441: Do Not Read 441: Do Not Read Chapter 1 “Your Highness!

You must run!” An armored man said as he tried to hold back another armored man.

the one he was trying to protect was a boy of no more than ten.

The boy, frightened, and afraid for his life, heeded the words of the knight and ran as fast as he could.

Alas, a child could not outrun a fully grown man.

The child ran as fast as he could but, in the end, in an alley, he was caught by his assailants.

Around him, a city burned in the fire, the city he had decided to visit so he could create some memories as the prince of the nation, se he could associate with the people of the kingdom, understand them.

The city at the edge of his nation.

The guards with him were enough to take down a city, or even capture an entire army.

Alas, they were not enough against an expert.

“Kugh!!!” The child stumbled and fell, in the alley, in front of him, stood a man with a dagger in his hand.

He looked at the boy with no particular emotion in his eyes and his expressionless face indicated how menial this task was to him.

As he approached the boy, his figure shrouded in the shadows, he raised his dagger.

The intent was clear.

Finish the job as soon as possible.

“Aaahhh!!!” Suddenly, the yell of a man was heard in the alley.

The boy turned to look at what seemed to be an old man past the age of seventy running at the man with the dagger with a trowel in his hands.

The man with the dagger didn’t even move an inch before he waved his dagger slightly, cutting the arms of the old man who was coming to the aid of the boy.

“Aahhhh!!!” A scream of pain and one would think the old man was done for.

The boy lost his last hope and it was the end.

However, against the expectation of the boy and the assassin, the old man didn’t fall.

He kept running, stomaching the pain of losing both his arms and slammed into the assassin.

While he couldn’t manage to move the assassin, he managed to bit him.

“Argh!” The assassin grunted, more in annoyance than in pain and grabbed the neck of the old man while he was still bitting the assassin and twisted it at an odd angle.

The old man died on the spot, as he was destined to be.

Done with the distraction, the assassin turned to the boy to finish the job only to see the boy had vanished.

“Haha.” The assassin chuckled before he threw the old man’s corpse away and vanished from his spot.

“Haa…

Haa…

Haa…” The boy took deep breaths as he ran as fast as he could.

Tears and snot ran down his face as he remembered the fate of the old man who had tried to save him.

But, more than that, he felt…

“What a coward you are.” He suddenly heard a cold, emotionless voice before he was hit by a weight that could have only been called unnatural.

His knees buckled under the pressure and his will to move forward turned thin.

The figure appeared before him, the assassin whom he had left behind, now before his very eyes.

“You call yourself a prince yet you let an old man die for you and did…

nothing.” The assassin said.

One could argue what could a boy of ten do against a full fledged adult and a man of his power.

But, that didn’t matter in the least.

The boy himself thought the same.

His will wasn’t running thin because of the strength f the assassin before him, it was also because he was the reason a man died.

A man he didn’t even knew before.

“Now…” The assassin simply raised his dagger and said to the boy who had lost all the will to survive, “Die.” He brought his dagger down, just inches away from the boy when…

“Starcross!” A yell was heard once again and the body of the assassin divided into four as the shape of the cross, extending from the middle of his chest to his hips and shoulders formed due to the strike of a single sword.

Head, arms, and legs, one could say it was a perfect star.

The attack killed the assassin on the spot, ensuring the safety of the boy.

The boy survived.

And while others didn’t feel the death of the old man to be a great cost, the boy himself did.

And that was enough to bound him to remorse for the rest of his life.

~~ “He hasn’t eaten for days now.” A woman with stunning features worriedly said to a handsome man in a robe.

The golden crown on the golden haired head of the handsome man indicated his status as the king of the nation and the woman with the stunning dark features and pale skin was the queen of the nation.

At the moment, they were worried about their only son.

The sole prince of the nation, their powerless son.

His powerless status was a cross they had to bear but the king wasn’t like the typical kings who desired a strong heir.

He loved his wife and his son, the only son he had after great difficulty, very much.

“Leave him be.” The king could only say, “He’s still in shock.” “But I’m worried.” The queen replied, her dark irises trembling in worry.

The king’s golden eyes also quivered in worry but he had the mindset of a father.

No matter how much he loved his son, he desired him to be a strong willed man.

If this was enough to bring him down, then perhaps he had been too lenient.

“Don’t fret.” The king said.

“He’ll pull through.” The queen could only sigh and nod, ever so helpless even with the all the power she had in the world.

she redirected her worry in the form of anger somewhere else as she asked, “Have you found out who it was?” The king, on the other hand, had no answer.

He knew who did it but if he were to tell his wife, he knew a storm would shook his kingdom and he wouldn’t be able to stop him.

after all, no matter how strong of a man he was, compared to his wife, he was weak.

Both emotionally and physically.

“It was my sister,” But, he loved his son more, “And her husband.” Anger brimmed in the eyes of the queen as dark strands began to rise from her body.

In an instant, the throne room was filled with gasps and grunts as everyone in the throne room fell on their knees with the exception of the king.

The mana of a tenth circle mage hit them like a boulder.

The king could only shake his head at how little patience his wife held but he did nothing.

To him, it was fine as long as it was him, but his sister and her family crossed the line when they targeted his son.

He didn’t care about the backlash from the kingdom and its people.

Whatever happened beyond that point would be on his sister and her decisions.

~~ “Kugh!” The boy tried to raise the sword in his hands, but he couldn’t lift it.

He couldn’t even lift it, let alone strike the tree in front of him with it.

He was powerless.

The greatest irony of the world.

Born with the copulation of the strongest knight, a ten star aura master and the strongest mage, a tenth circle mana lord, he was the was ultimate failure.

His body was highly perceptive of aura and mana, and that was his downfall.

His own talent kept him bound as his body couldn’t handle the onslaught of the aura and mana, rendering him the weakest talent of the kingdom.

And the worse of it all was…

“I can’t even take my own life.” He murmured as he tried to lift the sword.

He wasn’t brave enough to kill himself, his body didn’t wish to die.

That was why he ran away even the cost of the old man.

One would that made him a coward.

That sole fact was enough to kill him.

But only in the figurative sense.

He couldn’t even die in the literal sense because he wasn’t brave enough.

“You’re doing it wrong.” Suddenly, a voice entered his ears.

A voice so smooth and serene that every left uttered in that voice would be the greatest lullaby ever.

But the fear that gripped the heart of the boy was immense.

The instincts of a human being told him, warned him of only one fact…

As he slowly turned around, his golden eyes looked at the white haired man who sat on the tree, nonchalantly eating an apple and looking down at him, he knew of only one thing.

That man was a monster.

“You’re doing it wrong, I say.” The white haired man once again said, but before the golden eyed boy could speak…

“Haa!!!” His eyes opened as he found himself in a dark cellar, a cell that held him captive as he looked around only to find himself in the dark cell he found himself in when he first opened his eyes.

Thak!

Thak!

The metal door of the cell was knocked on twice before the lower compartment of it opened from the outside, and a tray holding food that could be called an insult to food was slid inside the cell.

“Eat up!” “Haa…” He sighed as he closed his eyes and opened them again, calm in his dark eyes that couldn’t be described and expected least from a young man his age.

“Another day…”
