98: Test(II) information 98: Test(II) information Chapter 98 As soon as our group entered the classroom, all attention turned towards us.

This time not only because I was accompanied by three beauties but also because of our very long absence which must have created a lot of questions for everyone here.

No one asked though because Desmond was already in the class.

“If you’re here, then sit down.” He curtly spoke and got back to checking some papers.

We all sat down.

Laura’s seat was in the front row of the class so she took her seat there.

“Now that everyone is here, I will explain the test you will be taking for the span of the next three days.” Desmond stood up and began the explanation regarding the test of today.

“The test region is divided into two regions.

Similarly, the class is also divided equally into two teams.

You can see your team your team composition on the board.” As soon as he finished speaking, our names magically appeared on the class board.

Me, Zefton, Layla, and Alicia were in the same group while Laura and Rose were in group B along with the rest of the main cast.

The composition didn’t seem fair to me if I had to say after all in the other team, there were five apostle candidates and even Asmara who was fairly talented.

Well, I guess they can’t have all the current rankers in one group.

The team composition may not only have been focused on power terms but the ranking of the academy and me and Alicia were among the top three rankers.

The second one was Rose.

“Now that we have team members out of the way, we have two leaders from both teams.

From team A we have Layla Evergreen who will be the leader and from group B, we have Eric Tudor.” He announced the group leaders as well.

Since I wasn’t present for the leader discussion, they must have chosen the next capable one.

I didn’t want to be the leader in the first place.

The most points one can obtain in this test was a hundred.

The leaders had a head start of ten points which wasn’t that difficult to cover.

Besides, most of the points were for how much one had contributed to the team so doing that was probably not easy in the first place since everyone would be taking benefits from the one who gave the proposition.

In simpler words, this is a team-based test.

The more one was useful to his teammates, the better the points gained.

It will be a three-day trip and unlike the first one, the sensations would be more realistic which also means that we will have to hunt, sleep, and find a place to make camp otherwise, we won’t survive there.

This isn’t a survival test like other novels, there are dangers here as well and the more teammates a team loses, the more points that team would also lose collectively.

The leader will lose two points for each life loss and the other teammates will lose one point each.

Still, there was an advantage of being the leader.

In the case of an attack, one must listen to the leader unless it is absolutely unreasonable.

Otherwise, one would risk losing points.

This was also something I was worried about.

Laura was on Eric’s team and although Laura wasn’t in this class in the novel and in doing so not in this test, still Laura was a prime target for Eric to get rid of.

I was worried that Eric might ask her something unreasonable to do.

Although I had asked Rose to look after her since Rose was the strongest in the whole class and in that team no one could order her around, if she didn’t listen to the team leader, her points would lessen so there was another point to be worried about.

But who was I?

I would be an idiot if I hadn’t prepared for it beforehand.

[Bag of infinity] [Rank: C+ A small pouch with a 100 cm3 space inside for storage purposes.

It cannot hold living things.

Price: 100,000] For a small inventory, it was much pricey so I bought three of them for each of the girls.

I filled it with all kinds of foods, various tools, weapons, and a portable toilet because that is what would be needed the most in this test.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t find a portable bathroom for bathing purposes but I’m sure they can live without that.

Doing so, they don’t need to rely on the team leader so if that douchebag tries to bully Laura for some reason, she would have everything of her own.

Of course, there was a down factor to that as well.

“If that is done, I will now introduce you to the point system.” Desmond continued after everyone made sure they were in the team they applied to.

“There will be a total of three attacks on each camp.

Each attack amounts to sixty points.

You defend yourself against the attacks, everyone gets sixty points.

You will lose points by the aforementioned ways so figure the loss on your own.

After that comes the contribution to the camp.

The one who makes the camp better receives the points proportional to that up to twenty points.” “And then, each region has five overlords.

You can either try hunting that on your own or with a team, doesn’t matter.

The boss is worth fifty points alone.

If the camp hunts it in a team, you get two points each.

Your contribution will be measured.

If you did nothing but stand aside, then your points will be taken and given to someone who contributed the most.

“Lastly, if you decide to hunt the overlord alone, that will get you twenty points each, or if you make a team of your own separate from the main team, then the points will again be divided according to your contribution.

The separate team will also receive a maximum of twenty points.

Fifty points are only in the case a whole team hunts.” “Any questions?” Ending the detailed and lengthy explanation which left no points for a question, Desmond still asked just to be sure and I had a question so it was good for me.

“You said that each overlord is worth twenty points for a single person while for a team it is twenty-five.

What would happen if someone hunts two of them, then defends the sieges and makes contributions to the camp?

That would amount to 120 points.

Can someone gain points more than a hundred?” I also asked a lengthy a*s question which he seems to have expected as he had already a reply prepared.

“Yes, a student can gain more than one hundred points but it will still be considered an SS grade.

Of course, if you lose your points, they would be taken from the maximum points you possess so if someone with more than a hundred points loses points, the grade would still be SS as long as they can keep their points above the specific grade marks.” He gave a detailed reply which cleared all of my confusion.

In other words, anything above a hundred were insurance marks.

Even if I lose points because of various reasons, as long as I could keep my points above a hundred, I would get an SS grade.

By the way, the maximum points belonged to team B in the novel which Eric was in and Eric’s grand total was 83 which was an A grade.

The rest of the main cast managed to remain above seventy while the rest of the class managed to remain above fifty.

In other words, no one failed in this test.

“Any more questions?” Desmond asked again, glancing at me given I’m the one who asks the most.

“Yes.” I replied and asked, “What happens if one ends up killing a teammate?” He can’t expect that there won’t be any dispute among these young bloods and given their ages, no doubt they are hot-headed so it might come to a brawl to the end.

“If it is self-defense, then there is no penalty however, if you are the one to start a dispute and come to an end with a team member’s death, then you lose all your points up to that point and have to earn new ones.” He replied to my inquiry.

I nodded and compiled detailed information about this test in my head.

This test was too complicated.

For one thing, I would have to contribute to the team and camp somehow and the second thing is that although I can move alone if I am not in the camp during the siege of monsters, I will end up losing points.

In simpler words.

This test is a trap.

You don’t have to move with your team but you will also have to move with them anyway because of the penalties cast, after all, how many of these guys can contend against a C+ rank monster on their own?

The only way for them to gain points is through camp contribution and defense.

“If there are no more questions, then you have an hour to prepare.

After that, you will have to assemble at the artifact room number four for the test.

Outside objects are allowed so you have an hour to get what you need.” Desmond said before leaving the class with Michelle.

I was also about to strategize with the girls before Layla walked up to me and said, “Can you give me some time?” I nodded and turned to Rose, “Go with Laura and Alicia to the artifact room and I will meet you there.” Rose nodded with a reply, “Yes, Your Highness,” and left for the other two who were giving me a stink eye as if warning me not to get any ideas regarding Layla.

I simply smiled and stood up and asked, “So, what do you need?” “I was hoping we could come up with a good strategy for this test.” She replied with a concerned smile.

I guess she doesn’t have a strategy prepared.

A quality of a bad leader.

But I kept my views to myself.

I had nothing against Layla.

In fact, it could be said that we had a harmonious relationship so there is no harm in gaining an ally who is also an apostle.

“Come with me to the artifact room.

I will tell everyone what to do at once.” I said and she nodded before turning to Zefton and said, “Bring all of the teammates to the artifact room in a little while.

I will prepare a strategy before that.” Zefton didn’t like the idea of Layla being together with me but he said nothing in return and just nodded to Layla.

“Talk about excessive,” I said as we were going through the hallway to the artifact room.

“Ugh… Don’t remind me.

I feel like he intimidates everyone I talk to.” She replied with distaste clearly written on her face.

“Well, I would guess he isn’t too bad,” I suggested.

“How so?” She asked with an expression that said, ‘Are you serious?’ “Well, you see, a guy like him may be a brute, but he’s an honest brute.

You see when it comes to a guy like me, I’m cunning.

I weigh the pros and cons before doing anything.

Even love.

You won’t be able to tell what I am thinking underneath but when it comes to that guy, you will know exactly how he is feeling.

Whether he’s jealous, lying, or being honest, you will know.

And sometimes, that quality is enough in a guy to ignore his bad ones.” I said.

I don’t usually play Cupid but they are going to end up together anyway.

And besides, I had nothing against Zefton.

Sure he was a little mean but that was only because of my closeness to Layla.

Layla didn’t dismiss what I said but replied with her own point, “It’s not like I don’t know that, it’s just…” She didn’t complete her sentence as she didn’t know how to.

“Look, you had a bad experience.

Understandable.

But that one bad experience shouldn’t be a break in your entire life.

Think about that.” I ended my advice as we both entered the artifact room where three jealous girls of my own were waiting.
