95: Some training 95: Some training Chapter 95 “You know, the reason I came so late is because I come bearing a gift.

Unfortunately, due to the nature of the said gift, it can only delivered at night.” I spoke as I waved my hand at the shadows.

The shadows around me trembled and a massive chuck of MP was taken.

Shadow verse takes a tremendous amount of MP but its potential is greater than any other skill.

A box emerged from the shadows that was at least six feet tall.

Auriella cautiously glanced at me, wondering what was happening.

I’m assuming she hadn’t seen anything like this before.

I didn’t say anything and simply stood up and put my hands on the opening lid of the box, “Now I was asked to deliver justice for your sister.

But the thing is, I’m not too strong at justice.

But what I am strong at is revenge.” I finished as I opened the lid of the box and a bloodied Jack appeared in our view.

I had made sure to bind him so he doesn’t do anything.

His mana vein was also interrupted with the help of Allison so he wasn’t a threat anymore.

“You can do what you want to him.

Punish him however you want.

Then, when you are curious, come find me.” I said and turned to leave while leaving a stunned Auriella behind me.

===== I left the Ferrahfowler estate and headed straight to my personal training room.

I had to meet the first elder along the way but he would also be heading there to meet Alicia anyway so I will meet him there.

[MP 121840] The biggest drawback of ‘Shadow Verse’.

Potentially, this skill is the greatest skill I have since it gives me all control to all types of shadows.

Of course, at its current level, I can only control my own.

The potential of this skill is greater than any other skill that I currently possess and if nurtured to its final state, it can even beat my authorities.

However, the MP consumption was no joke.

I had to consume three MP recovery potions to maintain the shadow in which I was keeping Jack.

This was the reason why it was so slow to level up.

I can easily level up magic canon two times while I won’t be able to level this one up by even one.

While I was analyzing all this, I reached the training building and headed for my own training room.

Just as I was about to open the door, the door opened by itself and the first elder emerged from it.

“Let us go somewhere else for our talk.” He curtly spoke while I simply nodded and we both came outside the building.

“Are you sure about this?

I couldn’t get anything from the assassins.” He began just as we both made it out of the building.

“Of course you didn’t.

why would a smart man send hired people who would know anything.” The assassins Rickston sent were a long shot.

The chances of them knowing anything were very slim which was why I took a shot.

“And what about the other one?” He asked, referring to Jack.

“What about him?” I asked in return.

He rephrased his question by asking, “Can the Ferrahfowler house be trusted?” If the Ferrahfowler house tells the academy what we did, it would be detrimental to us.

We kidnapped Jack from the academy custody and made it look like his father rescued him.

However, Auriella knows it was us and if she chooses to tell the academy the truth, the academy will blame the empire and extort something of value.

“You don’t have to worry about that,” I replied.

I was sure there wouldn’t be any trouble because the girl I met yesterday and today, was looking for revenge, not justice.

When revenge has arrived on her doorstep, she would never turn it away.

That was just human nature.

“I see.” He replied and then asked, “And what about the assets of the Rodor family?” “I’m sure his lordships are more wiser than me in that regard,” I replied to which he nodded.

I had no interest in the Rodor family estate.

Although they must have a massive amount of money, it is in the eyes of the empire.

If that money goes missing, questions would be raised.

That money would bring me a lot more trouble than it is worth so there was nothing to gain from there.

Letting the empire have it would be much more easier.

I would even be rewarded that way.

“Anyway, Is that all you wanted?” I asked seeing as he wasn’t leaving even after all matters were covered.

He stared at me for a while before he said, “The elven council has contacted us.

They want to set up a meeting with you.” I didn’t need to be told what they wanted.

The potions I obtained from the laboratory of Hephaestus.

After all, the elven queen doesn’t have long to live and her successor isn’t up to age yet to take charge.

Not to mention that if she dies, the elven race would plunge into chaos since she is the only SSS rank they have.

The rest of the elves are at most SS-.

No matter how strong of an alliance they are right now, once the queen dies, the elves lose a major power source and would be left to be preyed on.

“Tell them I will meet them after the second test of the academy.

They better be fast though because I would have to leave for somewhere in the short vacation I get.” I replied.

He nodded and then hesitated to say something else.

“Go on,” I said.

He stopped his hesitation and said, “The empire has discovered the supplier of the potions.” From the officials that came with him last time no doubt.

He is reluctant or one could say a little ashamed because it was one of his men who leaked the news.

However, it wasn’t a big deal to me.

In fact, there was no need to rack my brain on this.

“It was bound to be sooner or later.

After all, I didn’t exactly hide my face while dealing in this business.” I replied.

Where it mattered I hid my face just like Balder but in this case, I didn’t really care.

“I see.” He replied and then said, “Then I will take my leave.

I will have to see what to do with Rodor’s estate.” Saying the last bit, he vanished from his spot.

Traveling between spaces sure is convenient.

If my space authority was fully released, I wouldn’t have a problem traveling as well.

Anyway, I turned and entered the room to see Rose still busy with her own training while Alicia was diligently practicing her mana techniques.

Seeing no harm in letting her be, I decided to focus on my own training after checking up on Laura.

===== [Shadow verse LV: 4 (311400)] An entire night of training and after about sixty MP recovery potions, I could only raise the shadow verse by this much.

Shadow verse was an overpowered skill and it could help me a lot in dangerous situations so instead of focusing on other skills, I only focused on this but the progress was frustratingly slow.

Magic canon would have leveled up to level eight by now.

And for a lot less price.

This is inefficient.

Except for proficiency, skill levels in games can be raised through rewards, special tickets, and skills points.

Unfortunately, no such system has appeared until now but it wouldn’t hurt to ask so I asked Allison about it.

[Of course, there is] I was glad by the answer provided by Allison but soon my smile disappeared when she said.

[Each skill ticket is worth 2,000,000 coins] [Levels can be increased depending on the rank of the ticket] [The highest rank skill ticket is about 30,000,000 coins which might even evolve a skill to the next stage if the skill isn’t too high in grade already] The explanation was logical and the price wasn’t illogical as well.

If it was some small time skill, then such a price was a complete scam but each and every one of my skills was greater than any other skill in existence.

If all it took to make them the greatest was some money, then it would be too unfair and overpowered in my opinion.

‘Can I get them from quests as well?’ [You can but I doubt that such a level of quest would appear at this stage] She was right.

The highest-rank enemy I have faced was just a C+ rank.

The vampire doesn’t count because he couldn’t fight back.

Anyway, the reward wasn’t proportional to the level of enemies I have faced.

‘Then what level of enemy would I have to defeat?’ [By my count, at least an SSS rank] Damn it.

Which means money was the only way to do it right now.

Deciding that I will raise shadow verse using skill tickets, now I will only focus on other skills to raise their levels and evolve them to the next stage.

The first one is the regeneration skill.

===== Leveling just skills was inefficient.

If I didn’t have enough power to back them up, then they were useless.

I needed to raise my stats too.

Seeing as the achievement system was also not very reliable, I had only two ways of increasing my stats.

Level up and Penta enhancement array.

There was the option of integrating elements into my body but seeing how low they were, that was impossible.

Penta enhancement array was recently used so I will wait a month more to go to the next step.

Leveling was the only thing left.

And for that, I had an entire dungeon for myself since no one would usually come here.

“You are here to apply for mercenary work?” The new dungeon master asked since I had gotten rid of the last one.

I applied to clear this dungeon in return for money.

After all, he has to hire a mercenary group to deal with it anyway.

Why not just pay me and get it done with?

“Yes,” I replied.

Since I was going to clear this dungeon anyway, it was better to make some money no matter how trivial along the way.

After all, every penny counts.

“You alone?” He asked again, quirking his eyebrow.

“Yes,” I replied.

“I see.” He was still skeptical but kept his doubts to himself.

He pulled out a few gold coins and said, “10,000 now.

The rest later.” The total payment was 50,000 gold coins.

This dungeon was actually a problem for Bellator City.

Not only would they earn almost nothing from it, but they would have to waste 50,000 every month to clear it out.

Taking the money, I went straight for the dungeon entrance.

The first thing I did as soon as I entered the first floor of the dungeon was to take all of my clothes off and put them in the inventory.

[Regeneration (advanced) LV: 2(12492000)] The damage dealt by the slimes on the first floor wasn’t so high.

I could sustain damage while regenerating my health at the same time.

Regeneration was the only life branch skill that hadn’t evolved.

I wanted to evolve it before today or at least level it up a lot.

Making sure of all that, I got to work and just as I stepped forward, a slime appeared in my view.

“Let’s get this over with.” ===== “And how long would we have, father?” A black-haired young man asked a similar older-looking man.

“Two hours.

You must complete your mission in that time frame.” The older man replied.

“We need to kidnap her but how will we deal with the nuisance?” The young man asked.

“You don’t have to do anything about that.

Someone else will take care of it.” The older man replied.

The young man didn’t ask for anything anymore and simply left.

Once the older man was alone, he retrieved a crystal from one of his drawers and put his mana into it.

Once it was activated, a golden-haired man appeared in it.

“Speak?” The golden-haired man asked.

“Forward as always, Crown Prince.” The older man replied.

“Spit out what you want.” The crown prince of none other than the Cortum empire curtly replied.

The older man nodded and said, “There will be a surprise for everyone during this test.

I need you to do something for me.” “What?” The crown prince asked, resuming with his curt tone.

“Keep the heir busy.” The older man simply replied.

“I’m the heir.” But the crown prince had taken offense and loudly replied.

The older man chuckled and replied, “Of course, of course.

I apologize.

So, can you get it done?” “It will be done.” The crown prince replied and the communication was cut off at his reply.
