Chapter 467: 467
“Farewell my children and brother in arms.”

“It’s time for this old man to exit from the stage of life and give place to the next generation.”

“Don’t be sad!”

The bright light slowly faded after illuminating the entire region. For a moment it felt like the world had turned into pure white, yet as the glow dispersed, everyone realized something terrifying.

Emperor Edward was missing.

A stunned silence spread for a heartbeat.

Then chaos exploded.

“Your Majesty!”

“Your Majesty!!!”

The crowd who were watching the broadcast were taken aback.

People screamed as they rushed forward.

Some fell to their knees while others desperately searched around as if the Emperor would suddenly reappear. Panic rose like a storm. Knights grabbed their helmets with trembling hands.

Some shook uncontrollably.

Roosevelt and Martina stood still with frozen expressions. Their eyes were wide, their faces pale, and even their breathing felt hollow as they tried to understand what had just happened.

But before they could think further, both felt a huge surge of power crash into their bodies. It was like a tidal wave of strength pouring into their cores. The sheer amount made both of them stagger.

“This…” Martina whispered, touching her chest as the energy continued to merge with her.

Roosevelt looked at Martina. Martina looked back. The shock in their eyes was the same.

“Your Majesty…” Roosevelt turned as he saw Pleard fall to his knees in front of them.

Pleard’s voice trembled slightly. “Please make the declaration.”

“But…” Roosevelt hesitated. His fists tightened by his side. His lips trembled for a moment. He was clearly overwhelmed.

“You can’t falter,” Pleard said firmly. He lifted his head and met Roosevelt’s eyes with a serious gaze. “Don’t let His Majesty’s deeds go to waste.”

Roosevelt’s throat tightened. Martina placed a hand on his shoulder. Roosevelt closed his eyes for a moment and took a deep breath, then stepped forward.

He let his newly gained power spread around him. The air rippled.

“My people!” he shouted, and the trembling crowd slowly turned toward him.

“Father Emperor, the Blood Emperor of Heizen, isn’t dead.”

People gasped. Murmurs spread.

“Instead of getting hurried into a coffin, he used his remaining power to form a will.”

Roosevelt clenched his fist tightly as he spoke. “And this will be proof that he will be alive in our hearts.”

BOOOOM!

A sound akin to a blast of thunder clap followed by a shockwave blasted everyone creating a huge ripple.

He swallowed hard because even though he said those words, a deep sadness stabbed his chest.

“So don’t grieve.” His voice cracked slightly but he forced himself to continue.

He then raised his fist high.

“Our first target will be Nightstar!”

People blinked in confusion.

“Those bloody men of the Abyssal Cult have taken over it.”

“Huh?”

“What!”

The crowd erupted again. Panic, shock, and fear mixed into their voices.

The name Abyssal Cult itself sent shivers through the people. The memories attached to that name still lingered like a nightmare.

“Nightstar!”

“Heizen has had enough!”

“It’s time to counterattack!”

Someone shouted, then another, and soon, thousands of voices erupted together.

“Hail Heizen!”

“Hail Heizen!”

“Hail Heizen!”

The powerful, united cry shook the entire land. It echoed through the palace walls and beyond the capital, reaching far into the distance.

And that day was marked as the death of the previous Emperor and the rise of the newly crowned young Emperor.

With Roosevelt’s declaration, Heizen, which had been defending non-stop, finally began to fight back. Their forces surged forward with renewed strength and courage. The border lit up with fierce battles as soldiers fought toe to toe without backing down.

Yet Heizen still faced one major problem.

The nobles who had defected.

They had abandoned their posts. Their betrayal acted like poison that slowed down the entire kingdom.

…

“Shit… This is bullshit.”

Kael threw a stone aside, visibly irritated.

Ramos turned toward him with a casual expression. “What’s bullshit in this?”

Kael’s face twisted with annoyance. The others also looked at him with questioning eyes, which made him frown even more.

“Didn’t you notice that?” he asked, pointing back toward the direction of the palace.

“Notice what?” Vic and Handel leaned forward with curious looks.

Chris nudged Gare with his elbow. “Did you catch anything?”

“I don’t know,” Gare replied honestly, shaking his head. Kael let out a heavy sigh.

It seemed not everyone had noticed. Either they couldn’t or they had been too preoccupied by the chaos.

“Roosevelt and Martina have stepped into SSS rank!” Kael finally said.

The entire group fell silent.

“Lord, you are joking right?” Vic muttered, staring blankly.

“Wait, weren’t they SS ranks a few days ago? How the hell did they jump so much?” Handel asked with confusion.

“It’s because of Emperor Edward…” Kael rubbed his forehead as he explained. “What he did was transfer his life force and remaining energy to raise both of their realms.”

Kael clicked his tongue. “Now that I think, isn’t this fucking cheating? No, this is super cheating.”

If the people Kael had devoured could hear him, they would probably die again from anger.

Was there any form of cheating greater than Kael’s own skills?

“There is nothing wrong with that,” Ramos said, puffing his chest a bit. “A father just gave away his power to his children.”

Kael stared at him with a blank face. “Why don’t you also do the same and give me your power and die?”

“FUCK off!” Ramos snapped instantly, almost raising his middle finger. His expression twisted in shock. “Brat, do you want me to die!? How can you be so cruel?”

Kael shrugged. “Is there anyone in the house who isn’t cold and cruel?”

Ramos froze for a moment and swallowed hard.

Kael then stood up.

“I can’t just sit and watch.”

Ramos looked up at him. “What are you going to do?”

Kael’s lips curved slowly into an eerie smile.

“Isn’t Roosevelt going to clear the internal rebellion? I will handle that.”

Ramos raised an eyebrow and stared at Kael carefully as if trying to judge whether he should be worried or impressed.
