324: The game of politics 324: The game of politics Chapter 324 I heavily wondered why no one was saying anything.

It wasn’t because of the ugly truth that left mine and Rose’s mouths, was it?

[Have you ever thought about writing a book on politics?] ‘Several.’ [No wonder] The platinum woman was now quiet.

It was a strike straight in her face after all.

She asked me to be forgiving after I was insulted by the monk.

While it wasn’t a big deal had it been forgiven and forgotten, she just had to drag me into it, letting everyone know that I was, in a sense, powerless.

While that fact would have still remained even if the matter had ended otherwise, her pointing it out made the fact clear as day that I couldn’t do anything against the Murim alliance.

But her mistake was to paint it as a gesture of forgiveness.

A big heart, one could say.

So I also decided to use the same trick on her.

Now if she wasn’t forgiving as I was, well, not her but her side, then they would be the ones who were the villains in this regard.

Ha!

In your face, sucker.

[Their expressions don’t look too good] Yet they were down to only two options.

Either they openly attacked a guest of the Cheonma sect while being in the Cheonma sect just after they themselves had done the same thing and become the biggest hypocrites of all time, or they could try and be forgiving just as I was.

As complicated as the first option was, it was also equally harder not to accept that one.

The more simpler the second option was, it was an equally harder choice because of their pride.

But the entire game lay on the platinum woman.

She was the one caught in a net.

While the rest could use their brawns, she was the one stuck with the brains and she knew the severe consequences of choosing the former option.

“Haha,” She chuckled, shocking her own side before she added, “I understand that young master Hyun is a little… healthy.

But is it polite to call him like that to his face, young master?” “Please address his highness by his appropriate title,” Rose curtly said.

I, however, raised my hand to calm her down and turned to the platinum woman with a smile, “I definitely admit it wasn’t.

I would like to apologize for that.” Saying so, I gave him a full 45-degree bow and asked her, asked them, to be the bigger person and overlook this mistake of mine, overlook this rude act of mine.

“Haha,” A muffled chuckle could be heard from next to us.

Tae Yong was covering her mouth, stifling her laughter terribly.

The Murim alliance, the organization that came with so much arrogance, was now backed into a corner where they had to either admit to be petty or cowards.

Neither was a good thing and both brought severe consequences.

The question that only remained was whether or not they would choose their pride over rationality.

“Of course,” The platinum woman smiled, fake smiled, of course, and added, “Everyone can make mistakes.” “Everyone sure can,” I replied before I turned to Tae Yong and said, “I feel like we should head inside, sect master.

Unless we want to finish everything out here?” “No, we don’t,” Tae Yong replied straightforwardly and turned to face her palace.

The elders and demons of the Cheonma followed her while some of the officials moved to the back of everyone, behind the guests, of course.

I followed her without saying anything and so did Rose.

The imperial envoy followed us next and after them was the Murim alliance, their expressions were really not good.

After ten minutes or so, we were all seated.

The Cheonma sect leader sat on her throne as always.

The left side of the lane was dedicated to the people of the Cheonma sect and I was also seated there along with Rose.

First, the four demons sat and then I did.

The disciples of the heavenly demon weren’t invited from the looks of it.

The right lane was for the guests.

The emperor and two main elders sat first.

Then the people of the Murim alliance took a seat.

After the emperor was the platinum woman and then the Murim alliance leader, his son, and the man who was with them in the carriage.

He was the Namgoong family’s patriarch.

After him, the rest of the people took their seats.

Those who were left had to take their seats behind them just like on our side.

I was seated after the four demons which actually spoke volumes of the amount of respect the Cheonma sect was giving me.

The Murim alliance, especially the leader and his son, was still giving me a stink eye for my earlier remarks.

The platinum woman, on the other hand, was looking at me cautiously.

I guess her power wasn’t working which was making her cautious of me.

The emperor was also wary of me and he should be.

I was still angry at that party.

“We shall now begin,” Tae Yong, without even welcoming her guests, got straight to the point, “We are gathered here to discuss the issue of the assassination of the first imperial prince.

It is stated that the Murim alliance’s Namgoong family is involved in it somehow.” “While the accusations aren’t backed by any form of evidence, the imperial family has still decided to follow adequate measures of this matter and called for this meeting.

We, the Heavenly Demon Sect, would be acting as mediators between the Namgoong family and the Imperial family’s questions.” “Are there any objections?” Tae Yong finished and asked.

“…” Everyone remained silent.

While the Murim alliance could have acted childishly by saying that they were being wrongly accused, they couldn’t do so because of the party involved.

The imperial family.

If it was any other power, this meeting wouldn’t have been so peaceful.

There would have been accusations flying around and more havoc than in a fish market.

But the only reason there was no yelling was simply because of the power the imperial family held.

The power of the people.

The world was, after all, never run by just martial arts.

It was run by people.

The imperial family was the one who controlled such people.

They were indispensable and couldn’t be ignored at any rate.

So, in order to resolve this issue peacefully, power couldn’t be used.

In any other case, the Murim alliance would have already been gearing up for a war but they were sitting in here, in the presence of a company they didn’t like too much.

“We have reasons to believe that an incident occurred at the Namgoong residence when the imperial prince, Wang Luo.

Shortly after he left the Namgoong residence, and was still in the said territory, his envoy was attacked and everyone on it lost consciousness.

There was only one casualty and that was the imperial prince Wang Luo.

We simply wish to get to the bottom of this matter and see if the Namgoogn family is, in any way, involved in this incident or not.” One of the imperial elders gave a long and tiring, but detailed explanation and didn’t leave any point behind.

Tae Yong nodded and turned to the Namgoong Patriarch, “What does the Namgoong family have to say about this?” “We didn’t do it.” The patriarch simply replied.

What a compelling argument.

Sincerity was dripping in that reply.

It was also a clear slap on the imperial family.

A short but clear message, ‘We don’t care,’ was relayed in that reply and the imperial family was easily able to pick up on it.

But that didn’t make matters well, you know.

Even the platinum woman agreed with me about how fidgety she was looking at the patriarch.

This insincere reply only emboldened the imperial side.

They were now heavily convinced that the Namgoong family had something to do with the fatso’s assassination and they were disrespecting the imperial family by acting so nonchalantly as well.

“Well, since the Namgoong family has no intention of taking this seriously,” And Tae Yong didn’t help by saying out the obvious, widening the wedge between both parties, “We will have to hear what the incident was.

The Murim Alliance can choose a representative to give a detailed recount of the incident.” Drag the name of the Namgoong family through mud, was the better translation for that.

Right now, the major players of the Murim were gathered.

In front of them all, if the story of how the daughter of the Namgoong family was molested was recounted, the name of the Namgoong family would be left in dregs.

As much as I would have liked to continue with this, knowing that the Namgoong family’s girl didn’t deserve this, I raised my hand.

“Yes, Gabriel,” Tae Yong allowed me to speak which I did, and asked, “Is it possible that the Namgoong family is being framed?” “It is possible,” The elder from the imperial family replied before he added, “Which is why we ask the Namgoong family to tell us what exactly happened in the Namgoong state because there are no witnesses to that incident.” ‘It is possible,’ was a fancy way of saying that it was also a possible ploy from the Namgoong family.

But the Namgoong family wasn’t going to let their name be dragged through the mud so they would remain quiet regarding it.

Whether they were guilty or not, they had to pay.

Rotten politics.
