356: Dragon king’s heart 356: Dragon king’s heart Chapter 356 “Are you glad now that you finally know the answer?” Bruce asked the dark figure before him, his eyes narrowed and a cold expression on his face.

“You betrayed me.

Why should I feel glad?” The dark figure asked.

Bruce smiled.

He looked at Allison as he replied, “You were Bryce’s love.

I’m Bruce.” “So it seems.

Allison replied, “I don’t see an ounce of the real you in you.” Bruce chuckled once again.

But before anyone could even figure out his intentions, he appeared before the dark figure and grabbed it from about above its neck as he spoke, “This is the real me, Lady Allison.” “…” The dark figure remained irresponsive to that.

Bruce sighed and let go of the figure.

He stepped back and said, “Stop messing with my son.

I’ve given you an opportunity, Lady Allison.

I suggest you try and take it.” “Quite generous of you.

Giving all the cards to your son.” The dark figure replied.

“And I have given that very son to you.

I’m sure the great Allison Radcliffe can easily outwit him,” Bruce said before he disappeared from his spot, leaving the dark figure alone in her spot.

The dark figure turned to look at the white-haired boy who stood in the distance with a serious look on his face, “It might not be that easy considering how much of a monster he is.” ~~ [You have completed the overseer’s request] [You have been awarded] [Would you like to receive your rewards?] [YesNo] ‘…’ I remained silent.

Granted, the test, or whatever it was, was over.

However, what remained on my mind was the fact that my father was from another world.

Or he had been to another world and back.

Before today, I only thought that the multiverse didn’t exist but came into existence due to the lunatic’s doing.

My father then stepped in to take the reins and then came the fragments.

I mean, that was what my masters told me how it went.

But apparently, that wasn’t so.

Why was I so sure that my dad went through such a thing?

I mean, one could always assume that he could have also lived through the fragments.

But there were too many points to prove my earlier theory.

He met my mom before the formation of fragments so he wouldn’t just go to another fragment and start such a love story.

Not to mention the fact that the father I saw was different.

Not just his appearance but his eyes as well.

They were different.

They were of a dead person.

My father didn’t have such eyes.

I had seen his cold eyes before, scary eyes, stupid eyes, but never had I ever seen his eyes dead.

He was always alive.

Even if he lived through a fragment, there would have been effects of that life.

There weren’t.

It was as if he lived one type of life in another world and then another in another.

Whatever it was, it was a little too hard of a fact to deal with.

My father could have eyes like that.

It was honestly really scary.

Not to mention the fact that he always took it easy on me was also very difficult to swallow.

It stung.

‘Yes.’ But there was no time to waste.

I didn’t know how many months had it been since I was inside the Tower of Regrets, but I didn’t want to waste any more time here.

Especially not since I read the notifications about Alicia earlier.

[By the authority of the administrator] [Your reward has been increased by one tier] [You have been granted the heart of the dragon king] [You have been granted the blood essence of a dragon x5] [For being the first to clear the Tower of Regrets] [You have been granted a chance to wield an authority] [Authority will be chosen at random] [You have obtained the authority of the mind] [Authority of the Telepath: Empath] My brain stung for a moment before I felt the familiar sensation of my mind going through a change.

It wasn’t a big problem.

It was simply a little uncomfortable.

Besides, this mind was Adrian’s, not mine.

While it was difficult for this feeble mind to contain my authority, it would be toned down a little to match its capabilities.

It would be linked with my INT stat so it wouldn’t be long before I raised it to a level where it would be formidable.

Well, there was no need to do that anyway.

Once my body was reconstructed, there wouldn’t be a need to associate it with my INT stat.

Other than that, I was pleasantly surprised about the first two prizes.

While the blood essences of dragons wouldn’t be of much use to me, I knew just where to use them.

As for the heart of a dragon king, well, I wasn’t really expecting this.

No, this wasn’t a blessing.

This was another one of those bastard’s attempts to make things needlessly difficult for me.

There was a reason I asked for an elder dragon’s heart in the first place.

This was a body that wouldn’t be able to handle even the elder dargon’s heart.

Even for that, I had made extensive preparation yet the heart of a dragon king.

The dragon king!

An entity that was only born once in a lifetime.

Considering the life span of an average of 500,000 years, that was a very rare ingredient given it could only be obtained once in the lives of fifty thousand people.

And while it was incredibly rare, it was very, very powerful as well.

Consuming this heart wasn’t even possible for a human.

There wasn’t even a one-in-a-million chance to survive its consumption unless it was properly processed.

Properly processing it was also a very arduous task Even my mother had eaten such a thing only once and she wasn’t even able to absorb 10 percent of its power.

Granted, consuming it once and absorbing just 10 percent of its power was enough in a lifetime.

For me though, it would be very difficult to process it.

To process the heart of a dragoon king, one would need its bones.

I didn’t have its bones.

Haa… It was a gamble.

My father, as always, wanted to see me suffer.

Damn sadist.

Without further ado, I began to draw the circle for the fifth and final step of the Penta enhancement array.

What lay ahead was a gamble.

I’d die here if I didn’t survive.

There was no requirement for strong willpower or anything else.

There was no grand reason to cling to.

What comes ahead wouldn’t be solved with my goal or anything else.

It was a simple 50-50 chance.

I had never attempted this before.

I didn’t know what the answer would be.

What the result would be.

I’d either live, or I’d die.

Nothing other than that.

Completed, I placed the dragon heart in the middle of the array, sat beside it, and took a deep breath.

“Begin.” As I said that, the outer circle began to shine.

Slowly, all the ingredients placed in the outer circle of the array began to dissolve and merge with the array.

They broke down into millions of particles and merged with the array, moving from the outermost array to the next one.

A similar scene appeared in the array before it moved to the next one.

The same went for the next two circles as well until finally, it was the turn of the final circle.

With each circle’s progression, my nervousness reached extreme heights until finally, the power reached the final circle.

Since there were only two things in the last circle, the dragon heart and me, both of us began to dissolve as well.

Oh yeah, dissolve.

As I said, a perfect body reconstruction.

As they say, new stuff can only be bought once you get rid of the old one.

It was time to say goodbye to Adrian’s body and welcome my own.

Well, it wouldn’t be my own.

But it would be very, very close to one.

As my body continued to breakdown and only my head was left, I prayed once more that it’d work.

And then… Darkness took over.

~~ “What do you mean you cannot let me in?” The silver knight who stood before the training room Adrian was inside said with a frown on his face.

“You cannot enter.

My liege has left me with strict instructions that he must not be disturbed even if it is the emperor himself.” Max, who stood in his way, replied.

“You…” The silver knight said as he stepped forward threateningly, “You think you are someone noble just because His Highness, the fifth prince, decided to take you under his wing.” “I am simply following the orders of my liege.

You may not pass.” Max said, a hand on his sword while his other hand was on his shield.

“You!!!” The silver knight angrily raised his hand when suddenly… Kugh!!!

He crashed into a pillar nearby, and sparks of electricity covered his entire body.

Rose stood behind him with a cold expression as she turned to Max and said, “How many times have I told you to not listen to them anymore?

Just hit them and get this over with.” ‘Easy for you to do.’ Max internally retorted but he wasn’t a fool to say it out loud.

“But, they’re coming in droves.

What should we do now?

What if his Majesty sent Sir Bayren?” Max worriedly asked.

Adrian had been asked back to the empire for a month now.

At first, it was just a summon but now, they were sending silver knights.

“Then I will beat him up too,” Rose replied with the same expression.

Max just looked at her with narrowed eyes and sighed.

It had been almost six months since his liege went inside the training room.

His summons had been coming for four months now.

It wouldn’t be long before things got troublesome.

Before they did, Max desperately prayed, ‘Please come out, my liege.

I cannot take this anymore.’ Tremble… Tremble… As if his prayers had been heard, the ground began to tremble.

And… A terrifying feeling overtook his heart.
