348: An army 348: An army Chapter 348 “We’re all ready to go,” Sophien said as she entered my room without even knocking.

Doing that would have gotten her into big trouble but she had all the authority to do so.

Even my knight was afraid of her.

I excused Max who was eager to leave from the looks of it and left in a heartbeat.

“Mind telling me what your plan is?” She asked.

She hadn’t talked to me about us both being from Earth.

Maybe she thought I didn’t know or maybe she didn’t want to open that box.

I was more than happy to agree and replied, “You will see soon.

Are the constructions to the city complete?” “Yes.

Many from the outside wanted to come and settle into the city but according to your instructions, I didn’t let anyone in.” She replied.

I nodded.

Seeing the new and improved Caligula City, many would have turned to it, hoping to explore new opportunities such as real estate or business ones.

But I declined all of that.

I didn’t need Caligula to be flourishing.

I simply needed a base for my plans.

Besides, all the empty space in it would soon be filled.

“Then let us depart.

The more we stay, the more difficult it would be to leave,” I replied.

Right now, the situation in the empire wasn’t very good.

With the matter of the church going on, the noble families were trying to cement their influence while the imperial family was busy dealing with them.

Still, my wish was swiftly carried out and it was carried out by none other than Rafael himself.

With him involved, even the archdukes didn’t dare to talk back and complied with my demands.

As promised, all the slaves of the empire were delivered to the Caligula by now from markets to the bigshot families as well.

I arrived at the teleportation circle with Sophien, Rose, and Max.

I saw Laura looking at me suspiciously which I bet had something to do with the red face of Alicia.

The rest were clueless except for Sophien who knew exactly what was going on.

She leaned into my ear and whispered, “I’m coming to your room tonight.” I trembled a little, maybe by the expectation or the way she said it, but I was in no position to refuse.

I didn’t feel it was safe to deny that order.

[You’re just like your father] ‘My god I’m just like my father.’ In a short moment, we arrived in the Caligula.

Courtesy of Rafael, a teleportation circle was constructed here as well.

There would have been opposition from Cornelius but Sophien, who was here to act as his eyes and ears, didn’t bother to report to him so it was built in secret as well.

Once we arrived, I made my way to the left side of the city, the part which was completely empty.

No buildings in sight or any other obstructions.

A perfect training ground.

There, I saw almost 12000 people standing, some in fear, some curious while some, some just didn’t care about their fates anymore.

I glanced at Rose, who stood with a sad expression.

There was nothing I could do about her past.

Unlike most slaves, she had no choice but to be a slave so she could pay for her father’s treatment.

Her fate was good, thanks to the setting of the world because she was to become Eric’s ally somehow, and met Adrian who saved her from slavery, but in that short time, she had made some friends.

Friends whose fates weren’t so good in the end.

And now, seeing thousands of such people made her all the more sad.

Still, I was happy her faith in me hadn’t lessened and knew I wouldn’t want slaves.

To reward that faith, I sucked in a lot of air and said, “Greetings!!!” My voice spread far thanks to my soul power but didn’t pierce anyone’s ears.

Also thanks to my soul power.

Once I had their attention, I began to point at some people among them.

Almost all of them were humans with only some of them being dwarves, demons, and vampires.

The ones that I picked, there was no elf amongst them.

“The people I have pointed to, please follow my friend Max to another part of the city.” I signaled Max who nodded back and took two thousand and some people away.

The rest, almost ten thousand people, a mixture of all races, looked at me.

I said, without yelling this time, “Welcome to Caligula.

Your new home, should you choose it to be.

And yes, I have said home, not a cage.

For those who want to live here, become something, and become my followers, you are welcome to stay.

For those who don’t, and wish to return to their homes, raise your hands.” No one raised their hands.

No one wanted to return.

Most didn’t have a home to return to and those who did, didn’t want to because that home betrayed them.

“I see.” I said, as I waved my hand, and the slave seals around everyone’s neck were destroyed, “Now you’re all free.

Now you have another choice to make.

Become a citizen of my city and live here forever while working jobs.

Or become my soldiers and,” I raised my hands and simply said, “Take the world into your hands.” “Take revenge on those who destroyed your homes.

Your families.” I gave them a reason to join me, “Or take revenge on the so-called family who betrayed you and sold you to savages.

Just know this…” I paused, I looked at them, all of them, a malicious grin on my face, “With me.

You will become a power no one in the world would be able to fight against.” ~~ Creation had one strongest desire, the best form of motivation.

Revenge.

On those that wronged you.

Being able to take revenge on them was an offer that made some make deals with the devil even for their souls.

Yet, I wasn’t asking for their souls.

I was simply asked for their loyalty.

Some people here had desires that would be hard to meet but… “You!

Are!

Free!” I yelled again.

“We!

Are!

Free!” They yelled in return as they did their thousandth push-up.

Sophien looked at me strangely.

I could tell what was going through her mind.

Well, aside from her weak resolve.

She never came to my room that night or many nights after that.

I was a little disappointed but I didn’t insist.

It wasn’t her time yet anyway.

Anyway, the reason she was looking at me so strangely was because the people here, who were dead than alive a few days ago, were now saying up was down just because I said so.

They did anything and everything I asked for.

As if my word was the absolute law.

Mass hypnosis as if.

But that wasn’t so.

It was just my natural leadership.

Not to brag but my family demanded leadership.

Even if someone else was the leader in a room, if I was there, almost everyone listened to me, even the leader.

My presence demanded subservience.

It was the same for these people as well.

It didn’t matter what race they were from or what gold they held.

My goals were their goals and theirs were mine.

As long as that simple fact was upheld, these people will be loyal to me for generations to come.

“What have you done to them?” She couldn’t help but ask.

I simply smiled in return and turned to the ten generals of my army, “Generals!

Increase the intensity!” Ten people among the thousands began to push those under them faster and harder.

In just a week, the weak, feeble people were nowhere to be seen.

Well, most of it had to do with the life energy I was feeding them all the time, but also, their willpower played a great role in their change.

They were no monsters yet, but all of them, each and every one of them were now D ranks.

Of course, their progress won’t be as fast going forward, but… It would soon be something else.

After all, immortals didn’t fear death.

Time to make them immortals.

To do that, however, I needed to increase my soul power.

To do that, I needed soul power from souls.

To get that, I needed souls.

Luckily, I had two thousand, and some, of them were just ready for me.

I entered the section of the city where those slaves were kept.

They stood at attention, hoping I would free them as well but I only smiled in return.

Why in the world would I free them?

Only unfortunate souls weren’t sold into slavery.

Criminals, vicious ones, also became slaves.

These were such vicious criminals and if they deserved one thing, it was death.

And if their death benefited me as well, well, that would be amazing, wouldn’t it be?

“Thank you for your sacrifice,” I said with a smile, much to the confusion of the people and… [Initiating soul transfer] [SP required 200] [Sufficient SP required] [Initiating process] [1%…] “Ahhhh!!!!” You hear that?

That was the sound of their souls being ripped apart from their bodies.

And it was only going to get worse.
