Chapter 474: Leina’s Visit
Nolan carefully laid Sharon on the bed. He rubbed her head and felt her feverish warmth.
“She has a fever,” he muttered with a small chuckle.
Fortunately, it was only a slight fever. In a few hours, she would be fine.
He pulled the blanket over his sister’s body. After that, he stepped out of the room and was about to return to his own when a voice called out behind him.
“Your Highness, you’re back.”
Nolan turned and saw Cassiopeia standing there. He smiled and asked, “Did anything happen while I was gone?”
Cassiopeia shook her head and handed him a cup of hot coffee.
“Nothing happened. Everything went safely and smoothly,” Cassiopeia replied. “However, earlier, I sensed a faint disturbance in the distance. It seems there was a battle about ten to twenty kilometers away.”
Nolan took the cup, sipped it, and asked, “Do you know who was fighting?”
Cassiopeia shook her head again. “No, I don’t. But it must have been a clash between powerful figures. The pressure and impact could be felt all the way here.”
Her expression grew serious.
To cause such vibrations from that distance, the strength of those involved had to be equal to hers and Draco’s—or even greater.
That made her worry they might interfere with the plans she and Nolan had carefully laid out.
Noticing her unease, Nolan simply smiled.
“Alright, don’t worry about it. By the way, there’s something I want to talk to you about.”
Cassiopeia was taken aback and tilted her head in curiosity.
“What is it?”
“Not here. Come with me to my room.”
After saying that, Nolan walked toward his room. Cassiopeia didn’t ask any questions and followed him.
Nolan had rented the entire top floor of the inn. There was no one else there except him, Cassiopeia, Draco, and Sharon.
He did this to ensure the safety of the plan they had carefully laid out.
It was possible that one of the other guests in the inn was a soldier or someone from the royal palace, which would become a hindrance to their plan.
Once inside the room, Nolan sat on the bed, while Cassiopeia took a seat on the study chair.
“Soon, the royal palace will come to this inn. When that happens, you know what you have to do, right?”
Nolan looked at her calmly, his expression indifferent.
Cassiopeia was startled. “The royal palace will come? Why are you so sure? Isn’t that too soon?”
It wasn’t that she didn’t trust Nolan, but according to her estimates, there were still two or three days before the royal palace would come to seek their help.
“There’s a specific reason, and I can’t tell you,” Nolan replied casually. “Anyway, just do what we planned. Do you understand?”
Cassiopeia’s confusion was understandable, and Nolan showed no anger at all.
However, what Cassiopeia didn’t realize was that Sylvia had moved faster than they had expected.
Thankfully, Nolan had chosen to check on the dragon earlier. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have been able to save Sylvia and accelerate his plan at the same time.
Cassiopeia swallowed her surprise and nodded faintly.
“All right, I understand.”
Nolan nodded in satisfaction. After that, he continued the discussion with her, focusing on the possible worst-case scenarios that might arise.
The more Cassiopeia listened to Nolan’s ideas and way of thinking, the more amazed she became.
When they were finished, Cassiopeia stood up and left Nolan’s room.
However, she did not leave immediately. She stood silently in front of the door.
“Prince Nolan is really frightening,” she muttered softly. “His ideas and way of thinking are far beyond common sense. So what was his purpose in hiding his strength from the beginning? Was he afraid His Majesty would discover it?”
Over the past few days, she had thought about the question many times but never found a satisfactory answer.
Now, after reaching that conclusion, she felt it was the most reasonable explanation.
Shaking her head, she walked back to her room.
…
“Is this the place?”
Ten meters from the inn where Nolan was staying, Leina stared at the building with a cold gaze.
Twelve soldiers stood behind her, and one of them stepped forward.
“That’s right, Prime Minister. According to the information we received, Prince Nolan, Princess Sharon, and the two Celestial mages accompanying them have been staying here for the past few days.”
Leina clenched her teeth, then suppressed her anger and exhaled deeply.
“Alright, I understand. Let’s go see them.”
She pulled down her hood and walked toward the inn with the soldiers.
Coincidentally, Draco was training in the inn’s courtyard. When Leina saw him, the last traces of suspicion and doubt in her heart vanished instantly.
With a composed expression, she approached Draco and greeted him. “Good afternoon, Mage Draco.”
Draco, who was in the middle of doing push-ups, was taken aback. He looked up and realized it was Leina.
“Leina?” His brows furrowed slightly as he slowly stood up. “What brings you here?”
He wasn’t wearing a shirt while training, revealing his well-built, powerful physique.
Moreover, Draco stood over two meters tall. Compared to him, Leina looked small and fragile.
The soldiers bristled at his attitude, but Leina quickly raised her right hand to stop them from doing anything reckless.
“I came to see Prince Nolan. Can you take me to him?” Leina asked in a low, heavy voice.
If not for the circumstances, she would never have come to this place.
Unfortunately, the kingdom was under pressure from all sides. The existence of the white dragon that had turned into a catastrophe-level monster, along with successive attacks from enemy kingdoms, had thrown the realm into chaos.
On top of that, protests had erupted in many cities, demanding that the king abdicate the throne.
If this continued, the Kingdom of Kaldarion might be completely destroyed.
Its centuries-old history would become nothing more than a fairy tale in the future. She clearly couldn’t allow that to happen.
“Want to meet Prince Nolan?” Draco chuckled softly. “Don’t get your hopes up, Leina. You were the one who drove us away back then, and now you want us back? What a joke.”
The mockery hit her hard, making her chest tighten.
The soldiers could no longer endure it. Just as they were about to draw their weapons, Draco cast a cold glance at them.
In an instant, a powerful force struck them, knocking them to the ground.
“Draco, what do you mean?” Leina snapped angrily.
A surge of power erupted from her body, but before Draco, it felt utterly meaningless.
Although they were both Celestial Mages, in truth, Leina was far weaker than him.
“They looked at me with disrespect,” Draco said coldly. “Do you think I would just stand by and do nothing?”
He withdrew the pressure he had released, and the soldiers finally caught their breath.
Even so, the fear on their faces was hard to conceal.
Leina let out a soft breath. “Thank you.”
Draco did not respond. He turned away and started to leave.
“Wait!” Leina called out urgently. “Is it impossible for us to meet Prince Nolan?”
Without turning back, Draco replied indifferently, “No.”
