Chapter 429: 429
Outside, the atmosphere turned heavy and grim. A chilling silence spread across the area before the crowd erupted into confusion and fear.

“What’s… going on?”

“What the hell is this?”

People screamed in shock as they stared at the massive display showing the battles. First, an enormous octopus-like creature had been summoned to something that didn’t belong to this world. And now, another being had appeared, a woman claiming to be the Archangel of War.

Everyone watched in disbelief. The ground trembled beneath the aura radiating from the scene.

Seraphina, the current Saintess, stood up suddenly, her expression twisted in fury. Her voice cut through the noise like a blade.

“What is this insolence? Just who the hell designed this?” she demanded, her tone sharp and filled with anger. “Summoning a creature like that… this is clearly a violation!”

Her eyes turned toward the Emperor, who had also risen from his seat. His expression was grave, his gaze fixed on the chaos displayed before him.

“I also feel the same,” he said quietly but firmly. “This has gone beyond what it should be. Someone must have tampered with this.”

The world of the virtual realm is still confined within the imagination crafted by Mage.It won’t follow a scenario that had been planned which means they expected this.

And this was unprecedented.

He turned his head toward one of the guards.

“Pleard!”

“Yes, Your Majesty!” the man answered, bowing deeply.

“Go and take a look. I want everyone involved in this to be punished,” the Emperor said, his tone heavy with authority. The weight in his voice made the people around him fall silent.

Meanwhile, in the stands, Emilia gasped and covered her mouth with her hand. Her wide eyes reflected disbelief.

Beside her, Ruth and Ramos sat frozen. Their faces turned dark, veins bulging on their foreheads as they clenched their fists.

“Just what is that girl doing?” Ruth muttered through gritted teeth.

“She’s crossing the damn line!” Ramos shouted, slamming his fist against the railing. The loud sound made several people flinch nearby.

He was about to say more when Lyria, who sat a few seats away, whispered faintly, her hands clutching her head.

“Demon of Ruthlessness…”

“Huh?” Ramos and Ruth turned toward her immediately.

“Do you know something?” Ruth asked urgently.

Lyria shook her head slightly, her expression filled with unease. “Nothing much… just faint memories,” she murmured, biting her lip.

“He is a legend even in the Demon world.”

Emilia looked between them and spoke softly, “Seeing everyone’s reaction… he must be quite famous among demons.”

……..

BOOOOM!

A violent wave of crimson mist erupted from the figure, shaking both the earth and the sky. The explosion of power distorted the air itself, and for a brief moment, the entire sky turned blood red. Everything around seemed to twist and warp under the overwhelming aura.

The world stood still.

A chilling sensation crawled down everyone’s spine, and their bodies froze in fear. The ground trembled as that eerie red light swallowed everything. The air grew heavier with every breath.

If the Archangel of War’s presence once brought deadly pressure, then this—this was something far worse. It was like death itself had descended, standing right in front of them, waiting to reap their souls.

“Wh… Who is he?” Vic stammered, his voice trembling with pure fear. The oppressive force made his mind blur as he started seeing illusions—rivers of corpses, blood flowing endlessly, and mountains of bodies piled behind the man’s back. The crimson mist seemed alive, whispering and growling, feeding on fear.

Martina and the others could hardly breathe. Their faces were pale as they stared at the masked figure who stood still in the sea of red mist.

“Who is this guy?” she asked with a shaking voice.

Someone beside her answered in disbelief, “He’s Ruthless.”

“WHAT?!” everyone shouted at once, horror spreading through the crowd.

Hans turned slowly toward them, his eyes wide with shock. His voice trembled as he spoke, “From ancient times, there were seven clans of demons each born from one of the seven deadly sins who were already present since long ago. But this man… this man isn’t one of them.”

He swallowed hard before continuing, “He appeared only in recent years. He kills without hesitation, without emotion. It doesn’t matter if they are human or demon. He doesn’t care. He’s earned the name… the Demon of Ruthlessness.”

The entire battlefield grew silent at those words. Even the Archangel of War paused for a moment.

Kael, standing behind them, could only exhale in disbelief as he looked at the figure.

“Damn,” he muttered with a small grin. “Is that how people looked at me before?”

A strange thrill went through him, and he couldn’t stop himself from thinking, Fuck… this feels awesome.

Everyone stared as the crimson mist rolled through the broken land, burning everything it touched. It felt like time itself had stopped, as if the world was waiting for something terrifying to happen.

Then the Archangel of War finally moved.

“Insolent fool!” she roared, her voice echoing like thunder. “You dare stand before me?”

Her figure blurred as she lunged forward, wings spread wide. Divine light radiated from her, shaking the air apart. But before she could even reach him, a surge of foreign energy burst from the masked man.

The ground cracked open as a suffocating red light swallowed everything.

[Domain of Slaughter]

The world turned crimson.

The air became thick with the scent of blood. Rivers of gore formed beneath their feet, and countless ghostly figures screamed in agony from all directions. The sky was gone—replaced by a swirling vortex of despair and hatred. The Archangel found herself trapped in a nightmare that felt like it had no end.

She flinched as the bloody mist clung to her wings, corroding them. “What… What is this place?!”

The masked man’s voice came from behind her, low and calm. “Welcome to my domain.”

Before she could react, a blade sliced through the air.

CRACK!

Her divine shield shattered into fragments of light. She staggered back, coughing out blood, her expression full of disbelief.

“Impossible!” she screamed, her eyes trembling. “No mortal should have this power!”

“Stop!” she roared, gathering her energy. “I am the Archangel of War! Everywhere I go, blood and corpses follow! How can a tiny human understand the essence of war?”

The masked man tilted his head slightly, his cold voice cutting through her words.

“Shut up, bitch.”

A crimson flash crossed the air as his blade struck again.

BOOOOM!

The explosion sent her crashing into the ground, her wings tearing as she tried to defend herself. The divine barrier around her flickered, barely holding.

She tried to laugh, blood dripping from her mouth. “Ha… hahahaha! It’s useless! It’s useless!” she screamed, trying to convince herself more than anyone else.

But then, amid the echoes of her hysterical laughter, she heard his voice again closer this time, calm and cold.

“Hey,” he said, his tone emotionless. “You talk too much.”

Her eyes widened.

The next moment, she felt her body lift off the ground, and her breath choked as someone slammed on her back.

“I don’t like these pigeon wings so let me tear that apart for you,”then his hand clamped tightly around her wings. His grip was merciless as his fingers dug into her flesh as if to crush the bones beneath.

“ARGHHHHHHH!”

Her scream ripped through the air, shrill and filled with agony. It was a sound that made even the demons nearby flinch. Her voice cracked as pain spread through her entire body, echoing across the blood-soaked battlefield.

CRACK!

With a savage pull, her wings were torn from her back mercilessly.

Blood sprayed like a fountain, splattering across the ground in crimson streaks.

The blood that fell onto ground give rise to strange creatures but the masked man simply ignored it.

The radiant feathers that once symbolized divine purity scattered and burned in the crimson aura surrounding him. Her body convulsed violently, her eyes wide in shock and terror.

“AAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!” she screamed again, her throat tearing apart as her body twisted in midair.

Her leftover wings, still flapping weakly in his grip, dripped with her divine blood. She struggled to stand, golden light bursting from her body as she tried to heal. But every spark of light was sucked into the darkness spreading from the masked man’s palm.

He lifted his hand slowly. “Devour.”

SWISH!

The light around her dimmed instantly. Her power vanished as if swallowed whole by an unseen abyss.

“N-No… my power… my divinity…” she gasped, her voice trembling with disbelief.

“You….AHhhh!”

The power of divinity seemed to be sucked out of her.

The masked man moved before she could react. His fist smashed into her stomach with bone-crushing force.

BOOM!

She coughed up blood, the air leaving her lungs. He followed it up with a brutal knee strike to her ribs, then a punch to her face that sent her crashing into the ground. The earth cracked beneath the impact.

She tried to crawl away, her body trembling, but he appeared in front of her. He grabbed her hair and slammed her head into the ground again and again.

THUD! THUD! THUD!

Her screams turned into ragged gasps, blood pooling beneath her. The glow of divinity in her eyes started to fade.

He finally let go, tossing her aside like a broken doll. She hit the ground with a thud and lay motionless, her body trembling weakly.

The masked man walked closer, dragging his blade along the ground. Each step left a trail of sparks dancing in the air, the sound of metal against stone cutting through the silence.

“You claim to be the Archangel of War,” he said, his shadow falling over her. His voice was low and cold. “But you don’t even know what war is.”

He crouched beside her, watching her fading light. “War isn’t about power, light, or faith. It’s about who’s willing to drown the deepest in blood.”

Her eyes trembled, a faint glimmer of fear and confusion flickering inside them. She tried to lift her arm, but he raised his sword.

CRAAASH!

The ground exploded as the blade came down. Blood splattered in all directions, painting the air red.

Her scream echoed one last time, fading into the crimson mist that enveloped the battlefield.

The masked man stood tall, his figure wrapped in swirling blood-red haze. His eyes beneath the mask glowed faintly, filled with cold fury.

The Domain of Slaughter pulsed one last time before slowly fading away, leaving only silence and the heavy stench of death behind.

He looked down at the fallen Archangel, his voice low and filled with disdain.

“War? Don’t talk to me about war. You might have been born from it, but this very war made me what I am today.”

“And you all..”He turned around at them giving them a shiver..

“What are you looking at?”

He lifted his sword once more, its blade gleaming with deadly light.

“Dimensional Slash: Fourth Form.”
