301: Language of the gods 301: Language of the gods Chapter 301 “Hah!” “Hah!” “Hail of arrow.” “Apollo’s storm.” “Dark blessing.” “Mighty wrath!” “Snow goddess.” “HAP!” “Blessing of life.” “Lightning storm.” Everyone was sure hard at work.

[And you’re lazing around] ‘We’ve had this conversation.

Remove this limit and you will meet the hardest worker ever to exist in the history of creation.’ [Resting is also a part of life] ‘I knew you’d understand.’ The girls and Rose were one thing; the others weren’t lagging behind them as well.

At this point, Eric and the rest were just C+ but all of them were at the B rank at the moment.

The course of history had changed greatly but whatever it was, it wasn’t deviating much.

One thing was for sure, I had nothing to do with it.

Even if I had just shut up and died like Adrian was supposed to, the changes would have still occurred.

After all, in billions of chain events, it wasn’t statistically possible for billions of people to make the same choice every time.

Someone would, definitely, one day, out of the blue, would decide to go left, not right like he was supposed to, and then everything would change.

Layla and Sophien still seemed to be the best friends and Derrell was getting along with the rest as well.

Granted, due to my blood bond, he was forced to be with us, but he didn’t seem unhappy at the moment.

The blood bond never did anything to one’s emotions.

He could hate me if he wanted to but he didn’t.

Probably because he wasn’t the kingdom’s pawn anymore.

‘I’m such a nice guy.’ […] [That’s a new level of shamelessness] ‘Time to go.’ We were close to our destination.

The no man’s land was full of trouble.

Monsters, bandits, those who had nowhere else to go, and the various races living here.

In these last three weeks, not one day had gone by when there wasn’t trouble.

I was the one taking the night shifts so the rest could rest because their days would be very hectic.

Of course, nights were hectic as well but against me, not one group lasted more than a minute.

The greatest weakness these guys had, even the girls, was their lack of experience with killing.

Granted it wasn’t something one could learn overnight, but it still wasn’t something so difficult that it would take them so long to get used to it.

Only Eric and Rose were good in that regard but even among them, Rose killed only when I told her to and Eric didn’t like senseless killing.

It was a problem and it would bite these guys one day.

But maybe not everyone was like me.

Third day into the fourth week, we finally arrived at what looked like a temporary fortress.

The walls were perched with wooden spikes and there were four towers on the wall, with three dark-eyed and dark-skinned men standing guard on each.

There were twelve in total and they were covering every direction of the place except for their back which didn’t need to be guarded because there was the base at the back.

“Rose, take care of them,” I told Rose who, without a moment’s hesitation blurred into space, and the next time she appeared, there was blood on her face.

“I did not kill them.” She straightforwardly said.

Take care of them.

That was what I said.

I needed Rose to kill on her own, not because I said so and she didn’t, even when she could have easily done so.

“That’s your choice,” I replied and we moved inside.

We made our way inside the base and with Rose present, it was amazingly easy for us to get through them all.

Even the guard of the base, a demon knight couldn’t last a full second when Rose struck him with lightning.

Once we were done incapacitating the base, we made our way to the cave that was at the far south end of the base.

The entire base was constructed around it and the only way to enter it was by going through hundreds of demons which we did.

As we arrived at the cave, the cave was showing nothing but darkness beyond a certain point.

I couldn’t even see past my arm’s reach, let alone deep enough.

But there was a reason for that.

A transparent barrier in our way that couldn’t be pushed.

I touched it and it gave no other feeling than that of a blockage.

There was no resistance and there was no flexibility either.

Eric came forward, his expression focused on something in front of him.

I figured it was his system.

I didn’t know what happened but when Eric placed his hand on the barrier, it began to melt.

‘Seriously?’ The halo of the protagonist was up.

He could do what no one else could.

Not even me.

‘Some system, huh?’ […] [It’s still very ancient] Right~~~ It had nothing to do with the fact that his system was useful while my system was only useful at giving me perverted titles.

[You are a pervert] Not the point.

Anyway, with the barrier down, I could now see inside the cave.

It was a cave.

“Good work, slave number 1,” I said as I stepped past him.

A black line formed on Eric’s head but he swallowed the curses at the tip of his tongue and moved on.

As we all traveled inside, all that was around us was a cave.

A straight cave with no end in sight.

“How long is this?” Sera asked, her voice full of complaint.

Well, for a mage like her, walking for such a long time was a little difficult.

By my estimation, we must have been walking for an entire day.

Still, there seemed to be no end in sight.

“Is it just me or…” Derrell said, not sure if he should complete his sentence.

“We’re going down,” I replied.

We were going down.

The outside of the cave sure as hell wasn’t this long.

I mean sure, it was a mountain and it seemed to be a really big mountain but it shouldn’t have been so long that it took a full day to cover it.

The only other explanation was that it was some sort of magical thing, or we weren’t going straight at all.

I was in the latter group and I was proved right from the looks of it.

“Do we turn back?” Asmara asked.

Her question made sense.

While others would think it would be strange to return after all this time but the same couldn’t be said for Asmara who saw things from the strategic point of view.

While others thought it would be a waste to turn around, what they failed to consider was the fact that this was a recon mission.

A simple observation and report.

We hadn’t killed any of the demons up on the surface so they must have been up by now.

Considering they reported back, it would still take some time for the reinforcements from the demon realm to arrive.

By the time they would, we would be able to return and run away.

But if we delayed any longer, we would be just giving the reinforcements from the demon realm time to get here.

Then it would be impossible, well, near impossible, but still very difficult to get away.

[As expected] [She’s well-versed in warfare] She sure was.

She saw the point that even Eric, who had gone through all of this, couldn’t see.

“No,” I replied, “We keep going.” We were gonna keep going.

Whatever was here, it was now exposed.

The barrier was gone thanks to our protagonist so this place was now open even to the demons.

Considering they would take the safer route and not send the people in the camp inside, upon the arrival of the reinforcements, they would surely enter.

Even if we left safely, we didn’t know what the demons would find in this place.

They already had an edge of an alliance.

It wasn’t better to give them another one.

Asmara looked at me and after going through everything, she nodded.

If push came to shove, I’d be able to get us out of here without a problem.

Not only did I have Allison’s support, but I also had plenty of life element for sacrifice magic.

So we kept on going and going.

After what seemed to be another day of travel after a good amount of rest, we finally arrived at the end of the pathway.

As we did, we came across a gate.

A giant metallic gate.

The material of the gate was, well, something foreign.

Foreign to these guys though.

Not to me.

I turned to look at everyone, especially Eric and Sophien.

Eric also had a curious expression on his face seeing a giant gate without any special power emitting from it.

Sophien’s expression, however, was wide-eyed and wide-mouthed.

No, it wasn’t because she recognized the material of the gate.

No.

It was what was written on the gate.

“The language of the gods,” Alicia said, looking at the words written on the metal door.

Language of the gods my a*s.
