Chapter 425: Stay Out Of Her Life
When Jasmine stepped inside Doctor Tyler’s office, she paused at the sight before her. The man was in the middle of cleaning up. Boxes filled with his belongings were stacked neatly in the corner. He stood by his desk, calmly packing away the last of his things.

“Before you say anything,” Jasmine spoke first, holding her chin high, “I’m just here to hear how far your lie goes.”

Without waiting for an invitation, she walked in and made herself comfortable on the couch, crossing her legs as she scanned the room. Her eyes trailed over the books and papers on the coffee table before snapping toward him again.

“Didn’t you say I should come here if I wanted to find out the truth?” Her tone was laced with mockery as she emphasized the last word. “Well? Are you just going to stand there?”

Doctor Tyler gave her a short smile and checked his wristwatch. But before he could reply, a knock came from the door. Both of them turned just as it opened, revealing a man Jasmine did not expect to see.

Atlas.

Her brows furrowed deeply, and she jumped to her feet in disbelief.

“What’s the meaning of this?” she demanded, her sharp glare shifting from Atlas to the doctor. “Don’t tell me you’re planning to trap me here?”

“A trap is quite an exaggeration,” Atlas replied coolly. His voice carried a cold, unforgiving weight that filled the room. He walked in with unhurried confidence and took a seat in the armchair opposite her. Placing a folder on the table, he leaned back, his gaze steady and cutting.

“If I wanted to trap you, Jasmine Young,” he said evenly, “it would’ve been very easy.” Each word carried a deliberate edge, heavy with meaning. “Sit down.”

Jasmine swallowed hard, her eyes darting between Doctor Tyler and Atlas. Of all people, Atlas was the last person she wanted to see and the last she expected to.

“What do you want to talk about?” she asked finally, forcing herself to sit. “You already ruined everything for us. Or should I say Lola did? You enabled her. So what else do you want from our family after taking everything away?”

“I wouldn’t say everything,” he murmured, his tone low. “You’re still alive.”

Her breath caught. “What?”

Atlas gestured toward the folder on the table, his eyes never leaving hers.

“You wanted the truth,” he said. “I’m giving it to you. Inside that folder is a paternity test between Lola, Melissa, Lawrence Young, and Mike.”

Jasmine’s shoulders stiffened, her hands trembling in her lap. Her eyes flicked to the folder, hesitation flickering through her expression.

“Didn’t you say you wanted to know the truth?” Atlas pressed.

“How would I know this isn’t forged?” she shot back quickly, shifting her glare between him and the doctor. “You could be doing this just to throw me off and—”

“And what?” Atlas cut her off sharply, tilting his head slightly. “And what, Madam Young? What would I possibly gain by giving you a falsified document that states, apparently… you’re my mother-in-law?”

Her entire body froze as the color drained from her face.

“How could a falsified document like this benefit me in any way?” Atlas continued, his voice calm but his aura suffocating. The air itself seemed to grow heavy just with a moment of silence.

Jasmine’s lips parted, but no sound came out. Her trembling hand reached for the folder but hovered over it for a moment, reluctant to open it. She glanced up at them, her voice breaking.

“Why are you doing this?”

Atlas remained unmoved. “Because of all people, you deserve the truth, Jasmine Young.” His words were measured, but the restraint in his tone made it clear—talking to her was exhausting.

A faint glint flickered in his eyes. “I’m delivering it to you on a silver platter.”

Her heart twisted painfully. Just listening to his words filled her chest with bitterness and dread. Her vision blurred as tears gathered in her eyes. She lowered her head, tears spilling onto the folder before she even opened it.

She didn’t need to see what was inside. Deep down, she already knew. But still… she opened it, needing confirmation—needing the final blow.

The first page bore the name of the testing company and the first set of results.

Lola and Lawrence Young — NEGATIVE.

A shallow gasp escaped her lips as a tear slid down her cheek.

“Keep going,” Doctor Tyler said softly, breaking his silence. Jasmine looked up at him with wide, trembling eyes.

“Keep reading, Jasmine Young.”

Her hands shook as she turned the next page.

Melissa and Mike — NEGATIVE.

“No…” she breathed shakily, flipping to the next.

Lawrence and Melissa — MATCH.

Her pulse quickened. She turned another page.

Lola and Mike — MATCH.

Tears pooled in her eyes as every word on the paper seemed to blur together.

But there was one last page.

Atlas had ordered another test just a day before. The results had arrived this morning. He hadn’t even looked at them himself. Letting her see them first was, in his words, a “gift.”

Jasmine Young and Lola Young.

Her fingers trembled violently as her heart pounded against her ribs. Every fiber of her being screamed not to look, and yet, she couldn’t stop her eyes from falling on the result.

99.9999% POSITIVE.

A shaky breath escaped her as the paper crumpled under her tightening grip. Tears streamed down her face, slow at first, then uncontrollable. But no sob escaped her—not yet.

Instead, she gasped quietly, her chest heaving as her mind struggled to catch up with what her heart already knew.

“No… no…” she whispered, shaking her head as if denial could rewrite reality. “My… my baby…”

Across from her, Atlas rose slowly, his expression unreadable. He stood there for a long moment, watching the woman who had destroyed so much finally unravel before his eyes. Then he spoke, his tone colder than ever.

“Jasmine Young,” he said, “if you truly want to make amends with your daughter, turn yourself in for every crime you’ve committed. You and that man named Mike.”

He paused. “And stay out of her life.”

Jasmine froze, her eyes wide as she looked up at him through her tears.

Atlas stared back, silent and unflinching, before finally turning to leave.

Doctor Tyler followed, but stopped just before the door.

“Jasmine Young,” he said quietly. Unlike Atlas, there was something softer—sadder—in his tone. “You shouldn’t have underestimated Loren. She may have sacrificed being a mother to her own daughter, but your daughter… she will only ever recognize one mother.”

He swallowed hard, meeting Jasmine’s hollow gaze. “And that will always be her.”

“Nothing you do now can make Lola forget what you’ve done,” he added, his voice barely above a whisper. “And you deserve to carry that for the rest of your life.”
