their actions.

Taking a deep breath, she signed the contract with a heavy heart.

When she finished, she handed it to him and said, “I’ve done it. Now you have to keep your promise.”

Nolan took the contract. Without even looking at it, he handed it to Cassiopeia.

“Don’t rush. Did I ever say that was the only condition?” he asked, looking at her playfully.

“You…” Leina growled in anger. She hadn’t expected Nolan to be that cunning.

But she knew that resisting was useless and could only agree reluctantly.

“Go ahead.”

Nolan crossed his legs and said, “I want the Netherium mine processing to begin after the dragon issue and the attacks on the two border kingdoms are resolved. For this matter, everything will be handled by the Great Velmora Empire. The profits will be split with 95% for us and only 5% for you. However, we will pay you a royalty of 6% of the income. How about it?”

Hearing that, Leina’s breath caught in her throat. Her eyes widened, as though she wanted to devour Nolan alive on the spot.

“Your Highness, isn’t your offer… too greedy?” She asked through gritted teeth.

“Too greedy?” Nolan blinked and tilted his head to the side. “Why do you think that?”

Leina grew even angrier at his feigned ignorance. However, she couldn’t suppress him by force.

She was certain that the giant hand was not an illusion but real.

And the culprit? It had to be Nolan.

Unfortunately, she didn’t know how to prove it.

“Taking 95% is the same as draining the Kaldarion Kingdom dry,” Leina said, holding back her anger. “How could I possibly allow that? Please change the terms, Your Highness.”

Jisha nodded in agreement. The terms Nolan proposed were clearly inhumane.

Although her ties to the Kingdom of Kaldarion were not very strong, this land was still the birthplace of her junior sister.

Compared to Nolan, Jisha was clearly on her junior’s side.

Nolan chuckled softly and took a sip of his tea. He did not answer immediately, as if savoring the tea was more important than responding.

Then, with an indifferent look, he sneered, “Prime Minister Leina, I am sure you are a smart person. I had high expectations of you. But it turns out I was wrong—you are truly stupid.”

The blatant insult tightened Leina’s chest. Before she could utter a single word, Nolan continued with even sharper words.

“Your position is not that of a negotiator but of someone begging for help. So act like someone begging for help.”

His eyes were so cold that Leina’s heart began to race.

Even Jisha was frightened. She had never seen Nolan wear such an expression—no, she had seen it before.

It was the same look he wore when he carefully plotted to trap one of the maids in the Caltheron family mansion.

His face, his smile, and his demeanor were identical—utterly terrifying, like a merciless devil.

Jisha glanced at Leina and exhaled deeply.

‘It’s really unfortunate for Prime Minister Leina and the Kingdom of Kaldarion to be involved with this demon. Ouch… they’re going to bleed soon,’ she whispered with pity.

However, there was nothing she could do to help them.

After all, from the very beginning, it was Glarvic and Leina’s fault that the devil before her had become furious.

Not only Jisha, but even Sharon, Cassiopeia, and Draco were shocked by the cruelty of Nolan’s words.

‘Tsk! This prince is really very interesting,’ Draco muttered in amazement.

Of course, he didn’t feel sorry for Leina. To him, Leina and Glarvic were indeed in the wrong and insolent for expelling him and the others from the palace.

On the contrary, he deeply admired Nolan’s cold attitude, which perfectly suited his taste.

Cassiopeia and Sharon shared Draco’s opinion. Sharon, in particular, thought Nolan looked very handsome.

She hadn’t expected her brother to be so direct and cruel, and she found it fascinating to watch.

“You only have two choices—take it or leave it. That’s it,” Nolan continued coldly. “Think carefully, because I am not a saint who will give you more than one chance.”

Leina fell silent and lowered her gaze. She felt torn between agreeing and refusing.

If she agreed, Glarvic would consider her a traitor.

After all, the Netherium mine was extremely important and valuable. Its profits would certainly advance the economy of the Kingdom of Kaldarion many times over.

On the other hand, if she refused, the Kingdom of Kaldarion would be destroyed and become nothing more than a memory in history.

And as the key figure, Leina’s name would be remembered as the main cause of the kingdom’s destruction.

It could be said that, whether she agreed or not, her status as a traitor to the Kingdom of Kaldarion would cling to her forever.

Realizing her fate, the gloom on her face vanished, replaced by a smile that soon turned into laughter.

“Hahaha… hahaha!”

Her laughter was shrill, carrying emotions of anger, sadness, and deep disappointment.

Everyone felt their hair stand on end—even Cassiopeia and Draco were affected.

Leina covered half of her face with her palm as she stared at Nolan with empty eyes.

“Nolan Lorian, congratulations. You win. I… agree!”
