Chapter 471: Lola’s Atlas
Normally, Lola would be panting and falling asleep right after countless rounds of passion. But tonight, she simply… couldn’t fall asleep.

Lying on the bed with barely a sheet over her bare body, she lifted her hand in front of her. Her lips stretched softly as the faint light slipping through the slightly open curtain fell on her fingers. The ring looked rather simple, carved with tiny markings she hadn’t fully examined yet. But in her eyes, it was one of the most beautiful things she owned. Perhaps the most valuable of all.

Beside her lay Atlas, his arm stretched under her head like a pillow. For a quiet moment, he studied her side profile. Her lips curled, showing her teeth, and her eyes shimmered brighter than the ring itself.

“Do you like it?” he asked after a while.

Lola glanced at him, then giggled, rolling onto her side. She draped her leg over his body, the sheet rustling with her movement.

“I love it,” she giggled. “I think it’s very pretty.”

It didn’t look as fancy as one would expect from someone of his standing. But knowing him, this was exactly the sort of ring she expected.

“Why do you like it?” he asked, lifting her hand to admire the ring he had customized for her. “Its appearance was my only problem.”

“Why would you say that?”

“Because I told multiple jewelers to make it more appealing. But they said they couldn’t do what I wanted unless I gave up its other functions.”

“It is appealing,” she laughed quietly, looking at the ring. “I don’t see any problem with it.”

Her smile stiffened slightly as her brows furrowed. “Function?”

“Mhm.” He hummed, reaching for the ring. But before he could take it off, Lola made a fist. When he looked at her, her expression twisted—almost defensively, like he was trying to steal it from her.

“I’ll show you,” he said mildly. “Why would I steal it?”

“It’s mine,” she pouted. “Give it back immediately.”

“…” Atlas almost laughed. Her overprotectiveness warmed his heart more than he expected. It reassured him, too.

Slowly and carefully, he slid the ring off her finger, holding it between his thumb and index finger.

“This ring is something I designed,” he began, his voice calm and low. He turned the ring between his fingers, examining every edge.

“You designed it?”

He shot her a side-eye. “Mhm. I didn’t want just another ring anyone could buy.”

Surprise washed over her face. Her gaze returned to the ring, and her appreciation deepened immediately. He wasn’t a designer or a jeweler, yet he took the time to create the ring she would wear forever. Of all the jewelry she could ever own, this automatically became priceless—because it came from him, from his thought, his intention, his effort.

But that wasn’t all.

A breathy chuckle escaped him as he twisted the ring. “The problem I had with this ring was its appearance. Many jewelers sent me catalogs. Rings far more pleasing to the eye.”

Lola turned to him, watching his profile closely.

“Compared to those, this lacked charm at first glance,” he continued, slowly meeting her eyes. “But to make it more appealing, I would’ve had to sacrifice the vow I sealed inside it.”

“A vow…” she echoed under her breath.

Atlas pressed on the ring. With a faint click, Lola’s attention snapped toward it. The ring shifted, unfolding into a tiny orb.

Lines appeared across the straps that formed its spherical shape. The carvings spread and aligned, becoming clearer to read. Some looked like coordinates. Some like coded text. But one stood out unmistakably:

[Lola’s Atlas.]

Her pupils dilated. She whipped her head toward him. “This is…?”

“Everything,” he said softly. His gaze flicked to the orb before returning to her. “An atlas of everything I have. It’s all in here.”

Everything in his name. Every secret. Every resource. Every vault of power tied to him—and to the entire Zorken family, the secret society, and its Order. Encoded. Compressed. Hidden in plain sight.

It was his whole universe, and he had placed it in the palm of her hand.

Hence, the need for multiple jewelers to engrave each letter with precision, scattered in random sequences to maintain confidentiality.

Lola’s heart swelled, pounding so hard against her ribs it hurt. She barely blinked, staring at him with utter disbelief and wonder. When she regained enough strength to look back at the orb, she watched him press it together again.

Like magic, the thin straps folded inward until it was a ring once more. Its body wasn’t thick—slim, elegant. Yet she now knew those thin metals hid layers thinner still, but reinforced to be durable beyond normal metal.

“If you ever need something—anything,” he said, sliding the ring back onto her finger with care, “you’ll find it here. You won’t need anyone’s permission to command my men, as long as you give them the code.”

His eyelashes lowered as he looked at her. “Use it however you wish.”

“…” Lola bit her trembling lower lip.

He wasn’t a sentimental man, not outwardly. Knowing he designed the ring already made it special. But this? The vow. The code. The meaning. Everything he entrusted to her…

She was moved beyond words.

Tears gathered in the corners of her eyes, blurring her vision. His brows instantly knitted.

“Why?” he asked, concerned, propping himself up on his elbow to get a better look. He cupped her cheek, his eyes filled with worry and the beginnings of panic. “Did I hurt you somewhere?”

Were their rounds of passion sinking in late? He hadn’t pulled out when he climaxed, filling her with the same intensity with each. He did vow hours ago not to make her cry again. But here she was, tears falling anyway.

But Lola shook her head, lips pressed together.

Then she lunged forward and wrapped her arms tightly around him. His brows rose as his hand instinctively settled on her bare back.

“I’m not—” her voice cracked. She cleared her throat, forcing the words out. “I’m not… hurt. I’m just… really… really happy to be loved.”

Her tears spilled freely now, her body trembling against his. Her heart felt like it was going to burst. If it were possible, she wanted to crawl inside his chest and hide there. Grotesque, yes—but honest.

“I love you,” she breathed out, loosening her hold to look at him. “I… love you.”

His eyes softened. He lowered his head until his forehead rested against hers. His lips brushed hers, his breath grazing her upper lip. And under his breath, before claiming her lips once more, he whispered,

“My heart feels the same.”
