The Archangel of Death - Chapter 284
284: I am Death 284: I am Death Chapter 285 “What is the meaning of this?” A black-haired man asked another man with a similar hair color.
The former man had a look of deep anger on his face while the latter man had a cold look on his face.
The indifferent man remained quiet when the angered man asked him.
“I asked what are you doing, Aden?” The angered man asked again, his voice a little lower than before now, indicating he had come to control his emotions.
“I simply tried to follow my goal.” The calm and collected man, Aden, replied, “I have found out how he went to that world and how he returned.
I have found the nothingness and the way to pass through that nothingness to the void of the dimensions.” “I know.
I can feel the dimensional barrier practically screaming due to that.” The man replied to Aden, his face still not particularly good, “You have to stop before you rip a hole in everything.” “The hole is there already.
I’m just copying it and imitating it on my own.” Aden argued with a calm posture.
“There is a difference between creation and manmade creation.
Just so, the natural gateway is different from the gateway you made.
It’s unstable and it’s spreading everywhere.” The man warned as if he couldn’t even imagine the consequences.
“Yet why is it okay if he travels between worlds but not if I do so?
And I should be proud.
I’m not relying on anyone to do it.” Aden replied.
“Because then you would be heading to a place where you will have no control.” An amused, clear voice entered their ears.
Both the men turned to look at the new addition man with deep black eyes and darker-than-black hair in a deep black suit.
His features and attire blended him in darkness completely and when he appeared in front of their eyes, he had an amused look in his eyes as he said, “Don’t do this, Aden.
This is a warning from a friend.” “You think you can stop me?” Aden asked the new man.
“Of course I can.” The man replied with amusement flowing in his words as if he had just heard the funniest joke in the world.
His attitude irked Aden the wrong way as he said, “Just like you have bowered the power of death, Bruce, I have also borrowed the power of time.
We’re equals.” “Hahahahahahaha.” A teal of laughter so melodious as if it was the song of an angle and full of amusement emitted from Bruce’s lips as he laughed and laughed and couldn’t even stop for a few seconds until Aden couldn’t take it anymore.
“Hahaha.” He still laughed as he wiped the metaphorical tear of joy from his eye and said, “That’s the funniest joke I’ve ever heard.
Have you tried to audition in a skit?
You’d be wonderful.” Aden and the other man couldn’t really hold themselves back.
Of course, only Aden was full of hatred while the other man was full of anger because he felt like he was also being belittled.
“Oi.” He warned Bruce to which he waved his hand and said, “Relax.
I’m not saying you’re weak.
I’m just saying I’m stronger.” The words were still the same but the meaning behind them was different.
He wasn’t on their level at all.
He was beyond that and the confidence in his voice was enough to compel Aden and the other man to believe him.
“Either way, you’re going to have to stop.
It’s up to you if you will stop by yourself or want me to.
Though I would appreciate it if you chose the latter option.” Bruce mockingly said.
“Enough, both of you!” The other man said and turned to Aden who was the one wrong there and said, “Nothing’s changed yet, Aden.
Give up.” “Why should I be the one to give up?” Aden simply asked.
“Because!” The man yelled but took deep breaths instantly to calm himself down and said, “Because, what you’re doing is wrong.
You won’t be just changing your history but the history itself.” “And I won’t let that happen.” Bruce chimed in which earned him a stink eye from the man.
“Ha!” Aden scoffed, for the first time an expression on his cold face as he said, “You were the one who said all our desires would be met, Bruce.
Yet when I try to do that, you stop me?” “I also said that if you ever got in my way, I will kill you.
This is getting in my way.
You see how this works?” Bruce replied, making his stance clear.
The man stuck between Aden and Bruce could only curse himself about this.
On both sides were stubborn children who weren’t going to listen to each other and no what anyone else said, there was no one to change their minds and stop them.
“Exactly,” As if reading his mind, Bruce said, “Either it’s him or me.
One of us would be dead at the end of this exchange.
The question is; who are you going to help, Sam?” Sam looked at Bruce, knowing he was right and Aden was wrong in every way.
Knowing the impact of what Aden was about to do, Sam knew if it was anyone else, they would have chosen to stand with Bruce in a heartbeat.
But he wasn’t anyone else.
He was Aden’s childhood friend.
He, Aden, and one other were a trio of trouble until Aden’s tragedy and he changed.
And what made Aden change?
It wasn’t like Sam couldn’t understand where Aden was coming from.
So in a way, he was right as well.
They were both justified.
It was only a matter of who was justified more than the other.
“Stop,” Sam said, his head down so no one could tell who he said that to but both Aden and Bruce knew what he had chosen.
“I thought at least you would stand on my side,” Disappointed, Aden couldn’t help but let out a deep exhale and turned to Bruce, “You have destroyed yet another friendship.” Bruce chuckled as he said, “I’m willing to bear the cross.” “I see.” Aden sighed and turned to the computer screen that was blinking behind him and calmly pressed a button on the panel, “Then I have made my choice as well.” “NO!” Sam yelled and tried to move but Bruce raised his arm in front of him and said, “Just watch.” Sam was confused as to why Bruce wasn’t moving when he turned his attention to Aden.
He was also confused.
He had turned on the device necessary to create a wormhole but it didn’t.
There wasn’t even a sign of spatial fluctuation.
“Time goes in a straight line,” Bruce said, the same amassment as earlier in his voice, “There are ups and downs, bumps, left and right, and zig-zagging but it all remains the same.” “Forward.
That’s the only way it can go.
That line cannot be interrupted, no matter what.
If an anomaly occurs to contradict that, time fixes it, immediately.” “And we’re talking about an anomaly that’s out of its control, naturally like it happened to me.
What you’re trying to do is anything but natural.
That’s fully in time’s control.” “And from the looks of it, it hasn’t authorized this dimensional tear.” Aden wasn’t in the mood to hear Bruce’s obnoxious voice as anger kept building with every word in his entire being.
He wanted to rip Bruce’s tongue out but there wasn’t anything he could do about it.
Because even before he could, Bruce did.
Wham!!!
A pressure unlike any other struck Aden and he was pushed back a little, the setup behind him, along with the wall and many walls beyond, gone, like it never existed.
Bruce once again moved, but this time, he didn’t emit anything.
This time, he moved himself.
He jumped forward, punching Aden on his hands that he had extended to block Bruce’s intangible attacks.
“Kugh!!” Aden groaned as he was thrown away by the pressure behind that punch.
His internals shook like he had been hit by an asteroid.
He rolled on the ground, kept going backward until he could finally stop his descent, and stood up, hurt and in pain.
But that pain was the least of his concerns.
Because when he raised his head, from the broken wall, something was making its way out of it.
The top part of the wall broke down like paper as something that looked like a helmet came in contact with it.
Bruce, covered in pitch-black armor, was making his way to Aden.
The armor was fully dark, with two daggers like short swords strapped to its thighs, one sword at the belt, one broad and large sword behind, and a pitch-black scythe on the back, making a cross of weapons on his back.
The chest piece had the face of a roaring wolf on it and the same on one of the shoulder guards.
The hands and feet of the armor were shaped like the claws of a dragon.
The armor was so dark that in darkness, one wouldn’t even be able to see it.
There wasn’t even a space for eyes in the helmet.
Last but not least, the armor wasn’t six feet high like Bruce was.
It was about ten feet high and its heavy thuds were shaking the earth along with every step.
“You were partially right back there Aden,” Bruce’s clear voice fell in Aden’s ears as the sky began to get dark, and a gloomy but destructive feeling spread throughout the surroundings.
“You have borrowed the power of time no doubt, but I haven’t borrowed anything.” Slam!
A hit so fast and so precise that Aden didn’t even have enough time to activate his power of time, “I haven’t borrowed the power of death.” As Aden’s body met the ground and his mind fell into the world of disorientation, he heard Bruce’s voice before he passed out… “I am death.” CREATORS’ THOUGHTS Bad_Wolf_7811 Creation is hard, cheer me up!
