Chapter 466: 466
“When did you create that group?”

“A few days ago? How?”

Kael lifted his chin slightly, proud. “Did you forget who I am?”

“Who are you?”

Kael almost slipped hearing this and glared at Vic who shrinked back,”I was just adding effect.”

“Cough.. So who I am…I am the future Grand Duke. The ruler of the vast Grand Duchy, the bearer of the Lion Flag and The epitome of Charisma.”

Vic blinked, irritated. “Can you stop being narcissistic!”

Kael and Vic continued grumbling at each other until Gare coughed loudly.

“My Lord! It’s starting!”

Kael straightened, clearing his throat as if nothing happened. “Uhh… Sorry.” He stopped talking and looked ahead quietly.

Before them stretched a massive grand hall. The gallery was wide, decorated with layered silk banners and crystal chandeliers hanging like captured stars.

The walls were carved with gold-lined patterns and tall marble pillars stood like silent guardians. The entire floor was covered with a red and white carpet, thick enough to bury footsteps softly. Rows of noble families filled the seats, dressed in colors as bright as jewels.

Musicians played slow ceremonial drums while people whispered in excitement. The air had a festive heaviness, like everyone was waiting for the moment history would change.

It was Roosevelt’s succession ceremony.

The transfer of Crown.

“Papapa.. Papa… Elfie also wants to go there!” The little fairy hopped on Kael’s shoulder, eyes shining like a child watching fireworks.

On the opposite side, a tiny lion cub stood on Vic’s arm and roared softly. “Roroar.. Roar..” as if declaring he too deserved a crown someday.

Kael snorted and patted the cub. “Don’t worry, we will have one!” He looked sideways at Ruth with a challenging grin. “When are you going to pass me the seat? Right now you are just warming it.”

Ruth’s eyes narrowed, voice cold. “Do you think you are even strong enough to sit here? You are just an S rank.”

“Yeah. It’s for now but it will change very soon.” Kael’s smile curled sharper, a sinister confidence flashing that made a few nobles shiver with déjà vu.

They were just about to start arguing again when Emilia tapped the railing in front of them.

“Stop both of you.”

The two fell silent like scolded children.

Drums rose louder. Their beats echoed against the high dome ceiling as Edward walked onto the stage with a staff in hand. His steps were steady but his body looked more fragile than before, like a candle still burning though its wick was thin.

He stood before thousands. The entire event was being broadcast across the Empire through mana screens. Everyone, even those far beyond this hall, could see him.

Edward raised his voice.

“I have been in this position for almost 70 years. Now it is time for me to relinquish this burden and appoint the head.”

The crowd went silent, breath held.

“Please welcome the successor…”

His voice carried weight like mountains.

“Roosevelt De Luther!”

Cheers erupted like a storm.

Roosevelt walked forward. His presence alone was enough to silence a crowd if he wished.

He wore a ceremonial white and deep black, long cape trailing behind. His face was cold, sharp like a blade forged under pressure. His eyes were calm yet deep, and every step he took echoed with authority. He looked like a man born for the throne. A noble figure carved perfectly from duty and pride.

Kael felt something strange stir in his chest. He frowned lightly, sensing something out of place.

“He will only be appointed as Crown Prince right?” Chris whispered.

Vic stared at him like he was clueless. “Are you an idiot or what? Do you think he would just become an Emperor?”

“Isn’t that foolish!” Handle added, glancing at Kael. But Kael’s expression was distant, uneasy. They felt something odd but could not name it.

Roosevelt reached Edward and held his frail hands. Emotion flickered through him, complicated and heavy. There was no loving father-son bond, no warm memories.

They grew with respect, not affection. The Emperor treated all his sons equally and strictly. No bullying, no favoritism. They received everything, but not love. So his tremble was not sadness. It was the weight of change.

Edward patted Roosevelt gently. “You have grown well.”

Martina stepped forward next. Kael raised his brows at her appearance. She dressed differently today. Usually she carried herself with boldness and rough confidence, yet now she wore a flowing noble gown. It held elegance she rarely showed. A subtle feminine glow surrounded her, and Kael couldn’t stop the small chuckle that slipped from him.

At the end, he was still a man, and noticing beauty was natural.

He thought quietly to himself.

‘I might be unlucky in many things… but in matters of love I got the best. Where do you find girls who fight against God, become God, and then defy God to bring back their lover? ‘

‘Fuck, I am feeling nostalgic.’

Edward took both Roosevelt and Martina’s hands, raising them high.

“These two children have grown well so I ask you all to support them just like you supported me.”

He continued speaking a little longer, his voice warm, bittersweet. He talked about duty, about the future, about how power should protect and not rule with fear.

After the speech, Pleard walked forward carrying a silver tiara. Edward took it carefully and placed it on Martina’s head. The hall shimmered under its glow.

“You always wanted me to put a tiara on your head. I hope you liked it.”

Martina smiled, soft and sincere. “I was just immature at that time.”

Old memories flickered in her eyes. The times she cried when other girls received tiaras from their fathers. The years she longed for affection that never came. But now those scars felt lighter.

Edward then turned to Roosevelt. Something in his expression hinted at pain, relief, farewell. He almost hesitated but steadied himself.

“Bow down.”

Roosevelt knelt.

Everyone expected the announcement of the Crown Prince.

Instead, Edward did something unthinkable.

He reached to his own head.

And slowly removed the Emperor’s Crown.

Gasps filled the hall.

Edward placed the crown over Roosevelt’s head.

“From today… No, from now… You are the Emperor.”

Shock burst like thunder.

“Whatat!”

“Hell!”

“This!”

The entire hall shook in disbelief. People wanted to protest. Some internally screamed.

‘Your Majesty, aren’t you skipping a few steps!?’

But before anyone could question it, the world itself changed.

BOOM!

A power exploded from Edward. His aura roared like a storm erupting from ancient mountains. Light wrapped around him and a massive phantom form appeared above the capital. Lightning crawled across the sky like wild serpents. The ground trembled as if bowing.

Everyone froze under the weight of it.

Demi-God.

A power beyond kings and a power beyond mortal grasp.

“My people!”

Edward’s voice thundered through sky and earth.

“In all my years… I did all I think was best. However, the future still troubles me. So I will craft a will that from now on would protect this city.”

A glowing barrier began forming, spreading over the entire capital like a luminous sky dome.

“Any Demi-God stepping into 100km of the Capital with murderous intent shall be attacked.”

The will expanded, pure, unstoppable.

Edward turned one last time to his children.

“Now… before leaving. Here is a parting gift.”

Ramos yelled seeing the huge distant image and screamed,”Son of bitch… Stop…”

“FUCKKK! Stop!”

But it was too late.

A pillar of radiant power burst from Edward’s body, splitting into beams that shot across the sky like judgment itself.

Following it drops of light started to fall down on the Capital of Heizen.
