300: Expedition 300: Expedition Chapter 300 “Welcome back,” Desmond said, his tone awkward, just like the rest of the class’s.

Well, not mine, nor the girls’, but the rest of the class was awkward nonetheless.

Even those who were on my side were awkward as well.

Layla looked at me like I was a museum piece without clothes and that intrigued her and at the same time weirded her out.

‘How hard was it for them to understand that I was strong?’ I asked myself and looked at Desmond who was also looking at me like that.

Seriously.

What was the big deal?

“Due to the special circumstances of the test, the entire class managed to pass bringing their scores to C+, the number needed to advance to the second year,” Desmond said.

In the novel, by this time, there were only around fifteen students left.

This time all fifty managed to pass thanks to me.

Wasn’t that great?

They should be thankful to me.

“Without delay, I will show you the individual results,” Desmond said.

I was obviously first, with the highest score possible, SS.

Then was Rose with also an SS.

The rest of the girls who engaged Zeus got an S, along with the main characters.

The rest of the extras got an A bringing their collective grade to C+, allowing them to advance to the second year.

“Student Adrian, for his highest rank will be rewarded a special privilege.

He will be allowed to select his own assignment for the start of the second year.” Desmond said.

“The students at S rank would be allowed to choose their assignments after student Adrian has chosen.

The rest of the students would be assigned a rank.” Desmond ended the first year with the results and the broch on our uniforms changed to purple, signifying we were now in the second year.

The day ended with just that.

Such a hard as* academy.

We weren’t even given any kind of reward.

“Student Adrian, the director would like to see you,” Desmond said before I could exit.

Of course, he did.

Well, I gave him a lot of trouble as well.

But hey, it wasn’t my fault that Zeus regained his power faster than anyone expected, and thanks to the protagonist’s aura, the event turned into an opportunity.

If anyone, Eric was to blame.

Yeah, I blame Eric.

“So you know why you are here, right?” Sirius asked.

“I blame Eric,” I replied.

“What?” He asked.

“For the artifact, I blame Eric,” I replied.

“That is not why you are here.” He replied.

“Oh, then please go on,” I said.

“I know you have been granted the right to choose your next assignment,” He said.

I nodded and replied, “Yes, I intend to go to a calming place.

Lie around and do nothing.” “As expected,” The way he said it made me a little irked but I still let him continue, “I want you to go here.” He passed me a file which I opened and looked at.

My expression turned strange and I looked at him.

The question in my gaze was enough to let him know that I knew about this and found this very strange.

“A ruin has risen.

We do not know what it is and how to enter it, but it is at the edge of the Demon empire, so we cannot carelessly leave it be,” Sirius replied.

At the edge of the Demon empire.

That was the ‘No man’s land’ because no human territory was connected to the Demon empire.

But, that was a barren land where no life could practically thrive so it wasn’t habited and its unique nature allowed it to be a part of no nation.

Still, it was very close to the Demon Empire so how was it that they hadn’t taken notice of it yet?

“They have,” Sirius replied, as if reading my mind, he continued, “Demons have tried to enter that place for some time now but a barrier stops them.” “The barrier is the same as the artifact.” I kind of now understood why I was here.

What I did at the test must have been relayed to Sirius.

“So you want me to go there and break through it?” I asked.

“It is a no man’s land so we cannot send a lot of people.

All you have to do is go in and come out.

Check the interior and then report it to us.

We might be able to negotiate with the Demon Empire.

After all, we are not a war yet.” Sirius replied.

The pretense of peace was still up.

Before the time was up, no one would initiate a war on their own.

Too risky for either side without properly making sure they had their cards right.

“Mhm,” I hummed and asked, “Who will be going with me?” “Them.” He said as he slid me a piece of paper.

Of course, they were.

This wasn’t a damn assignment; this was a damn opportunity for the protagonist.

~~ “So, us?” I asked as I looked at the lineup in front of me.

No logical explanation could be given for this lineup.

It would have been much better to just send someone trained in the art of infiltration and everything but no, they were sending students for no apparent reason.

‘It just felt right,’ Sirius replied.

Eric, Sera, Layla, Zefton, Sasha, Sophien, Derrell, Alicia, Laura, Rose, Asmara, and last but not least, Me.

Us twelve.

When asked why?

No answer was given.

The world’s will was screwing with us.

With me!

Something was going to happen during this expedition, I knew that for sure.

“Us,” Eric replied, her dissatisfaction apparent in his tone.

You think I want to be here with you, you bastard?

I had every reason to disagree when Sirius gave me an offer I couldn’t refuse.

A complete vacation from the second-year classes except for the occasional expedition assignments.

Not just me, but the rest of the girls as well.

To me, the academy wasn’t really important but to them, it kind of held some significance so I decided to think of their benefit for once.

Even if it meant spending some time with this pompous jerk.

~~ We departed immediately but we didn’t go by magic.

We departed by carriage, dressed as slave travelers.

Who would be the slaves was up to me so I was of course going to choose the people I liked the least.

“Why us?” Eric asked and Zefton also looked at me with an annoyed expression.

“Because you would be in demand among ladies, or men, for your beauty while Zefton would be in demand for his giant body.

Some women crave that.” I replied.

“Why not women?” Zefton asked.

“You monster,” I said with shock written all over my face, “You want women to be in chains?” “Wha-No-I…” He was speechless and couldn’t form a complete sentence.

I smirked and looked at Sera, “You’re lucky you have an abundant chest.” Sera’s face turned red as she looked at me in disgust, “Stop staring at me, you horn dog.” Wow, her cursing needed some words.

I shook my head and got back to assigning roles.

The girls would be my wives, concubines, or mistresses.

There was an intense fight among my girls about who would be wife or concubine, but they ceased when Sasha was the one to draw the lot to be my main wife, which put her life in danger as well.

“Why not him?” Zefton asked, pointing at Derrell.

“Oh, he’s my slave.” No matter what you guys did, you weren’t getting out of this.

Live your lives as slaves for the rest of this journey.

Blame your special origins.

Muhahahahahahaha!!!

[…] The journey continued as we passed through many cities of different nations.

Since they were human territories, we were easily granted access and Sirius had enough connections to make sure we passed through safely.

Finally, after a gruesome journey of a month, we arrived at the border of the no man’s land.

As soon as we did, our first encounter with trouble came up.

Bandits.

“Hand over your women!!!” The leader yelled with a lascivious grin.

I would have been surprised if I didn’t know about these guys but they have been following us for the last two cities.

[Magic cannon x100] A rain of magic cannons and pretty soon, organs and different limbs were blasted off to oblivion.

They were weak, they were lucky I was in a good mood from bullying Eric.

Otherwise, I would have had fun with them.

Stepping on the head of the bandit leader as I moved on, followed by the girls, I looked back at the ones who didn’t move.

Eric wasn’t new to this bloodshed but he wasn’t the type to meaninglessly kill.

“What?

Never seen dead bandits before?” I asked, snapping Derrell, Zefton, Sasha, Layla, and Sera out of their daze.

“You did not have to do this,” Eric said, his expression not good.

“Of course, I didn’t.” I replied, “But I did anyway.

What are you going to do about it?” “…” He remained silent.

“If you want to survive out here, abandon that childish belief that you can save everyone,” I said before I kept on moving, the girls wordlessly followed me while the rest looked at each other before they had no choice but to follow me as well.
