285: Everyone’s goals 285: Everyone’s goals Chapter 285 “Ahhhh!!!!” A woman’s screams of pain could be heard through a door outside which, two robed men were standing, seemingly talking to each other about something.

“How is it?” One of the dark-robed men asked.

“Not good.

The child has begun to make her way out of her.

At the rate it is going, we will have to quicken our plans.” The other dark-robed man replied.

“That does not sound good at all.

Will it interfere with the descent if we were to do so?” The first man asked.

“It most probably will.” The other man seriously replied before he somberly added, “And we also do not know whether or not she will survive that long.” “She has to.” The first man replied, “Make sure she does.

She must live so the descent cannot be delayed than it already has.

The human empire and the allied races have both moved, proceeding with their own plans.” “If we cannot deal with this, then why not interfere with their plans?” The second man asked.

“We cannot expend the resources needed for that at the moment,” the first man replied.

The other one nodded before he turned to look at the door behind which the woman was, still screaming as if her insides were being rearranged which quite literally were.

“May the god be with her and us all,” The first man said while the screams of the woman only increased in intensity.

~~ “What do you think would have happened here?” Rafael asked Sirius who was also looking at the state of the room.

Signs of battle and scores of corpses, ranging from demons, vampires, and all other races except for humans.

There were about one hundred and fifty of them which meant it was quite a big party and their strength wasn’t any less than the party Rafael and Bayren were leading.

Yet the way they were all killed was something else as well.

Rafael had never seen something like this let alone think like this.

Even the previous queen or the nightmare of the empire wasn’t capable of this much destruction and killing this many people of different origins but no doubt powerful.

And the worst part was the pattern.

The pattern they were all killed with was the same.

Which meant either there were people who were well versed and taught the same techniques or it was the work of just one person.

“It’s hard to imagine someone who can kill this many SSS ranks and there are still traces of several divine ranks here.

Which means whoever it was, was very strong.

Strong enough to destroy everything and kill that monster as well.” Sirius replied as his gaze turned to a creature they had seen before just not as big as this.

A giant wyvern was lying dead on one side of the room.

The wounds on it matched the wounds on the corpses.

It wasn’t a monster any of them could fight.

All they had to do was renew the seal and it would remain sealed.

The wyvern’s rank was divine rank, the same as Rafael and others, but its strength far surpassed that.

Rafael knew that if every divine-ranked being or even if some of the guardians joined, they wouldn’t be able to kill this monster.

Yet from the looks of it, it was killed by only one person and it didn’t seem to be an equal fight.

“We need to go back,” Rafael said before he somberly added, “Now.” ~~ Astaroth opened a luxurious door, leading to a giant room where hundreds of people could easily fit in and still leave space.

In the corner of the room, by a giant window, sat a handsome human dark-haired male.

His dark-colored eyes sucked in whoever gazed into them.

Such a man who looked ordinary compared to the buff physique of Astaroth was the strongest being in the world right now.

“Have you settled in?” Astaroth asked.

“I have,” The dark-haired young man replied before he said, “Did you tell the old man I apologized?

It was a misunderstanding.

Tell him I’m sorry for his arm.” The young man paused before he added, “Well, with how old he is, I’m sure he can bear such a wound.” “I’m not sure he shares the same view as yours,” Astaroth said.

“Yes, well.

I knew he was a vampire before I ripped it off.

He will regenerate in no time.” The dark-haired man nonchalantly said.

Astaroth wanted to say that it barely healed because wounds delivered by the young man were healing very slowly despite the healing magic of Natasha.

Even the extraordinary regeneration of a vampire was coming short in front of the wounds that the young man inflicted.

Still, he remained quiet about that and said, “Well, I’m sure it will be fine since you say so.” “Yes, it will be,” The young man said before he added, “Sorry about your face too.

Well, some of it was already burned so I’m sure it’s hardly noticeable.” Astaroth’s face ached as he heard those words.

Astaroth’s left side of the face was already burned due to the mysterious wound he suffered due to the explosion.

On top of that, the young man had also burnt more of it, making the left side of his head burn completely.

The only silver lining was that the wounds from the young man were at least showing signs of healing.

“Who’s over there?” The young man suddenly asked, pointing in a direction out the window.

Astaroth knew what it meant so he said, “That’s the guardian of the demon race.” “Is that so?

He’s quite strong.” The young man said before he asked, “Does he ever come out?” “Only when the demon race is threatened,” Astaroth replied.

“Does he not see me as a threat?” The young man asked.

“I’m sure if he did, he would be here,” Astaroth replied.

“I see.

Shame though, I wanted to fight him.

He’s strong enough to give me trouble.” The young man said, his voice full of humility.

However, Astaroth knew otherwise.

Even if the young man and the guardian fought, the winner would still be the young man no matter how difficult of a fight it would be.

“How many like him exist in this world?” The young man curiously asked.

“Five,” Astaroth replied.

“I see.

I better stay within my limits then.

I’m not sure I can take on five of them yet.” The young man said.

“Yet?” Astaroth asked because he couldn’t understand that part.

“I’m not at my full strength yet.

Well, I can’t ever be at my full strength.

But I can be at the full strength of my current body which is let’s say, about half, or less than half right now.” The young man replied.

Astaroth gulped.

Half meant that the young man was stronger than the gods themselves.

His current strength was enough to fight against the guardians and even defeat them and he proved that by toying with the entire party Astaroth took on the expedition and also single-handedly defeated the monstrous wyvern that the residents of this world had only been sealing till now because they couldn’t defeat it.

“Don’t be so surprised,” The young man said, returning to the book he was reading before Astaroth came before he added, “You have not seen true strength yet.

It’s despairing.” Astaroth remained quiet because he didn’t know how to respond to that or ask anything further.

Instead, he asked about his main agenda.

“I have—” But before Astaroth could even begin, the young man interrupted him by saying, “Not now.

I will do what you want me to but I’m still weak.

I need to focus on gathering my strength before I do anything.

Besides, I have my own agenda as well.” “How can I be sure you will help me and not just go away?” Astaroth gathered the courage and asked even though he knew that the young might be offended.

The young man, however, wasn’t bothered by what Astaroth said and replied, “I also have my own agenda but as you know, I’m in a different world.

I will need your help for my goal and in doing so, I will also repay the favor.” “What goal, may I be so daring to ask?” Astaroth had already pushed his luck but he still respectfully asked.

The young man closed the book which startled Astaroth a little but he was quick to calm down when the young man opened another one and said, “I have some of my own goals.

You’re better off not knowing.” “However,” the young man continued before Astaroth could say anything, “I need you to find me a vessel.

A person.” “What kind of person?” Astaroth asked.

“I will tell you the requirements later.

Before that, in good faith, I will do one thing you ask me to do.

Don’t be greedy, though.” The young man said.

Zeus nodded and said, “Then, there is a child we need to obtain as soon as it has ripened.” “Who?” The young man curiously asked.

Astaroth remained silent for a few seconds before he replied, “The dark saint.” CREATORS’ THOUGHTS Bad_Wolf_7811 Creation is hard, cheer me up!
