The Grand Duke's Son Is A Heretic - Chapter 444
Chapter 444: 444
“Is it really him?” Duke Serpentine spoke aloud as he took a deep breath. His face looked tense when he saw the ominous man standing far away with a black mask on his face.
“He looks like that person, however he also looks like someone who has lost his mind and gone crazy,” Luke muttered. His fingers twitched as if he was ready to run.
“Unlike the one we saw in the Virtual Realm, this guy looks quite normal,” he added with a nervous swallow.
At that time Ruth, who had been silent the whole time, finally spoke.
“The more normal a crazy person appears, the crazier he might be inside,” he said slowly, and both men froze. Her tone made their skin crawl.
……..
As the Stone of Restore started to activate, Kael felt a massive surge of power gathering inside him. It was not subtle. It rumbled through the air like a storm waking up. The ground cracked around his feet as if unable to hold the pressure. The sky trembled and ripples formed like waves on water.
Everyone who stood near him squealed in shock. Even the veterans who had seen hundreds of battles were not prepared for the sudden burst. The air itself felt heavy and scorching hot, and some were pushed back by the invisible force spreading from Kael’s body.
Kael let out a strange sound.
“Ahh… it’s addictive.”
His incomprehensible moan made several people shudder. It sounded too wild and too eager.
Even the Archangel of War flinched a bit and started to tremble. Her expression was practically crying.
Kael’s expression twisted, and his eyes glowed with a cold thrill.
“Killing guys who mock mortals yet show the same fear… it feels so good,” he said quietly, and that alone made the Archangel of War tremble.
The Archangel of War knew instantly she was finished. Those soulless eyes staring at her were not something she could face at her current strength.
“No… this is just a temporary effect. I just need to avoid it,” she told herself as she forced her wings open.
With a violent gust of wind she shot upward, trying to flee the scene.
“What!” Ramos was bewildered by the sudden retreat. He cursed loudly and ran after her.
“Damn… come back here, you bitch!”
Not even in their wildest dreams they expected the figure of such stature to flee.
SWISH!
The Archangel of War flew at a speed that could barely be seen by the naked eye. She cut through the sky like a streak of light. Her wings fluttered with desperate force as she tried to escape from the monster chasing her.
But in the middle of her flight she felt something closing in. It was fast and lethal. She twisted her body sharply and narrowly avoided a devastating strike.
A golden had caught up to her. The tip sliced the air right past her shoulder. Just as she dodged, the spear flickered like it was fading.
And in its place, a humanoid figure appeared right in front of her.
The figure that was enough to give her nightmare of several centuries.
“Teleportation!” she gasped.
“NOOO!” she shrieked and tried to fling herself backward, but how could Kael allow that?
Before she could even spread her wings again, Kael drew his sword.
[Dimensional Slash: 4th Form]
SWISH.
His figure vanished for a single instant and appeared behind her. His sword already finished its path. There was a short and eerie silence, as if the whole world held its breath.
Then everything exploded.
BOOOOM!
RUMBLE! RUMBLE! RUMBLE!
The world itself seemed to tear apart. A massive slash stretched across the sky and land, splitting them in one clean cut. A huge rift tore open like the world was made of fragile stone. Cracks spread fast, and a crackling sound echoed as space shattered like glass.
The Archangel of War screamed.
“Gyaaaaaaaaaaa!”
Her body convulsed violently. The divine power that protected her until now was ripped apart by the slash. She looked down in horror as she saw her own hands sliding down from her wrists. Blood spurted in the air as her wings shook uncontrollably.
Kael slid his sword back into position and smiled faintly.
“Now it’s all yours to finish the job,” he said calmly.
Edward and Ramos stared at the Archangel of War. For a moment they were stunned by the violent scene.
The barrier was gone. The protective blessing was gone. She was wide open, weakened, and barely holding her form together.
Her wings trembled. Her breathing grew shallow as she tried to speak, but nothing came out. She looked nothing like the proud Archangel who had descended earlier. Her eyes widened with terror as she realized there was no escape now.
Ramos stepped forward slowly, gripping his sword tightly.
Edward raised his staff, his expression grim yet focused.
Kael stood behind them, silent and relaxed, as if he had seen this scene countless times.
“Everything had been set.”
“So do it.”
The end of the Archangel of War was now in the hands of the two men standing before her.
“Yes, leave it to us now.”
BOOOOOM!
A heavy surge of power burst out of Edward’s spear and Ramos’s sword as the two men steadied their stances. The ground shook beneath their feet. Dust lifted in clouds and the air rippled from the pressure alone. Their auras swelled like storms rising at once.
Edward’s whole arm trembled for a moment as he gathered every last bit of his strength. His spear glowed with a blinding gold light that seemed to tear open the air around it. Sparks crackled like tiny stars bursting apart. He narrowed his eyes, drew in a sharp breath and then hurled the spear forward with everything he had.
“Imperial Majesty. The Final Judgement!”
The spear tore through the air and the pressure behind it felt like a collapsing mountain. It left behind a long golden trail that vibrated the sky itself. Even Ramos took half a step back from the force of that one throw.
Ramos then raised his sword slowly and the air around him twisted. Water gathered from thin air, swirling around the blade like a living serpent. He gripped the hilt with both hands and slid his foot back. His expression turned serious and calm as he moved his sword in a slow arc. The water tightened around the blade and then stretched forward, forming a razor-thin line.
Ramos whispered under his breath as he swung.
“Azure Flow Severance.”
