Chapter 446: Finally the end
“Then, you won’t mind if I decide to fill this place up with some life, will you?”

He looked at me puzzled for a second and asked, “What does that mean?”

His question somehow jabbed my heart but I didn’t let it get to me and kept my smile up.

“Well, nothing deep,” I said quickly. “Just that you shouldn’t let all this space go to waste.” I laughed and he looked away, almost embarrassed by the thought, or was it my smile?

In any case, I could see the tainted hue on that pale skin of his.

“You talk too much.” He said.

“I know,” I said with a grin, clutching his arm tighter. “But you don’t talk enough, so it balances out.”

He didn’t reply, but he didn’t pull away either.

We stood there on the stairs for a moment, each trying to understand the others intentions. He had it rougher than me since I had my goal set out while he was stuck in a loop he didn’t understand.

“You…” He filled his eyes back to me but once he caught my gaze, turned away immediately and said, “Do whatever you want.”

Wow, is that a blush I see? I’ll take it that I’m making progress in creeping into your heart.

“Okay then, let’s head up now.” I said to him, cheerfully and he nodded, proceeding yo the stairs.

Holding hands… Had definitely become an habit. He may not love me now, but he definitely loved my warmth.

We went upstairs, our steps soft against the floor. As we got to the top of the floor, I caught a figure at the end of the hallway.

I squinted my eyes, as if that would help me see clearly and nearly clicked my tongue as I saw it was Inseop.

Right. I nearly forgot he existed and would be robbing a bit of our space.

He stood straight, his expression as stiff as ever, like he’d been stationed there for hours. I’m telling you, he’s probably a robot.

“What were you doing?” Sung-min asked and he turned his head.

“I was waiting,” he said. “I need to know which room Esper Sung-min will be using so I can have the room next to him. I didn’t want to inconvenience you by interrupting so I waited.”

Gosh, you already interrupted us the moment your presence was known.

He was handsome and all but hearing him speak with such a robotic tone and the thought of how I’d have to be cautious with some of my actions made me want to set his hair on fire.

At this point, even an handsome man could be an eyesore.

‘What an eyesore.’

Sung-min gave a small nod, walking ahead.

“I’m using this room,” he said simply, as he pointed to the second door on the right.

My gaze followed his hand — and my heart sank. I just remembered one teeny tiny detail. The room next to Sung-min’s had originally been mine, in my past life, but not this eyesore wants to have it.

And I can’t even fight for it.

Ugh.

In my previous life in this house, I’d stayed there. Slept, dreamed, cried, laughed… Plotted. All of that was in that same room, so much memories.

It was probably empty now but I filled it with my things so much that even my scent clung to the walls.

I swallowed down the feeling and forced a smile.

“Well, that’s convenient,” I muttered under my breath. “He’s going to be right next door.”

Sung-min turned to look at me. I don’t know if he noticed the sting in my tone but I just waved it off.

“Anyway, Let’s move on.”

Inseop nodded once, already stepping toward the door and I felt pins on my flesh.

“I’ll take this room, then.”

I wanted to stop him. It would just seem like I wanted to be in the room next to his because I was his guide but then if I did that, I would’ve have any justification for sleeping in Sung-min’s room.

Even if I did plan to stay in Sung-min’s room, I wanted to have that room too.

‘I guess I’ll just have to hold on until he leaves.’ I thought. But he better watch his back at night, hmph.

I watched him open the door and disappear inside. My jaw tightened without me realizing it.

When Sung-min reached for his door, I followed close behind and he turned to me.

“Have you picked your room?” He asked but I just smiled. “Does that mean you’ve picked your room?” I nodded, stilling smiling quite widely. “Alright then. I should leave you to get some rest.”

He let go of my hand and began to walk to his room but I followed.

Seeing me follow, he turned again.

“Aren’t you going to rest?”

“Of course. I’m going there now.”

“But…” He felt a little unsure, like he was missing something. “…why are you following me?”

“What do you mean, why? It’s because I’m going to bunk with you, so of course we’re both going in the same direction.”

His eyebrows arched in confusion and he asked,

“What?”

“I mean, since the guy from the agency is going to be take the room next door, its only right that I take the space that’s closest to you, right ?” I said with the most innocent tone I could muster. “You wouldn’t want to suddenly feel cold at night, would you? I get hot easily, so we can do each other a favor.” My tone turned softer and I gazed at him with hidden intentions. “I am, after all, your guide,”

Even a fool would understand what I was trying to hint at, so let’s hope he understands as well.

His eyes narrowed slightly, flickering with suspicion.

“You want to sleep in the same room with me?” He asked and I nodded. “But I have only one bed.”

“What does that matter?” I asked and chuckled. “We could just ‘share’ the bed.”

A brief silence enveloped us and then he opened his mouth to talk. I thought he had finally seen sense to it but then he said,

“You’ll sleep in the guest room.” It caught me off guard.

But no matter. I already had a response planned for this.

I clasped my hands behind my back and tilted my head.

“If I must. But I’ll just end up here anyway.” I said. “Wouldn’t it be better to already know that I’m in the room than for you to be startled when you see me crawl into your bed at night?”

He exhaled quietly, as if realizing resistance was futile.

“You’re impossible,” he said.

“I know,” I said cheerfully, stepping right past him and into the room.

The faint, familiar scent of him emanating from every corner of the room hit me and I felt my chest tighten again, not with sadness this time, but with something painfully warm.

This was Sung-min’s room. Ah, the memories we made in here. The more memories we can make.

I felt my mouth water at the ‘interactions’ that happened in here.

I can’t wait to remake them, muhahaha.

“Choi Joon-ho,” Sung-min called and I turned my head, wiping the drool off my mouth.

“Please, call me babe.” I said over a snicker but that only gave him goosebumps.

He shook his head and placed his hand on his head.

“Are you truly doing all this because you have feelings for me?”
