Chapter 377: A Siege and Battle (2)
Boom!

Four fireballs shot down from the sky, smashing into the swarm of monsters below.

Everything was reduced to ashes.

But in the next second, the monsters rose again, as if they had never been harmed.

“Tsk!” Draco clicked his tongue in annoyance. “Fighting the undead is the most irritating thing ever.”

If they were normal monsters, they would have died from his attack without question.

But, as the name suggests, the undead were different.

They possessed regenerative powers that defied logic.

The only way to truly finish them was with holy magic.

Unfortunately, neither he nor Cassiopeia was skilled in it.

Only Lyra could wield it—and she was at the Imperial Palace.

“Argh!” One of the city-level monsters raised its sword high and swung at him.

Draco quickly dodged just in time.

Boom!

The attack struck the spot where he had been standing, leaving a two-meter-deep crater.

He leapt into the air, clenching his right palm as it slowly transformed into a dragon’s arm, then swung a fist at the monster.

Bang!

His punch obliterated the creature into pieces.

Not stopping there, he flicked his left hand, and five interconnected magic circles, each four meters wide, appeared, glowing with a bright red light.

Scaly hands erupted from the magic circles, dragging the monsters directly above them into the ground until they vanished from sight.

But strangely, twice as many monsters as those that had disappeared emerged from the five portals behind Levi.

“Hahaha!” Levi laughed, his voice echoing with glee. “Don’t think that’s all my monsters! The more you destroy, the more will appear!”

He raised both hands above his head, clearly enjoying their despair.

“Damn it!” Draco cursed through gritted teeth.

Honestly, he could have wiped out every monster here in his dragon form—and taken Levi down too.

But his attack would be so immense that it might destroy not only the hall but also the very dimension that imprisoned them.

Two disastrous outcomes loomed if he did that: Nolan, Sharon, and Jack could be killed by the shockwave, or they might all be thrown into a dimensional rift, scattering them randomly across the continent.

If that happened, their journey to the Kingdom of Kaldarion would fail.

And His Majesty the Emperor would undoubtedly be furious, punishing him severely.

Reluctantly, Draco realized he had to find a way to defeat Levi while restraining his power—careful not to destroy this fragile dimension.

Suppressing his frustration, he pressed his hands together, and a large portal opened behind him.

Soon after, an eight-meter-long dragon head emerged, letting out a roar that shook the soul itself.

The monsters in front of him froze, then crumbled into dust.

But, as before, they slowly reformed and launched themselves at him again.

On the other side of the battlefield, Sharon found herself in a tight spot.

None of her magical attacks had any lasting effect on the monsters, which only added to her frustration.

This is really troublesome, she muttered coldly.

She raised both hands, and six purple magic circles appeared in the air. Lightning surged from them, obliterating all monsters within a five-meter radius.

Annoyingly, they came back to life, as if they had never been hit by her attack.

And even more surprisingly, they became slightly stronger each time they revived, putting her in a cornered situation.

Suddenly, she remembered her younger brother, who was also fighting those monsters.

She turned to her right, about to shout, but froze when she saw Nolan moving with a breathtakingly graceful fighting style.

“This…” Her eyes widened in surprise.

Nolan leapt from one side to the other, twin daggers flashing, cutting down every monster near him.

His movements were dynamic, fluid, and precise—more like a dancer than a fighter.

“What’s going on? Since when did he have such skill?”

Questions swirled in her mind. To Sharon, Nolan was mysterious and hard to read.

He usually seemed lazy, quiet, and a little annoying—though mostly only to his brothers, like Aldric, Cedric, and the others.

With his sisters, he was always kind and obedient, though occasionally rebellious.

Yet because of this, Sharon, Freya, Selena, and Seira adored him sincerely, in stark contrast to the other princes.

Could he have been training in secret? Or was Father forcing him?

She leaned toward the second option—and that was reassuring. If so, she no longer had to worry about her own safety.

Sharon’s spirit ignited. Clenching her right fist, she shouted, “Let’s get serious now!”

Meanwhile, Nolan’s battle with the monsters grew even fiercer.

He leapt and spun with smooth, calm precision, striking with such accuracy that the monsters never even realized how they died.

Unfortunately, Sharon didn’t realize that, unlike her, Cassiopeia, and Draco, Nolan’s attacks were preventing the monsters from reviving.

“Such weak undead,” Nolan muttered as he slashed the head off the monster to his right.

The creature collapsed, showing no sign of reviving.

Nolan’s purple eyes faintly shifted, taking on the shape of sun and star pupils—the Eyes of Chaos.

With them, nothing could be hidden from him, not even the mechanism that brought the monsters back to life.

Through those eyes, he could see faint blue threads—hundreds of times thinner than a strand of hair—floating in the air and controlling the monsters.

All those threads converged at a single point: Levi.

But this is strange. Cassiopeia has the Phantom Eyes… so why can’t she see this? Nolan wondered silently.

He glanced at Cassiopeia in the distance, seeing her use the Phantom Eyes, yet she seemed unaware of the threads.

Could the threads be so thin that she simply can’t detect them?

That was the only explanation that made sense.

Shaking his head, Nolan spun his twin daggers and, without turning, cut down the two monsters that leaped behind him.

Then he stepped back, stopping about ten meters from where Sharon stood.

“Sister, can you help me?”

Sharon, mid-spell, looked up in surprise. Her eyes met his, and she asked loudly, “What is it, brother?”

“I know how to stop all these monsters—and Levi too,” Nolan said. “But I need your help to clear the way. Can you do it?”
