Chapter 465: An Egg
“Tsk! The cave is really dark. If I didn’t use my Eyes of Chaos, I would’ve crashed into the rough stone walls on both sides.” Nolan chuckled softly.

The cave was indeed enormous and completely unlit.

That was only natural, considering there was no sunlight above.

Moreover, it was still snowing outside, sealing the cave’s openings.

“This cave is huge—what about the dragon? Could it be bigger than Arnold? But that doesn’t seem likely. Arnold, in dragon form, can reach hundreds of meters, while this cave is less than thirty meters,” he muttered, rubbing his chin.

He continued walking deeper into the cave. It wasn’t straight—about twenty meters ahead, the path split, turning both right and left.

His eyes caught the dragon’s tracks leading to the right, and he followed them.

A few minutes later, a faint blue light appeared in the distance, and he immediately quickened his pace.

The closer he got, the clearer it became—it was a vast chamber.

The chamber was forty meters high and a hundred meters wide.

Even the imperial palace hall was nothing compared to the space before him.

Blue crystals were embedded in every rock wall, including the ceiling, their glow illuminating the chamber, though faintly and unevenly.

At the center lay a thirty-meter-long white dragon, fast asleep.

Its appearance resembled that of a typical dragon, yet its presence felt far more terrifying and oppressive.

Its scales were pure white, with several parts jutting out sharply like thorns.

The dragon slept soundly, emitting a sharp snore that made anyone who heard it feel as if their soul were being pierced by hundreds of swords.

‘Is that the dragon? Hmm… its appearance is far from what I imagined. But I have to admit—it’s very powerful. Its power is equivalent to two or three Celestial Mages,’ Nolan whispered in awe.

Even a single Celestial Mage was already terrifyingly strong, let alone two or three.

One could easily imagine how fearsome the dragon before him was.

Still, in battle, raw strength was not the only factor that determined victory.

Intelligence, strategy, and timing also played crucial roles.

If Cassiopeia and Draco worked together, they would still have a chance to defeat the dragon decisively.

Nolan’s gaze shifted to the blue crystals scattered throughout the area, and he realized they were not ordinary crystals but magic crystals.

If used by his sister, they would surely increase her mana capacity.

Nolan clenched his hand, and hundreds of magic crystals were mysteriously drawn in before vanishing completely.

The area grew much darker than before, causing the dragon’s snoring rhythm to change.

Its massive body stirred, as if it were about to wake up.

However, it merely adjusted its sleeping position, making Nolan unable to hold back a quiet laugh.

“If the dragon is here, then what’s in the left passage?”

Earlier, he had taken the right passage, which led directly to the dragon.

It was impossible for the left passage to be empty, right?

With a tingling sense of curiosity, he turned and walked out of the chamber toward the opposite side.

He intended to uncover the entire structure of the cave today, ensuring nothing would escape his attention later.

Whoosh!

Sylvia, Jisha, and Olivia appeared about twenty meters away from the cave where the dragon resided.

Jisha looked around in confusion and scratched her head.

“Master, are you sure this is the place? Why are there only trees here?”

She had imagined the dragon’s cave to be as massive as a mountain.

Instead, it looked no different from an ordinary forest, making her wonder if her master had teleported them to the wrong location.

Olivia was just as puzzled, but she didn’t dare speak, afraid of offending Sylvia.

Sylvia sighed softly and glanced at her disciple with a hint of annoyance.

“Don’t you feel something strange around us?”

“Strange?” Jisha was surprised and extended her senses to examine the surroundings.

In the next instant, she felt an extraordinarily powerful fluctuation of magic ahead.

“You mean the scene in front of us is just an illusion?”

Sylvia nodded in satisfaction and explained, “The dragon deliberately set up an illusion to protect its nest from enemies. With winter arriving, it has likely entered hibernation, but it didn’t forget to leave a powerful barrier behind the illusion.”

After saying that, she raised her right hand.

Suddenly, black clouds gathered in the sky.

Boom!

Black lightning burst forth and struck the area before them with tremendous force.

Crack!

A sharp cracking sound rang out, followed by a deafening explosion as the illusion shattered into pieces.

What had once seemed a simple forest, dotted with towering rocks, had become a vast cave.

It rose high and stretched wide, shrouded in darkness, as if anyone who looked inside might be swallowed whole.

Jisha swallowed hard and stepped back in fear.

“M-Master, is this the monster’s lair? Isn’t it… too dark?”

Not only she, but also Olivia was equally terrified.

As the possessor of the Arcanum Eyes, Olivia could see what others could not.

Inside the cave, she glimpsed a horrifying sight—an incredibly powerful white aura.

The aura slowly rose, coalescing into a gigantic dragon that let out a deafening roar.

Olivia jerked back and covered her eyes with both hands.

Sylvia, startled, quickly patted her head.

“It’s okay, don’t be afraid. I’m here. Don’t look over there,” she said softly.

Olivia’s fear gradually subsided, though not completely.

Once she had calmed down, Sylvia turned her gaze back to the cave and instructed, “Move fifty meters away and observe from a distance. No matter what happens, do not get close. Understood?”

She glanced seriously at Jisha and Olivia.

Neither dared argue. They nodded slightly and moved away from Sylvia as quickly as possible.

Sylvia took a deep breath and muttered coldly, “Let’s get this over with as quickly as possible.”

“The passage is longer than before. Could the area inside be hiding something?”

Nolan pondered the thought, and it made sense. Dragons were classified as monsters, yet they were extremely intelligent.

They could think like humans, so it was impossible for a dragon to create such a long passage if there wasn’t something special inside.

After walking for several minutes, Nolan noticed a faint light in the distance.

He quickened his pace, and moments later, he saw what lay within.

His body froze as he murmured in astonishment, “An… egg?”
