The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order - Chapter 2329
Chapter 2329: Cain’s evolution
Cain stood beside a river, his posture relaxed, his face calm, and his heart steady. Even as the sky trembled and the laws and rules of the dimension descended into disarray, he did not open his eyes. He remained perfectly still, as if detached from the upheaval around him.
The reason for his absolute focus was simple.
At that very moment, his Black Hole—the manifested core of his soul force and cultivation base—was undergoing a massive evolution. After months spent crossing hostile terrain, assimilating energy born of supreme laws, and devouring the life and essence of countless abominations, Cain had finally reached a critical threshold.
Step by step, refinement by refinement, he had pushed his cultivation to its breaking point.
Now, it was advancing.
Small bursts of power began to echo from within his body and Soul Dimension. At first, they were faint, barely noticeable, but with every passing second, they grew stronger and more violent. The pulses stacked upon one another, surging again and again until his entire existence shook. Every cell of his body trembled. Every particle of his soul resonated.
Then, in a single overwhelming moment, the transformation was completed.
Cain became an Alpha-Omega Overgod!
His eyes snapped open, glowing brighter than ever before. A radiant smile appeared on his face as he felt the changes ripple through every aspect of his existence. His strength had risen to a new height, and his soul felt deeper and more stable.
More importantly, when Cain focused inward—toward his True Name—he immediately detected a drastic improvement.
Although the realization of universal unification had made the Crimson World’s war far more important to him, Cain had not forgotten the threat awaiting him back home.
The World of the Root was growing stronger by the second. If he was going to face it, his Ego Eternal Path of Power needed to evolve further, and the advancement of his True Name marked a massive step forward in that direction.
Thanks to his overwhelming foundation, Cain required less than half an hour for his energy to fully stabilize. When it did, he rose from his position beside the river and turned his gaze toward the distance.
The evolution to the Alpha-Omega Overgod rank had not only enhanced his battle strength, but also greatly amplified the power of his abilities, including the Power of Chaos and the Flow. His perception rose exponentially, allowing him to sense fluctuations in the world with terrifying clarity.
Immediately, a sharp and cold light appeared in Cain’s eyes.
He glanced to his left—and vanished.
His movement was instantaneous, executed at shocking speed, yet it produced no sound at all. No ripple of energy, no disturbance in the air. He became nothing more than a silent shadow passing through the world.
Less than thirty minutes later, Cain came to a stop behind a cluster of trees. His presence was perfectly concealed as he gazed at two warriors standing in the open.
They were members of the Freedom Path.
One of them was a heavily armored warrior clad in dark, layered armor with sharp, angular plates. A hood obscured most of his head, and his face lacked eyes or a nose. The only visible feature was an unsettling grin, granting him an unmistakably inhuman presence.
The other warrior also wore armor, but his covered every inch of his body and face. Glowing red orbs were embedded across his chest plates, each one radiating massive energy and revealing a powerful internal energy flow.
“Zanko… and Hanzo,” Cain murmured silently.
He immediately recognized the duo from Urin’s memories. They were powerful Neo-Angels who had reached the Middle Alpha-Omega Overgod Stage.
In the past, Cain would have avoided such a battle at all costs. Even a single Middle Alpha-Omega Overgod would have pushed him beyond his limits. But things had changed.
Cain took a deep breath.
His aura condensed completely inside his body. Scarlet flames fused with pure destructive essence, leaving behind not even the faintest ripple that could be detected. When he could compress his power no further, Cain made his move.
He flashed forward.
Chaos Wings manifested on his back as bone spikes erupted from his elbows and knees. Zanko and Hanzo’s senses screamed in alarm as they felt the sudden burst of energy, but it was already too late.
Before either of them could react, Cain appeared between them.
He drove his sword into the ground and unleashed every ounce of power he had gathered.
What manifested next was a blazing, dark-scarlet sword of flames that erupted upward from the earth. It engulfed everything around it, consuming the battlefield in destructive fire. The heat alone ignited the air, but it was the sheer destructive energy that truly made the earth and sky tremble.
Two figures burst from the flames in the next instant.
The Neo-Angels flared their plasma wings as they triggered Salvation Incarnation, but even then, their bodies were covered in burning wounds and scarlet flames. Zanko and Hanzo glanced at one another, desperately trying to form a plan.
They were too slow.
Cain had already lunged into the fray.
His first target was Zanko, the bulkier of the two Neo-Angels. Cain’s sword flared with power and destruction as he slashed forward, the blade bursting with dark-scarlet flames.
Zanko felt the immense killing power behind the strike. The burning flames clung to his flesh, devouring his vitality, yet they failed to diminish his fighting strength. He clenched his hands and generated an overwhelming pressure as he struck toward Cain’s figure, releasing a devastating shockwave.
Unfortunately for the Neo-Angel, the shockwave struck nothing but an afterimage—one that still carried lethal intent.
In the next instant, Cain was already above him.
He descended like a final judgment.
His sword, wrapped in dark-scarlet flames, claimed everything it touched. Zanko reacted instantly, raising his arm and twisting the sky itself, collapsing it inward to form a shield.
Cain’s Imperium Blade shattered the collapsing sky without hesitation, sundering everything in its path. The blade cut cleanly through flesh, sending trails of blood spraying in all directions before engulfing the Neo-Angel’s figure in flames.
A moment later, Zanko was sent crashing into the ground like a comet.
