86: Mission end 86: Mission end I have started the correction process of the previous chapters and I am currently at the eleventh chapter.

Now that I am doing this, I have realized that it is a very tedious task compared to what I thought so it will take some time.

Also, if you still find mistakes, make sure to kindly mark them with comments so I can fix them as well.

That’s it.

Enjoy!

===== Chapter 86 Hah… what a waste.

[What is?] ‘Everything.’ Not only do I have to manually open the door to the spirit world, but I also had to expend a large amount of collected life elements to enchant those guys’ weapons.

‘It would have been a lot easier if I could wield my authority fully.’ I complained to particularly no one.

The thing is, no one is to blame for the restrictions cast on me.

Actually, it is even important.

Had there been no restriction on me, this world would have already been wiped out of existence.

Even my authority of frost, if it had been unleashed fully this dimension and everything close to it would have frozen down to their last atom.

And if we count the authority of space which I currently need to open the gateway to the spirit world, if it had been fully unlocked, then the whole space would have collapsed on itself.

Even the unlimited inventory is a cheat let alone everything else.

[No need to whine and get to it] ‘Roger.’ I nodded as I drew the array of the spatial entanglement.

The simple theory of a wormhole.

In other words, a singularity.

Of course, in this case, it would be a controlled one so I will guide the pathway to my desired location which in this case would be the spirit world.

Meanwhile, from the looks of it, my companions aren’t faring any better.

Eric is once again being cut down while the rest are desperately trying to hit the spirit enough to halt the butchering process.

‘Can you do me a favor?’ [In turn for another one, yes] ‘Great.

Then stabilize it.

I know you can.’ [Fine] [But it will cost you] ‘Oh come on homie.

I thought we was tight.’ […] [Get it ready] I drew the final circle that connected all the arrays with one another.

It isn’t an easy process at all.

It was so difficult that even my forehead was sweating.

But I had to be sure no matter how taxing.

A small mistake and this entire word would be sucked into it.

All Allison would do is stabilize it.

I would have to install the necessary precautions so the spatial energy doesn’t eat up everything in its path and just focus on the spirit.

The silver lining about this is that I don’t have to provide any energy to it.

If I had to do that, then I wouldn’t even have thought of this.

However, Allison would be the one to provide the power.

She is the one stabilizing it after all.

[At least you know it isn’t a small favor] ‘Yep.’ Even the peak strength of this world wouldn’t be enough to provide enough energy to open and stabilize this process.

“And it’s done,” I said before I stood up, cracked my neck, and jumped in the direction of the spirit who was giving my companions a tough time.

Even with enchanted weapons, Asmara was completely down.

Zefton was bloodied and Layla was barely holding it herself.

As for Eric, he should be the most useless one here.

Why the hell did I waste my life element energy on this guy if he wasn’t even going to use it?

[Magic canons] I conjured ten magic canons costing me fifty MP and infused each of them with life element very, very slightly.

Once they were ready, I shot the first one which blasted it away.

Since magic canons had longer lasting life than magic bullets, I could keep them saved for a long time.

“Time to get out of here,” I ordered while healing all of my teammates.

Once all of them were in working condition to at least walk out of there, I stopped healing them and instructed them to leave while carrying Asmara who was still a bit lightheaded.

Of course, the spirit wasn’t going to leave us so easily.

We could leave with a little force but the same couldn’t be said for Eric who was its prime target.

I blasted the door using four magic canons that were reinforced due to the spirit’s powers.

“Out, out, out,” I repeated while urging them to leave.

Zefton grabbed Eric from one side and pulled while I grabbed him from the other side and did the same.

The spirit wasn’t going to let him leave so easily but there was nothing else we could do.

“Layla,” I called Layla who was ahead of us, and said, “Conjure an ice wall in front of us.

Use all of your mana.” Layla swiftly acted to my instructions and did what I asked.

We let go of Eric who was pulled by the spirit but slammed into the ice wall and stopped.

He was still being pulled but the ice wall was too strong to let him go.

[Sacred blessing] I empowered everyone with my skill and they were immediately astonished by the power up even in this tough situation.

At least that got their attention so I didn’t let go of the opportunity.

“Brace yourself.

There is going to be a strong pull.

Very strong.” Asmara didn’t say another word and grabbed me tightly while Layla conjured ice on her feet trapping herself there.

Eric was already being pulled so there was that while it was already too late for Zefton who was looking for something to hold on to.

A strong suction force suddenly erupted from the direction of the villa we were just in.

It was so strong that even my cheeks felt like they were being pulled.

‘And why the hell is she pulling on to me?’ Asmara was grabbing me so tightly that I was on the edge of losing my balance.

[Celestial guard] A circular shield engulfed both of us and the suction lessened by a lot.

Of course, the amount of MP expenditure was great as well.

Layla was about to lose her footing so I cast another shield around her.

The mana expenditure doubled so I had to drink an MP recovery potion in just ten seconds even though my MP was massive at this point.

Zefton was heavy enough to hold himself even though he wasn’t holding onto anything and Eric remained plastered to the ice wall as he was when he was being pulled by the spirit.

Some cracks were appearing in the ice wall but I was sure it would hold until it was all over.

The wormhole wouldn’t last longer than thirty seconds.

There was no apparent problem except for the debris that was being sucked into the wormhole.

I just hope there aren’t any people around.

[There aren’t] I heaved a sigh of relief and just waited for it to be done now which wasn’t long.

[You have changed a lot of fates] [You have succeeded in figuring out a hidden piece] [You have protected the world laws] [Rewards will be given] […] […] ===== A spirit was sucked into the spatial phenomena that occurred because of a human.

The spirit tried its hardest to resist but it was the first to be sucked into the wormhole.

The next moment it appeared inside a world that was covered in a whitish hue.

Everything around it was peaceful and the plants and trees were covered in a milky white hue as if glowing.

The spirit was about to move towards the unusual phenomena that was still throwing things into the spirit world to get back in when it felt a presence that awakened an emotion deep inside its soul that it had forgotten for a very long time.

Fear.

Nothing but fear was felt by the spirit in the presence of this enormous presence.

That feeling was so strong that even its inherent impulse to kill all infidels was being suppressed.

“And here I thought it would be the prince but it’s just a corrupted brat.” A calm and serene voice traveled far out and deep inside the souls of those who listened.

“Still, it seems you have been sent by him seeing it was his presence that opened the gate.

There must be a reason for that so I guess purifying you wouldn’t be a loss.” The voice once again said and the next moment, a shriek was heard far away that belonged to the new spirit who had just come to this world.

‘What would he want now?

Should I ask his father?

No.

That monster is nothing but trouble.

But then again, the son is equally troublesome.’ The presence thought amidst the shrieks of the spirit who was being purified.

===== “So, let me get this straight.

The murderer was a ghost.” Desmond summarized our reports given individually.

I was very detailed in my report so he had no questions other than this.

“Actually it was a spirit but for the sake of convenience, yes, a ghost.

A vengeful ghost.” I replied to him while the others were somewhat embarrassed to reply after their actions today.

I made sure to mention their embarrassing actions in my report with even greater detail which Desmond made sure to say out loud in front of everyone.

“I see.” He replied simply while Michelle standing on the side was dumbstruck by the newly revealed information.

“Anyway.

You have provided enough evidence to conclude this mission and since all your testimonies match, there is no need to delve further into this.” Desmond said.

After a brief pause, he continued, “Now let us talk about your reward.

In the first place would be naturally student Adrian and I don’t need to say why.

In the second place would be student Asmara who displayed quick judgment in the moment of crisis.” “In the third place would be student Layla who displayed satisfactory behavior of a solider and protected her fellow companions.” At this point, he stopped to let us take the win in.

Zefton clearly seemed dissatisfied as for Eric, the worse part was yet to come.

“As for student Zefton.

Although you displayed remarkable combat abilities, your reckless behavior, failure to disobey orders, and constant complaining were twenty times worse than your good behavior.” Zefton became angrier the more Desmond spoke but he held all of it in as he couldn’t display any of that here.

“As for student Eric.

If I have to summarize your contribution to this mission in one word, then that would be a ‘liability’.” I almost laughed when Desmond said that and I wasn’t the only one.

Even Asmara laughed a bit and had to hold her mouth.

Eric was tremendously embarrassed, far from angry.

The worst part was, even he knew that he indeed was a liability hence why he was so much ashamed.

“Now,” Desmond spoke again after a while and continued once we were all attentive, “Let us talk about your rewards.” ====== [Seriously?] ‘Yep.

Nothing beats money.’ I simply asked for money.

A lot of money.

Credit and contribution were a given but as a material reward, while Asmara and Layla asked for mana crystals and skills, I asked for money.

Why would I need a skill I have no use for or mana crystals that I have a lot of already?

It took us almost a full day to solve this little episode and we were given today off as a reward.

I was glad because I was in quite a hurry to head home and see if my new team had succeeded in doing what I asked them to.

Even though I asked them to make it in a night, it was impossible but I’m sure now that a full day has passed as well, they would have surely made it.

[Aren’t you going to check the notifications from before and receive the rewards first?] ‘Afterwards this.’ Although I was curious about many things, I could also predict many things.

But among all of this, there was an unfortunate part as well.

Although I hadn’t made sure of it yet, the events regarding the dimension collapse and everything else related to it pointed at only one thing.

Eric Tudor is a vital piece of this universe and I begrudgingly would have to protect him.

I don’t have to necessarily protect him but I also can’t let him die.

“I’m screwed.” Was the last thought in my mind before I entered the villa.
