306: The foreign world 306: The foreign world Chapter 306 “Where are we going?” Asmara asked as we were traveling for three days straight.

“Henan,” I replied.

“What is that?” She asked.

“A place where law doesn’t exist,” I replied.

The topography of the Murim was actually very simple.

Three main organizations in the world of Jianghu, the martial artists, and then the government.

While the imperial government held great power, they had no influence in the world of martial artists but due to an agreement, the martial artists also remained out of the affairs of the common people.

Of course, it was only for those at the top.

Small-time organizations such as brothel masters, slave traders, or crime organizations still meddled in the affairs of the common people and sometimes they were used as well.

However, the government couldn’t protect such small-time people and the martial organizations couldn’t control such small-time criminals so they were usually left to their own devices and left to their own fates.

As for the three major powers.

Well, that was the classic structure of any world.

One evil, one good, while one organization that kept to its own devices.

You guessed it.

The justice faction, known as the Murim alliance, the evil faction, and finally the neutral one, the Demonic faction.

Right, the last one didn’t really sound like a good organization but it was actually the one with the least political schemes.

The first two organizations were constantly at war with each other.

As for the last one, it minded its own business while dealing with the other organizations just as much as it was required.

Not more, not less.

Henan, a province of the Murim, if it was still the same, then it was a place where the just faction and the evil faction both conducted business.

It was the common ground where fighting was strictly forbidden but it was also ironically the only region where the most fights broke out.

Why?

Because it was the haven of fugitives.

90% of the population consisted of fugitives and fugitives were usually those who either left the just faction because of the injustice in there or criminals who escaped from the justice or evil factions.

In simpler words, it was the best place to hide because everyone was a freak in there.

Where else would we, people who look like were from a different planet, fit in perfectly?

But before, we would have to pass tropes of bandits, cultivators, and commoners who wouldn’t be welcoming of us at all.

“How long before we arrive there?

I stink.” Sera said.

And she wasn’t alone, almost all the girls were looking at me with the same question in their eyes.

“There’s a lake up ahead.

We can set camp there for the night.

You can shower there.” I replied.

“Out in the open?” Sera asked worriedly.

“No.

You have an earth attribute awakened.

He can perch up walls for you.” I replied.

Zefton, who was although a physical fighter, his main attribute was earth and thanks to that, his defense was pretty high.

Zefton nodded and replied, “I can do that much.” [Surprising] ‘What is?’ I asked.

[You didn’t leave any room for your perverse activities] ‘I don’t do anything without the consent of women.

Even peeping.’ Besides, I don’t keep my eyes on taken women.

Sera and Layla were taken women.

It wouldn’t be right to keep my eyes on them no matter how beautiful they were.

[Wasn’t Sophien taken as well?] ‘She chose me.’ I wasn’t a completely good man but I wasn’t so twisted like that either.

Had Sophien not wanted me, I wouldn’t have made any effort for her.

She, however, made her intentions clear.

As for Sasha, well, her intentions weren’t clear at all.

I wasn’t dense like the protagonists do not know what her intentions were with the way she acted with Asmara as her competition.

But it could be just that, a competition with Asmara.

I may not have anything to do with it at all.

~~ After a night’s rest, we kept on going.

The girls were refreshed after a warm bath thanks to Sasha who could control the water’s temperature.

She was nice enough to do that for us as well and we were refreshed as well.

After two more days of constant travel with small breaks, we finally arrived at a dilapidated village where there were no signs of life.

I could sense people in there, but they were hiding inside.

Other than that, I could also sense some people in the middle of the village, some people with very distasteful feelings around them.

And I wasn’t the only one who felt it.

We made our way to the center of the village and it wasn’t long before we came across a sight that might have been too much for these kids.

Well, now they at least knew the kind of world they were in.

[Necr*phili*a] It was pretty obvious.

Ra*e of dead bodies in other words.

“Huh?

Have new pray made their way to us?” A burly man with a scar on his face said.

Rose, whose anger was to the point of erupting was about to move when I stopped her.

The slave traders were one thing.

But these people didn’t deserve death.

That would be too peaceful.

“Save the ones still alive and tend to them.

Don’t use your mana.” I instructed.

Rose nodded and moved along with Asmara to carry out my orders.

“What the hell are you saying?!” The burly man yelled and appeared before me.

He swung his sword but as soon as he did, his eyes widened.

I caught his broad sword without any problem.

Crunch!

With a shattering tone, the sword broke under my fist.

The man’s eyes widened and he realized who he was dealing with.

[Soul entrapment has been used on thirteen targets] [SP -13] “Wait!

We’re from the Zh—” I didn’t care what he was saying.

I grabbed his jaw and ripped it off.

“Oi, have you ever been burned before and felt every little bit of it?” I asked with a sinister smile on my face while he was going through the pain of his jaw being ripped off.

~~ “What are you looking at?” I asked Sera who was looking at me like I was a monster.

“Oh, is it because of the burnt meat?

Don’t worry.

As they say, char is flavor.” I replied.

Still, her expression didn’t become better for some reason.

Not just her, everyone else was looking at me like that for some reason.

Confusing.

“I cannot give enough of my gratitude, young master,” A frail old man came to me and bowed.

Apparently, he was the chief of this village and he was one of the people hanging in the plaza, slowly making his way to death.

Thanks to Alicia’s power, they were stabilized and I healed them next.

I couldn’t let Alicia do that because that would be wasting mana.

In a world without mana, it wasn’t wise to waste mana so I forbade everyone from wasting any of it.

Of course, I had a lot of mana crystals in my inventory that could be used to restore their mana but I didn’t want to use them so soon.

Not unless they had to use their power.

As for this village, they didn’t have anything to repay us so all the old village chief could do was express his gratitude by lowering his back.

“It was fate that we ended up going this way on our way to Henan.

We are actually on a martial travel so we couldn’t just let such injustice unchecked.” I replied.

His expression was complicated when I introduced my origins.

Well, he was right to be suspicious.

Usually, the ones on such a martial journey were the young masters of big households and they had a stick so up their as*es that their posture wouldn’t bend even in front of elders.

Yet here I was, talking politely to an old man and even offering food to them.

It was obvious, given his age, that he didn’t believe my story.

“May I be so impertinent to ask, but can we spend the night here?” I asked, once again cementing his belief that I was lying about my origin.

If a martial artist was here, especially one with a prominent background, he wouldn’t have asked for permission but acted like he owned the place.

“What you have saved belongs to you, young master,” The old man said to which I nodded and turned to the rest, “We have permission to sleep here.

We’ll spend the night here and then resume our journey.” Hearing me in such a foreign language, the old man was now sure of his hypothesis but he didn’t say anything about it.

As for my teammates, they looked at me strangely when I stood up and Alicia, always the kind-hearted one, asked, “What about them?” “What about who?” I asked confusedly.

[She’s talking about the ones burning in the makeshift oven behind you] “What about them?” I asked again as if I couldn’t understand what the problem was.

They were just burning constantly and healing constantly thanks to what seemed to be the greatest skill of all times.

It made them immortal after all.

Here I was, offering them immortality and they were screaming.

Sigh… Gone the days when kindness was appreciated.

Let’s just sleep.
