313: Peace and Justice?

313: Peace and Justice?

Chapter 313 Age.

The universal rule of the universe and its creation.

One can escape death, try to, at least, but they can never, ever escape aging.

The curse of aging can never be escaped from.

[Unless one’s an immortal] ‘Well, I’m not technically immortal.’ Technically, the issue was quite deep so it was better to leave it at that.

The current issue was the issue of aging.

One could never stop doing that.

Everyone ages, no matter what.

Even the emperor, back in the Cortum Empire, would age and die as well.

He may look like a seventy-year-old man but he was probably somewhere between 110-120.

The same went for this old man.

The Water Demon.

The core of the heavenly demon sect.

He ages, just like everyone else.

Of course, Qi, unlike mana, was the force of life, just like spiritual energy, so one would age very, very slowly.

This old man was at least above 120, if not more.

Yet he looked like somewhere around 60.

But he ages.

And he was reaching the end of his life span.

Soon enough, if he didn’t go through body reformation, his organs would, in the end, fail like the natural course of a body.

But he couldn’t go through it, now could he?

If he could, he would have already done so and I would be talking to a young man in his prime.

Instead, I was looking at a decrepit old man who, although very strong, was about to reach the endpoint of his life in the next few years.

“You wish me to teach this girl?” He asked, his gaze as serious as it could be.

It was a well-known fact that you don’t teach your martial arts to someone who wasn’t your inheritor.

Obviously, Sasha wasn’t that so he was going to decline my polite request.

But didn’t I say I was here to make a deal?

“And what do you have to offer in return?” Liu Kuang asked.

As expected, the stuck-up rule of never sharing one’s martial arts was bogus.

It was there so it could be used as a convenient excuse to politely decline someone.

But he wasn’t going to decline it this time because I wasn’t requesting anything but instead making a deal.

A deal goes both ways.

“In return, I can turn the clock back by, what, sixty years?

Yeah, sixty years.” I replied.

The serious expression on the old man’s face hardened.

This time, he wasn’t humoring me.

Now, he was seriously listening to what I had to say.

“You impudent!” A storm of Qi erupted from the girl behind the old man but it didn’t affect me in the least.

Why would it?

She was way weaker than me.

Even Sasha simply covered her body in mana and prepared herself for a fight but I raised my hand and so did the old man.

He didn’t reprimand his disciple because she wasn’t really in the wrong here.

My words could have easily been taken as me ridiculing the old man before me due to his age.

Anyone would be angry but he wasn’t.

He could see that I was telling the truth.

That there was nothing but the truth in my eyes.

He was old enough to know that I wasn’t jerking him around so he asked me straight, “How long do I have?” “The power she has wouldn’t be compatible with yours.

I don’t need you to teach her with your life experiences.

I need you to teach her what water really is.” I said.

He nodded, his eyes shining with realization.

He knew what I was asking for and he was more than up for it.

I would have taught Sasha myself but I had something else to do so I needed to leave them all with something while I went around and did what needed to be done.

With that out of the way, I left the place of the Water Demon without Sasha.

She was a little worried but I told her not to worry about it.

I also gave everyone space pouches with plenty of mana crystals, the ones without any special attribute, so that if they were ever to run out of mana, they would be able to replenish it.

It should last them until I return.

Where was I going, you ask?

Well, that was a secret.

~~ “Thank you, thank you, young master,” An old man with a filthy appearance thanked Eric again and again as Eric saved him, and his grandson from a group of bandits.

The reason he did so was… [Messiah in the foreign land] [Tier: S+] [Task: Help 1,000 people] [51000] [Reward: All stats +10, an S+ rank item, an SS+ rank beast core] The rewards for that quest were massive and he couldn’t believe his eyes when he obtained the quest.

At first, he wasn’t going to do what Adrian asked him to because Eric didn’t trust that guy, even now when he had saved his life a few times.

There was just something about him.

Something off.

Eric couldn’t quite put his finger on it but whatever it was, it was shady and fishy and Eric was going to uncover that secret of his.

The only problem was that Eric had no idea how to.

Adrian was strong.

Very, very strong.

At first, he thought that he was also someone who returned to the past like him with the way how he knew of so many future events.

However, deep down, somewhere in his gut, he felt like that that wasn’t it.

He was wrong somewhere in there.

He just couldn’t figure out where.

There weren’t many possibilities and his power just added more pieces to that puzzle.

The way he quickly rose in power and not just that, with how clean his power was, it was an even bigger mystery.

It would have made sense if he obtained that power by making a deal with a demon but there were no such signs so Eric couldn’t help but be even more alarmed about it.

However, upon the system’s quest, he had no choice but to do it.

The prize that came along with it was too immense for him to give it up.

And then there was that… [Get along with him] ‘I don’t want to.’ Eric replied, his patience running out because he must have said the same thing about a hundred times but not once did she listen.

[If you don’t, you will lose many precious opportunities to grow strong] ‘I have you.’ Eric replied.

[I’m nowhere near as strong as him] [Nothing in this universe can make you as strong as him] ‘What would you know?’ Eric said, annoyance in his voice.

The reason for that was clear, Adrian.

Everyone was just following his whims.

Even his friends, the people who risked their lives for him, and the people for who he risked his life would rather do as he says than listen to him.

That was what made him truly angry.

And now the only other existence who had been with him since his last life and most of this life as well was now asking him to follow Adrian and signing songs of reverence for him.

[You don’t understand, Eric] [He’s not your enemy] ‘He sure is not my friend either,’ Eric annoyingly responded, his limit reaching the cross point so the voice in the system went silent as well.

Eric was at a perilous stage and he was losing people he held dear in front of his eyes, of course, he would be annoyed by the mere name of Adrian, the person he was losing those people to.

“They’re here!!!!” Eric suddenly heard someone shouting and made his way to where it was coming from, putting an end to his conversation with his system when he saw a couple of white-robed men, led by a handsome-looking white-robed young man as well.

The young man at the forefront was barely five years older than him and his strength was decent as well.

Eric, once he assessed everyone in there, felt like he wouldn’t be able to win this fight but as per the system’s quest, he couldn’t let these people be in danger either.

Of course, there was a chance that these people weren’t there to kill anyone either but he had a strong feeling that was true.

Maybe it had something to do with the state of the villagers.

They were terrified out of their wits and were running to their homes, trying to lock their doors.

When the white-robed young man saw that, he scoffed.

“Where do you think you can run from the justice of the Murim alliance?” The young man said.

‘Murim alliance?

Those are the good guys, right?’ Eric thought.

He even thought that he should lead them to the real demons since he knew the pathway to there but he was quick to give up on that idea when… “I have received intel that there are evil cultivators in this village.

For the sake of the justice and peace of the entire Jianghu, I announce this village to be an evil abode and declare its purging.” The young man shouted.

‘Purging?’ Eric was confused but deep down, he knew what that really meant.

The young man, as Eric expected, raised his sword and yelled, “Kill them all!!!” CREATORS’ THOUGHTS Bad_Wolf_7811 Creation is hard, cheer me up!
