Chapter 468: Mr. And Mrs. Atlas Bennet
As the cheers and whistles erupted in the venue, one person looked far more unsettled than happy—the wedding facilitator. He stood stiffly at the altar, as though he had been invited solely to watch everything unfold right in front of him.
“…” The wedding facilitator fidgeted with his fingers, darting his eyes between Lola and Atlas, who were kissing directly in front of him.
The kiss was sweet, mutual, and very deserved. But still… he was supposed to marry them, not stand here while they married themselves!
“Ahem!” he cleared his throat, flinching when Atlas’s brow arched despite still pressing his lips against Lola.
Lola’s brows lifted, and she reluctantly pulled away. She turned her head, blinking at the wedding facilitator.
“Uh…” She leaned closer to Atlas and whispered, “He is?”
“The wedding facilitator.”
Her brows tightened. She glanced between Atlas and the poor man. “Really? He’s been here all this time?”
“Yes,” the wedding pastor replied softly, lowering his head as if he might cry from being ignored since the ceremony began.
“We don’t need him now,” Atlas turned back to Lola. “Hungry?”
Lola pondered, arms still around his shoulders while his circled her waist. “Maybe—actually, I am.”
“Okay—”
“Ahem!” The pastor finally forced himself to intervene before the bride and groom could leave to grab dinner. “Mr. and Mrs. Bennet, I know you are happy that you are married, but I still have to pronounce your wedding.”
“Ah.” Lola and Atlas nodded in understanding.
“Then do it,” Atlas said plainly.
“But—” the pastor almost choked, but pushed through. “I can’t do that yet.”
The couple tilted their heads, clearly wanting to finish this wedding and enjoy the night.
The pastor exhaled deeply, forcing a smile. “You have to at least exchange rings.”
“Ah.” Lola’s mouth formed an O. She completely forgot that part.
Atlas frowned. “Not good,” he muttered, facing her again. But the next words weren’t for Lola. “Kids, the rings.”
“Okay~!” Chacha and Second skipped toward him, with Second holding a small pillow-topped box. “Here are your rings~!”
“Thank you.” Atlas took the box, opened it, and looked at Lola. “Hand.”
Lola chuckled softly and extended her hand. She watched lovingly as he placed the ring on her finger. They had already made their promise with a kiss—this was just formality.
“It fits,” she said, smiling and raising her hand to admire it.
“Of course it fits,” he shrugged. “I made sure it would.”
“Daddy kept measuring your finger whenever you were sleeping, Mommy~!” Chacha chirped, exposing her father. “And that’s how he checks your weight too~”
“Pfft—” Lola stifled a laugh as Atlas shot Chacha a brief frown for her big mouth.
Second tugged Lola’s dress. When she and Atlas looked at him, he blinked sweetly.
“Mommy, it’s your turn.”
He held out the box meant for Lola to give Atlas. But just as Lola picked it up, she froze and turned to Atlas.
“Wait a second,” she said, giving the box back.
Everyone frowned in confusion. Even Atlas.
Then, Lola slid her hand into the hidden pocket of her skirt. When she pulled it out, she held a small box—the same size as the ring box.
“What is that?” Penny murmured. “Did she not like the rings?”
“First Brother had those customized for months,” Finn whispered to Nina. “Is there a problem? He even has to use intimidation to get them done.”
The guests exchanged whispers, having absolutely no idea what Lola was thinking. She had already accepted the ring and sealed their promise of forever, so why take out another box?
Until…
“I was planning to propose tonight,” Lola announced with a grin, silencing the entire venue. “Turns out the party I walked into was my wedding.”
She chuckled again before locking eyes with Atlas. “You kept asking me to marry you in different forms. And when I finally became ready… you never asked again. So I figured I should propose.”
Everyone: “???”
Atlas: “…”
The twins: “Mommy, Daddy didn’t ask again because he was preparing a grand proposal~! The wedding came too soon!”
Lola nodded at them and gently reached for Atlas’s hand. She slipped the ring she brought onto his finger, lifting her eyes to meet his.
“Since we’re already married…” she whispered with a smile. “I won’t ask you to marry me. Instead, let’s stay married for all eternity, and in every lifetime we have, Atlas.”
“…” Atlas studied her quietly, then looked down at the ring she gave him. After a moment, he raised his hand, a quiet laugh escaping him. “I like this better.”
“Of course you do,” she teased. “It’s from me.”
His subtle smile deepened into a smirk as he pulled her waist closer. But before they could get carried away, they turned toward the pastor, who stared at them blankly, as if wondering how this couple kept reinventing wedding protocol every two minutes.
How could two people create so many new rules?!
But in the end, the pastor exhaled a defeated chuckle and shook his head. Straightening up, he looked between them and nodded.
“Doesn’t matter,” he whispered to himself. “Because I know for sure… this marriage will last longer than forever.”
He cleared his throat and began, “Lola Young, Atlas Bennet—today, we witnessed two hearts unite. From this day onward, the two of you will be one in the eyes of the law and in the eyes of heaven.”
He smiled warmly. “May your union be filled with nothing but happiness, love, and a partnership that overcomes every hurdle. I am honored to witness this union. And with that honor…” He paused, then declared, “I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride.”
Again, cheers and whistles erupted as the music in the background livened up.
Lola fluttered her eyelashes at Atlas. He shrugged as if to say, well, here we go again. For the second time that day, he wrapped his arms around her and leaned down to kiss her.
Lola welcomed him happily, grinning into the kiss as the noise around them softened.
“Mommy~! Daddy~!” The twins clapped loudly as their parents finally pulled apart.
Lola shot Atlas a knowing look. He nodded without words and extended both hands toward the twins. They giggled, running straight into their parents’ arms.
He lifted both children effortlessly—one in each arm—as he and Lola, now officially and undeniably the Bennet couple, faced their guests together.
This time, it was final.
Lola had officially become Mrs. Atlas Bennet. And she would forever hold his universe.
