Chapter 225: After the Storm (M)
The golden dragon did not hold back.

The moment Riley’s climax struck and his body arched off the desk, Kael’s entire restraint snapped like a bowstring pulled too tight for too long.

His thrusts turned heavier, the rhythm breaking into something raw and primal.

And the mortal?

He could feel every pulse, every twitch, every furious drag of Kael’s thick length between his thighs.

The pressure climbed sharply as Kael’s breath hitched. His hips drove forward with a sudden, sharp force that pinned Riley to the desk.

A low, guttural sound tore from the dragon’s throat.

Then Kael came.

His whole body jerked once, hard, as though the pleasure was surging its way out of him.

Heat spilled in thick ropes across the human’s already slick skin, the force so strong that Riley felt it splash across his stomach, up his chest, even against his chin.

“!!!”

“Hhn—!”

A strangled yelp escaped the dazed mortal’s mouth as Kael’s long fingers dug into the backs of his thighs.

Maybe it was the desire to be even closer, but the dragon kept on pressing forward as he rode out the last pulses because only by burying the feeling into both of them would he feel satisfied.

Kael’s breath came out in heavy waves. His hips slowed, then finally stilled, the last few spurts dripping warmly down Riley’s reddened inner thighs and over his spent shaft.

Only then did the dragon lift himself back, drawing his hands slowly from those slender legs.

The movement made Riley shiver. Perhaps it was the sudden shift in blood flow, though, if he were being honest, it was probably due to the view.

Kael rose to his full height.

For a moment, Riley could barely breathe at the sight of him. Kael’s chest rose and fell. His golden hair was wild, tousled from the heat of it all, strands sticking slightly to his temple. Then, with a slow and almost arrogant grace, Kael lifted a hand and brushed it back over his head, pushing the golden waves away from his face.

A hot, commanding stance. Powerful. Male. Every line of him screamed dominance and hunger even in the aftermath.

And yet he was Riley’s now.

And that same golden guy just did all of that with him moments ago.

It was unbelievable.

And yet he was real, because the same man just looked down to inspect him.

Riley thought he probably looked like a mess, but if he knew what Kael was thinking, he wouldn’t have thought of such a thing.

The dragon didn’t have to look far because by simply looking down, he could see his irresistible mortal clearly.

Riley, sprawled on the desk, thighs loose and trembling, chest flushed, stomach streaked with both their releases. His hair was messy. His lips were parted. His whole body looked like it had been taken apart and slowly put back together by Kael’s hands alone.

It was risqué. Stunning. Fragile.

The dragon’s gaze darkened, softening and sharpening all at once.

This was a sight he wanted etched into his immortal memory—Riley, flustered and undone, marked everywhere Kael had touched him. The human practically glowed with sensitivity, skin flushed and warm, breath unsteady. His thighs still bore the imprint of Kael’s hands, and his body was smeared with their mingled pleasure.

He was beautiful. And definitely taken.

Kael’s jaw tightened as he took it in. A deep, almost reverent hunger rippled through him, balanced only by something calmer, something marginally sated. The sight both soothed and unhinged him.

And what a fragile balance that was.

If the dragon had his way, he would have pulled Riley back in and made him release again. And again. And again.

And after what they had just done, Kael knew he could.

He could definitely get him to release for him over and over.

But the fragile mortal knew that too.

Which was exactly why the poor aide was staring up at him like he was both impressed and horrified.

Riley swallowed hard, chest still rising and falling too fast. Nothing about what he had just experienced felt calming. Not when his nerves were still buzzing, and every twitch of his spent shaft made him want to curl into a ball and pray.

Especially because the realization was hitting him harder (literally) now that he had a moment to think.

Kael could absolutely go again.

The man was standing there, member still half-hard, chest heaving, eyes slowly roaming him like he was still deciding whether the next round should start immediately.

No. Not today.

Not if Riley wanted to live long enough to consult with the guardians. Because wouldn’t it be a shame if he didn’t even get to uncover if he was any percentage something else? Or if he never got to discover the secrets of that dragon fluid?

Riley felt that if he died without at least discovering those, he’d end up a vengeful ghost.

And so he needed to stop this before Kael’s face shifted into something that looked less like afterglow and more like the start of another round.

And it was coming.

The golden dragon was already inching closer, gaze hot and hungry, lips just barely parted like he was about to say something that would end in Riley’s death by pleasure.

No. No, absolutely not.

Riley panicked.

He blurted the first thing his scrambled brain could produce.

“Kael. Kiss me.”

__

Surprisingly, or maybe unsurprisingly, Kael—who had been staring directly at him with that look that promised anything but mercy—obeyed instantly.

He leaned down, one hand braced by the mortal’s head, the other sliding warm and steady along Riley’s waist as his lips descended.

But before he actually kissed him, Kael muttered, “Are you trying to escape?”

Riley fluttered his eyes, basically so spent and jelly-like that it was the only thing he could do.

“No. But I’m trying to survive.”

“Survive?” Kael’s face hovered over Riley’s so he could see those dilated green eyes.

“Yes. Survive. If I survive today, then maybe we can do something next time. Also, it’s important to teach you this lesson while I’m still awake.” Riley continued, weakly nuzzling his nose against Kael’s by simply turning his face.

“Huh? Another lesson?”

“Yeah, a bit different this time.”

The golden dragon lord raised an eyebrow in curiosity, and the mortal smiled and took that as a sign to continue.

“It’s cuddling and aftercare.”

The dragon found it novel. And yet when Riley kissed him softly and wrapped those slender arms around him, Kael figured he would follow.

And follow he did.
