292: Queen of thunder, Rose (1) 292: Queen of thunder, Rose (1) Chapter 292 Rule no 1 of lightning, ‘Never trust it.’ The moment Rose thought she had it under control, the moment she was caught up in the illusion that she was in control.

She never was.

Like I said, it was an illusion and illusions come at a price.

A negative one.

Boom!!!

A shockwave that was almost silent like a rocket thrust and threw Rose quite a bit back.

Of course, I caught her before she went out of bounds because then we would lose our excuse for a fight.

There was a painful expression on her face and of course, there was because her right arm, along with her shoulder was gone, redistributed.

At this rate, even if I was keeping an eye on her life signals, it would be difficult for me to protect her from making a crucial mistake.

Lightning wasn’t something that could be befriended.

It couldn’t be controlled with the power of the will.

It couldn’t be coerced.

It couldn’t be manipulated.

It couldn’t be scared.

There was only one way to control lightning and that was to become lightning itself.

Asking Rose to become that was a stretch because she had just started her journey.

It was impossible, even for me to become a completely offensive element on my first try.

When I practiced lightning, it took me about ten years to completely tame it.

Me!

Of course, I had no guidance then and I had provided Rose with plenty.

If she could, a year was all it would take her to put it into practice.

[Breath of life x5] Breath of Life had minor regenerative abilities which couldn’t be on par with my regenerative skill but it was still something.

After casting it about five times, Rose’s arm grew back and her pain lessened.

I extended my hand and she took it.

I pulled her to myself and said, “Don’t try to control it.

You can’t.

Just try to be it.

It sounds a lot easier than it sounds.” Of course, she wouldn’t be able to understand what I meant to say but I was sure she would now be able to lower the damage to herself now that she understood it and experienced it once.

She looked at me, panting heavily as her mind hadn’t recovered from that pain.

“Khuak!” And to help her recover from that, I punched her in her stomach once again, sending her to her knees again, coughing blood as she tried to bear with the pain.

But this pain was nothing compared to the pain from losing an entire body part to lightning.

[Breath of life] “Try as many times as you need.

That’s what I’m here for.

To make sure you don’t fail even if you fail every time.” I said as I took a step back.

She recovered from the pain quite quickly and stood up.

Sparks of blue lightning flashed through her eyes as she raised her hands and once again created two drills on her hands.

This time, however, there were far fewer drills so there was a very low risk of collision and even if they collided, the damage delivered to her and her opponent would be far lesser.

At least she learned the lesson of collision from this.

Lightning doesn’t belong with each other.

A simple rule that lightning clashed with even itself.

So if she could somehow protect herself from colliding with it, she needed to also learn to stop it from colliding with each other.

[Celestial Guard] I needed to work on my skills as well.

As she struck my shield, it broke in an instant and I had to dodge to the left but her hands were still covered in the lightning drill.

There was a pained expression on her face which indicated she was spending a good amount of concentration to controlling the lightning.

Well, she wouldn’t be able to become lightning in a day.

So the first step was indeed to try and control it.

It was just like a sensual play.

Taste, addiction, and tame.

And after that, the stage of complete conquering came.

I swung the heavy blunt sword in my hand to counter some of her drills which worked but the impact was far lower than one would expect.

At most, I could only get through a few drills with 5 SP.

The problem was that my SP was running out and even elixirs and potions couldn’t replenish it that fast.

There were two methods of countering lightning.

Lightning itself and earth element, both of which I didn’t have.

I shot another bout of soul power only this time, I used ten times the power.

[SP -50] This time it worked and she was thrown back but she was able to compose herself faster than she even made it to the edge of the nonexistent stage.

I jumped upwards, pushing myself deep into the sky.

Zap!

She appeared in front of me, her palms shaking as she seemed to have switched back to her previous move of lightning beams but this time, the power I felt was far beyond what I could imagine.

It was ten times that.

I unequipped my sword and hurriedly moved in, engaging her in a fistfight because I wasn’t sure I would come unscathed from that move.

But it wasn’t me I was worried about.

If she were to use that move at such an intensity and she wasn’t able to control it, she would be shredded to pieces before I or the system would be able to do anything.

I made it in time and she had no choice but to dispel the move.

She blocked me effortlessly but it wasn’t that easy to get rid of me.

Thousands of moves were exchanged in a brief moment at our speed and the shockwaves from our exchange cleared the sky around us.

The clouds were blown away, and the sun shined above out heads unrestricted.

As the sun shined above Rose’s visage, she looked extremely beautiful, but also extremely deadly at the same time.

As if her gaze was enough to snuff someone out of existence.

The desire hidden behind that gaze was obvious to anyone.

And even if it wasn’t, it didn’t matter for them because it was for me to see and I was seeing it, her unbridled desire to get stronger and to show me that growth.

That desire seemed to be spiraling out of control.

But it was okay.

Her desire was what fueled her.

And maybe it was that desire as well because soon enough, she was once again attempting her move.

I was about to move in to stop her once again when my pupils dilated.

[…Impossible] It wasn’t just her who was dumbfounded.

No, it was me as well.

I couldn’t help but think that I was dreaming at this point because the lightning on her hand, although not entirely stable, was much more stable than before.

It wasn’t to the point it was safe for her, but it was at least not life-threatening.

[To her!] [Not to you!] [Hurry up!] At Allison’s reminder, I hurriedly pulled out the blunt sword and without hesitation raised it above my head.

I poured all the leftover soul power I had which was about 120 and executed the move that I wasn’t sure was safe or not.

But I didn’t have the time to think of the impact.

Because if that thing hit me, I wouldn’t be dead but the amount of pain wouldn’t be anything my current body would be able to handle.

“Divine demon sword art: final move.” “Darkness.” And then I simply brought my sword down.

The last move of the divine demon sword art was quite simple but very complex at the same time.

The power accumulated in the sword would fall on the intended target without fail but it wouldn’t fall in a straight line.

It would fall in a fluid snake-like movement as if a water dragon flying in the air or the sea.

But just that wasn’t what made it complex.

Thousands of sword strikes moving in perfect harmony.

It was just like how Rose’s lightning movement was.

If there was harmony, they would interact with each other and explode and it was the same for this move as well.

The complex part was assigning the algorithm that would allow them to remain at the perfect distance from each other but also very close to each other for maximum impact.

So far, other than me, not one person has been able to even copy this move.

[She will] I didn’t know why Allison placed so much faith in Asmara, but it wasn’t my place to ask.

My focus was currently on the queen of thunder before me who would fry me deep bone if I wasn’t fast enough to complete this movement.

Crumble!

Snap!

Dust!

“Kugh!!!” “Argghh!!!” ~~~ The people of the empire saw the scene up above in the sky.

The scene of utter destruction.

“No way.” Not just one person thought or said this.

Everyone did.

And soon enough, everyone had the same thought… “RUN!!!” Crash!!!

Slamm!!!

Boomm!!!
