Chapter 470: Intervening
“Woaaa!”

Jisha and Olivia were thrown into a spatial passage before finally being spat out of the air and crashing hard onto the ground.

Both of them rubbed their sore bottoms and looked around in confusion.

“Where are we?” Olivia asked hesitantly.

All she could see was a snow-covered forest. A river lay about twenty meters away, but it was completely frozen.

Jisha furrowed her brow, just as confused as Olivia.

“It seems our master sent us to a random place,” Jisha said, pursing her lips.

Olivia suddenly remembered Sylvia. She quickly stood up and shook Jisha’s shoulders violently.

“Senior Sister, we have to save Master! Otherwise, she’ll be in danger!”

Her voice trembled with panic and fear. Sylvia was her master, and there was no way she could allow anything to happen to her.

Although they hadn’t known each other for long, Olivia already regarded her as the closest person to her, aside from her father.

Jisha bit her lower lip, tears welling up in her eyes.

“You want to save her? But how? Even Master told us to leave,” she said hoarsely.

It would be a lie to say she wasn’t worried about her master’s safety. But both she and Olivia were nothing more than ants in the eyes of a dragon.

If they went back, they would only become a burden.

Olivia was at a loss for words. Tears pooled in her dark eyes.

“Master…” she sobbed, covering her face with both palms.

Seeing this, Jisha felt a deep sense of heaviness in her chest. Still, there was nothing she could do except try to calm Olivia down.

“Don’t worry. Let’s just trust everything to Master. I’m sure she’ll be fine. After all, she’s very strong.”

Even as she said that, she wasn’t confident in her own words.

The white dragon monster had reached the catastrophe level. No matter how strong her master was, defeating it would be impossible unless she broke through to the highest level that existed only in legend.

But was that really possible?

Frankly, Jisha wasn’t sure at all. Her master had tried many times to reach that legendary realm.

Unfortunately, she had never succeeded until now.

Olivia said nothing and only gave a reluctant nod.

She lowered her head and whispered, ‘Gods, please hear my prayer. Save my master… I beg you…’

…

Boom!

Sylvia’s body slammed into the ground with tremendous force.

At the same time, the white dragon pinned her down, pressing its right claw against her and leaving her unable to move.

“Hahaha! You bastard… It’s over. You’ve lost!” The dragon laughed triumphantly.

The woman before her was far stronger than expected. Not only had she refused to give up, but her attacks had even managed to injure the dragon.

Though the wounds were not fatal, they were still extremely irritating.

“Argh!” Sylvia groaned as the dragon’s claw pressed down harder.

Her body felt as if it were being crushed, her internal organs shifting under the overwhelming pressure.

Even so, she did not give up. Instead, she grinned coldly.

“Do you really think I’ve lost?”

The dragon froze in surprise. Before she could react, a blinding light appeared in the sky.

Whoosh—scrk!

A giant sword descended at terrifying speed, piercing straight through the dragon’s head and driving all the way down.

The dragon’s eyes widened. In the next instant, her body split in two.

Sylvia quickly struggled to her feet and retreated dozens of steps, breathing heavily.

She opened her right palm, and a potion appeared in her hand.

She gulped it down in one go, and a bright blue light spread across her body.

Her wounds began to heal, though not the deep internal damage caused by forcibly drawing out her mana.

“If this continues, I’ll really die,” she whispered weakly. “Is there truly no other choice?”

She had already consumed all one hundred bottles of mana potions she had brought with her.

Normally, the human body could not endure more than twenty bottles within ten days.

Even as a Celestial Mage, that limitation still applied.

As a result, severe side effects had begun to surface. Her mana flow grew chaotic, spiraling out of control.

Her head spun violently, as if it might explode at any moment.

Suddenly, the dragon’s body—previously split apart—rejoined.

Her face twisted with uncontrollable rage as she let out a deafening roar.

“Damn human! I’ll kill you!”

She swung her claw down at Sylvia.

Sylvia instantly formed a barrier around herself, but it shattered into fragments the moment it was struck, and the dragon’s attack landed directly on her body.

“Pfft!”

She spat out a mouthful of blood as her body was hurled backward like a bullet, flying more than two hundred meters.

Boom!

She crashed heavily into the ground, gasping for breath.

The veil that once covered her face had long since fallen away, revealing a beautiful face like that of a goddess of life descended upon the world.

Unfortunately, that perfect beauty was marred by her disheveled state.

Crimson blood flowed from the corners of her mouth, her nostrils, and even her ears.

“Am I… going to die soon…?”

Her vision blurred until darkness finally swallowed her whole.

The last thing she saw before losing consciousness was the dragon’s figure standing right before her.

“How boring. Now, let’s say goodbye.”

The dragon raised her massive foot, about to stomp her to death, but suddenly—

Whoosh!

A black arrow shot forth in the blink of an eye, piercing straight through her stomach.

The dragon’s eyes widened in horror. Before she could react, the arrow erupted into black flames, engulfing her body.

Roar!

A thunderous roar burst from her maw. The searing pain threw her off balance, and she crashed backward with a heavy thud.

“It hurts! It hurts! It’s burning!”

She thrashed wildly, writhing like a leech sprinkled with salt.

At that moment, a man appeared beside Sylvia’s unconscious body.

Who else could it be but Nolan?

Seeing the beautiful figure lying there, helpless and unconscious, Nolan could only sigh softly and shake his head.

“She really is a stupid woman.”

In his view, Sylvia should have retreated and sought Glarvic’s help.

Even if Glarvic wouldn’t have been much help, he at least had a way to hold the white dragon at bay.

Yet here was Sylvia, recklessly trying to defeat it—going so far as to sacrifice herself.

Other than “stupid,” what word could possibly describe her?

Even so, Nolan had to admit that this woman was extraordinary.

She took responsibility for her actions and never ran away like a coward.

Nolan placed a hand on her forehead. A purplish-black light spread through Sylvia’s body.

At the same time, color slowly returned to her pale face.

Not stopping there, Nolan pinched her cheek and toyed with it for a moment before nodding in satisfaction.

“It’s rare to find an opportunity like this… hehehe…”

Just then, an angry voice rang out behind him.

“Who are you? Why are you helping her?! Do you want to die?”
