412: Do Not Read 412: Do Not Read Chapter 359 “So they have your heart?” Wei Jun asked the dark dragon before him.

“Yes, they do.” The dragon said before he added, “They use it to purify the world.

Well, at least a portion of it because they cannot fully utilize my heart yet.” “I see.” Wei Jun said before he asked, “Then why do they want to defeat you?

Wouldn’t killing you also destroy the heart?” “Haha,” The dragon chuckled before he replied, “A dragon’s mana and his heart can continue to live for millenniums even after the dragon’s death.

My organs, especially my heart, which could be called my core, would retain half of my power.

The most powerful engine on the earth, can you imagine?” Wei Jun didn’t have to.

He had seen it.

A giant city whose size would leave continents to shame was running on only one thing.

The heart of the dragon was before him.

The heart that was situated in the citadel.

“So I’ll have to find the heart and bring it to you?” Wei Jun asked.

“Haha,” The dragon once again chuckled, but this time, it wasn’t a lively chuckle but one laced with helplessness.

“I’m afraid that is not possible.” ~~ “Grrr…” A low growl emitted from the creature before Wei Jun.

The creature that was a human just a little while ago was now a dead human.

Or an alive one?

It was very confusing even for himself.

It wasn’t grotesque like a zombie, but it greatly resembled one.

Hollowed and unforuced eyes, mouth open, drooling like an idiot.

It was a classic zombie without the meat rotting and falling off of it.

The other difference was the dark hue emitting from the zombie like it was on fire.

Deep, dark, destructive fire.

[Skill: Call of the deceased] [Tier: Undertermined] [Description: The unique authority of the great elder dragon, Salvador Granted to him by the being beyond death, it was an ability that named him the ‘Dragon of the Dead’] [Effect: Control the people you kill] [The user must have the power of Darkness or a branch higher than that] [Cost: None] [The will of the user plays an important part in calling the dead] [The dead can refure the user’s call] [The dead must not be stronger than the user] It was a great skill; Wei Jun had to admit that much.

Not only did it not require anything, allowing him to use it infinitely, but the requirements were compatible with him as well.

The restrictions were a little something, but Wei Jun was sure he was stronger than everyone in the city at the moment.

However, strength didnt mean he could win against the people in the city.

Especially not with their power and weapons.  “It-It’s you.” The blue skinned woman said, her expression stricken with fear.

Wei Jun paid her no mind and walked away, along with eleven dead-alive humans in tow.

He simply disappeared from the spot.

~~ “What do you mean to say, Alfred?” Samson asked Alfred while they were busy in their meeting.

Alfred, unsure of what to really say, looked at him and the rest of them before he said, “People in my district are disappareing.

Not of the other races but the humans.” “The gangs and organizations are the same.

The same thing is happening to them as well.

It began on a small scale but now, some followers of mine have also gone missing.” Upon hearing Alfred’s account, Samson turned to the rest of the council and asked, “Does anyone else here has somethign to say about this?” It wasnt strange for disputes among the council to spiral out of control and even turn into an all out war.

Of course, it never got that far and it was stopped by the council before things got too serious.

Lower level disputes were a norm as well.

After all, being stuck in the dome, it was their only form of entertainment.

That and bullying the people of other races.

However, disppaerance of people wasnt right.

Humans were already low in number, almost nine percent of the entire city’s population.

If there was such a case and humans were being killed, it threatened their authority.

The couldnt give the liberation army a chnace to resurface again and take what was rightfully theirs.

However, fully knowing the consequences, no one in the room raised a hand to indicate that it could have been one of them.

If they were trying to hide it, then it was a different story but from the looks of it, they were just as confused as Samson.

“Do you intend to tell me that none of you are involved?” Samson asked again in his usual soft tone.

Everyone shook their heads, leaving Samson a little puzzled.

He turned to Ahmad who was also deep in contemplation.

“What do you think, Ahmad?” Ahmad snapped out of his thoughts and looked at Samson.

The conflicted expression on his face told Samson that Ahmad had a hunch but perhaps it was too far fetched for Ahamd to say it out loud.

“What is it?” Samson asked.

Ahmad didnt know what to say but regardless, he knew he had to say something so he said, “The heart.” “Pardon?” Samson asked, and not just him, but Anastasia, Alfred and all of the council turned to look at him, their attention solely on him.

It was one thing to be lost in thought and not paying attention.

However, mentioning an entirely different thing was also an anomaly.

No one in the room was stupid.

They all knew that if Ahmad had chosen to mention something about the heart, then it must be related.

Or at least he thgouht so.

“The heart has stopped beating.” Ahmad said.

A wave of panic spread throughout the entire room but before anything could happen, Ahmad clarified, “The mana leaking from it hasnt decerased in one bit but the heart has stopped beating.” “Then isnt that what we wanted?” Anastaisa asked.

“We did.”Samson replied instead of Ahmad and added, “But that also means those mercenaries have managed to kill the Behemoth.

Somethign no one had been able to do for centuries.” He then looked at Ahmad and asked, “Any changes in the atmosphere?” Samson asked the very question that had Ahmad concerned.

For centuries, they beleived that the air outside the dome was contaminated due to the Behemoth but now that he had died, his heart had stopped beating, there were no chnages on the outside.

It only meant that the atmospeher of the world had nothign to do with the Behemoth.

“None.” Ahmad replied, leaving everyone in shock.

“So that means…” Alfred wanted to say soemthign but his words got stuck in his throat.

It meant that even with the Behemoth’s death, they couldnt get out of the dome.

“When did the heart stopped beaitng?” Samson asked.

“Two days ago.” Ahmad replied.

“Then why didnt you say anything then?!” Alfred yelled in anger.

Even Samson was curious about that.

Ahmad wasnt the type to make such a mistake so there must be something.

“I was waiting to see if there were any changes in the atmosphere.

Even now we are closely monitoring the surroundings to see if there is any change but…” Ahmad’s words trailed off.

There was nothing happening.

There was no change.

Another ominous thought assaulted all of them.

With the Behemoth dead, would the heart emit mana as it used to.

Would it endlessly supply them with mana to purify their city for centuries to come?

Wouldnt it also wither away now that its owner was dead?

At such a thought, no one in the room could utter even a word.

However, ecah and everyone in the room knew of one thing… Killing the Behemoth was a mistake.

Just as they were still reveling in their dread, the watches on their hands began to ring.

They were alerts from their subordinates to alert them of a situation.

Ahmad hurreidly answered one and asked, “What is it?” “Sir, um…” The subordinate on the other end spoke but didnt know how to explain the situation.

Ahmad got a little irriated and said, “What is it?!

Speak clearly!” He wasnt the only one, the others were also busy with such conversation with their own subordinates.

Ecah and everyo one of them had confused expressions on their faces when their subordinates relayed the news to them, “It-It’s an apocalypse.” “What?” Ahmad asked, flabbergasted by the words used by his subordinate.

~~ Out on the streets, the guards fired at hundreds of people running in their direction, their weapons at full swing but the number of people was too much for their ammo.

In the end, the guard line was breached and killed, only to be added to the army of humans who seemed to have lost their minds.

With guns in their hands, the undead guards began to shoot their own comrades, the very people they were fighting with just a moment ago.

Among all of them, in that big, big crowd, a man in black stepped forward with a… joyous expression on his face.

As if, what was happening, was making him extremely happy.

“Chaos…” He simply said, “Is beautiful, isnt it?”
