415: Welcoming the Guests 415: Welcoming the Guests Night finally fell.

Horse-drawn carriages from various regions passed through the palace gates in neat, orderly lines.

One of the carriages belonged to the Caltheron family.

Inside, Orlan, Syra, and Alicia sat quietly, waiting in the long procession.

“Father, can I play with Princess Eliza and Masha later?” Alicia asked eagerly.

Orlan smiled and ruffled her hair.

“Of course, dear.

Go ahead-and don’t forget to give my regards to Princess Eliza.” “Yay!” Alicia cheered.

“I won’t forget, Father!” Watching their interaction, Syra couldn’t help but smile.

“By the way, dear,” she said, glancing out the window, “I see many carriages from outside our empire.

How many foreign guests do you think have come?” Orlan rubbed his chin thoughtfully as he looked out.

“I’m not entirely sure, but if I recall correctly, the Holy Empire of Valtanir, the Eastern Empire of Izanagi, and several other powers from distant continents are here.” “The Eastern Empire of Izanagi?” Syra exclaimed in surprise.

The Eastern Empire of Izanagi was renowned as one of the strongest empires in the world, particularly on the eastern continent.

They were true giants, rivaling even the Great Velmora Empire.

What made the empire most remarkable was its unique and exquisite culture.

Syra had heard they loved music and traditional dance, and that whenever musicians performed, audiences felt as if they were transported to another world.

Syra herself had never experienced this, having never had the chance to visit the empire.

Still, she hoped that one day she would go there to see and enjoy their culture firsthand.

“I’ve also heard of the Kingdom of Lorynth in the west, the Kingdom of Isendrell in the south, and several other regions of the continents.

But of course, the two empires I mentioned earlier remain the most prominent,” Orlan continued, leaning back.

Syra was silent for a moment before asking hesitantly, “My husband, with so many important people attending, do you think something bad might happen?” Orlan understood her concern immediately and did not try to dismiss it.

“Yes, there’s always a risk.

Honestly, moments like this are exactly when ill-intentioned people try to act.

If even one representative from a kingdom or empire were harmed, it could easily spark a major conflict.” In fact, he had been considering this very possibility for the past few days.

The Imperial Palace was heavily guarded, reinforced with a powerful magic circle capable of detecting intruders.

Still, no defense could guarantee absolute safety.

There were far too many reckless and desperate people in the world.

It wasn’t impossible that one or two might try to disrupt the banquet-even if it meant risking their lives.

“But rest assured, His Majesty has surely anticipated such dangers.

You don’t need to worry,” Orlan added, his tone calm and reassuring.

Syra said nothing, only nodding slightly.

Their horse-drawn carriage moved slowly forward, and at last, it was their turn to arrive.

The three of them stepped out one by one, when suddenly a warm voice called from beside them.

“Welcome, Marquis Orlan, Lady Syra, and Alicia.” They turned and saw Elina and Rafine standing there.

“Your Highness and Young Lady Rafine?” Orlan asked in surprise, not expecting them to welcome the guests personally.

Syra looked equally startled but quickly regained her composure.

“Thank you for the welcome, Princess, Young Lady Rafine,” she said politely.

“But why are you here?

Shouldn’t the candidates for the throne appear later?” Like at the emperor’s previous birthday, Elina was expected to arrive after the main guests.

Elina shook her head with a small smile.

“I asked Father for permission to welcome the guests, and he allowed it.

The others did the same.” She glanced ahead, where Cedric and Adalen were also greeting several noble families who had just stepped down from their carriages.

“I see…” Syra nodded in understanding.

“Sister Elina!” Alicia called out eagerly.

“Where’s Princess Eliza?

Has Masha arrived yet?” Elina gently pinched her cheek.

“They’re both inside.

Go on and see them.” “Yay!” Alicia jumped with joy, turning to her father and mother, her eyes shining with excitement and pleading.

Both of them simply smiled and nodded in unison.

With their blessing, Alicia happily ran into the palace.

“In that case, Syra and I will come in too, Your Highness and Young Lady Rafine,” Orlan said with a smile.

“Please, Marquis Orlan,” they replied politely.

With that, the two of them stepped inside the palace.

“By the way, Elina,” Rafine called out, “I heard Marquis Orlan is supporting you in the throne battle because of Nolan.

But… what exactly did that man do?” Until now, she still didn’t know the full reason why Nolan had acted in a way that made Orlan relent.

After all, Orlan was known as a stern and unapproachable man, very different from other noble heads of families.

Elina paused, thinking carefully.

“About that… I heard from my brother that he cured Alicia’s illness.

He also helped Lady Syra wake from her eternal sleep.” “What?

How could Nolan do that?” Rafine exclaimed, stunned.

She hadn’t expected anything like that.

If she had known, she would have asked about it sooner.

“I don’t know either,” Elina chuckled softly.

“Brother Nolan really is a mysterious man.

Behind his lazy demeanor, he hides something extraordinary.

That’s why I’m not worried at all about him going to the northern continent with Sister Sharon.” Elina had grown up with Nolan, so she naturally knew just how remarkable he was.

Still, she could never understand why he always acted in ways that went against what anyone would expect.

Could it be that he deliberately avoided the tasks Father assigned him?

Given his nature, it seemed entirely possible.

Rafine fell silent, lost in thought as if contemplating something deeply.

Meanwhile, the guests continued to arrive.

Elina and Rafine welcomed the noble families who supported her in the battle for the throne.

“Elina, I didn’t expect you to greet us outside,” Evalyn said with a broad smile.

“And look at you-you’re so beautiful!

And you too, Young Lady Rafine.” At the compliment, Elina and Rafine exchanged warm smiles.

“Thank you for the kind words, Evalyn.

By the way, where is Uncle Luke?

Why didn’t he come with you?” Hearing her father’s name, Evalyn rolled her eyes in mild annoyance.

“The old man’s busy with important family matters.” “Important matters?” Elina and Rafine murmured together.

“Yes,” Evalyn nodded.

Then her expression grew serious.

She glanced left and right cautiously before leaning in closer.

“Actually… Some troubling news arrived a few days ago.

The Demon Emperor is rumored to have been resurrected.”
